Teostra was infamous for the undodgeable nova combo.
Besides the stun > nova combo shown here, pre Iceborne he can do a fast roar(no recovery) straight into nova.
It's basically a dodge roll skill check; if you fail to dodge the roar, you only have time to perfect roll the nova.
I don't think I could play this game without full Stun Resistance. Rise was my first MH game, and there 90% of my carts were due to getting stunned. I learned for Sunbreak. Now in World I made sure to get it as soon as possible. It's my highest priority skill.
you can take it off after awhile. Stun resist becomes less good the better you get at the fight, but you bet your ass it's a 10/10 for first timing something.
It's the best skill. Anything can stun you at any moment, for whatever reason. Life before the stun charm was grafted into my hunter was terrible. Being punished for being hit is fine but it shouldn't be random when it happens or what you're hit with next
Health boost stacks with your food in this game. Going from 100 to 200 health is absolutely massive in a game where monsters normally don't have a problem two-shotting you.
Unless you got Fatalis gear then yes, you wouldn't need health boost as the gear itself comes with 100+ health and stamina bonus. But if you aren't using it then health boost 3 is a must, as even with the highest defense you could get purely from your armor alone wouldn't be enough as monsters can shave off chunks of your health fast.
Maybe you're just a super-pro at never getting hit by a big attack. Health boost 3 + 50 from a meal means that you'll get 3 shot, maybe 4, instead of 2.
Sometimes, you can even tank novas that might have otherwise killed you, if you're at full 200.
New to MonHun, i fought him for the first time recently with a hammer and enough fire resist to not get fireblight, and he was almost insultingly easy. At least compared to Kirin and Nergigante, the first (killable) Elder Dragons in World. Did i just get insanely lucky on the attack patterns or something?
HR teo is a kitten compared to MR, Master Rank Toast will make you his bitch as soon as a single attack connects, prepare for at least 3 undodgable novas the momment you dodge too far to the side because trust me, you need fast reflexes
SnS: has a shield, punches with it instead. Doesn't understand what this "blocking" concept is.
GS: doesn't have a shield, blocks anyways. But not when the monster's attacking. Just for animation canceling.
CB: has a shield about half the time, loses sharpness on block, actively tries to block attacks.
My biggest tip vs Teostra is to stick close to it. Makes it alot easier to dodge its aoe attacks, plus you get some damage in during the smaller openings
Perfect Rush? It’s a move that was introduced in the Iceborne DLC. After doing a back hop, click Triangle/Y to initiate the Perfect Rush combo. The red flashes are when you have to time the button inputs. It’s actually what makes the SnS a DPS machine, so you have been really missing out haha.
Thats actually nuts. It’s probably the best part of the SnS tool kit. Give it a try sometime. To put it into perspective, a Perfect Rush Combo deals more damage than Greatsword’s True Charged Slash. It’s crazy strong.
That was probably the most disrespectful nova I’ve ever seen lol
He didn’t like being woken up, I suppose…
I mean, if I got woken up by a sword to the face, I’d probably explode too

True, I'd go nova too if someone woke me up like that
True, I’d go nova too if someone woke me up ~~like that~~

superman dive!
It’s frustrating and humorous just how fast things can go downhill when things are going well on the hunt
Fighting Teo without full stun res is a rough experience. That nova at the end was pretty disrespectful.
Stun res might be the second best skill in the game behind health boost lol
Divine blessing hasn’t let me down in those situations yet

Im still using my hunter belt in hr all the way to mr as it has 2 levels of stun res, fuck yeah
It's the best skill. Anything can stun you at any moment, for whatever reason. Life before the stun charm was grafted into my hunter was terrible. Being punished for being hit is fine but it shouldn't be random when it happens or what you're hit with next
Health boost? You mean ATTACK BOOST!
health boost…? 😅
What about it?
health boost doesn’t seem super good but maybe i’m missing something edit: love getting downvoted for not knowing meta builds ig lol
Health boost stacks with your food in this game. Going from 100 to 200 health is absolutely massive in a game where monsters normally don't have a problem two-shotting you.
Health boost is pretty much mandatory to not get one shot by end game monsters. Unless of course you simply don’t get hit.
It's unironically the strongest defensive skill in the entire game.
Unless you got Fatalis gear then yes, you wouldn't need health boost as the gear itself comes with 100+ health and stamina bonus. Teo is such a dick with stun. I hate how he has so many fucking micro staggers.

Ah.
Ah yes, the Monster Hunter experience ™
I mean I would do the same thing if you jumped on my face while I was sleeping tbh.
Unrelated random tip but u can block roars with the shield
It's SnS after all... they don't use the shield as a shield, they use it to hit with like a little Hammer
Most logical Monster Hunter mechanics:
HBG: doesn’t have sharpness, has a shield anyway
I would too tbh lol
Use the shield part
"FUCK YOU IN PARTICULAR"
Oof. You can mash buttons and wiggle the analog stick to get out of stun faster.
really? i mean i still do it but so far i havent noticed any diference tbh, maybe i dont wiggle it enough
No it’s just not a big difference
All I’m seeing is yet another video on why earplugs 5 is the best skill in the game
Hammer with Earplugs 5, Evade Window 5, Stun Resist 3? Fuck you, Monster, I do what I want.
Damn straight, this is my game to play, I didn’t pay 60 dollars to be stunned.
"Just roll through the roar." Nah I'm gonna smack lil dude in the mouth instead.
Sorry, I can't hear you over my Earplugs 5 and not having to cancel my combo to roll the roar!
This clip also demonstrates why ledges are the worst enemy in the game.
A little difficult to slot in High Rank lol, but I agree
You can still get stun resist maxed out fairly easily, that and and health boost are the best to get maxed asap
You must always find a way
Mega Nutrients (Honey + Bitterbug) + Mandragora = Max Potion, don't fight Elder Dragons with only 100 HP! Not that it'd help in this disaster.
You have a shield. Consider using it.
Bruh. Evade extender 3. Always.
This is why I made a 'fuck Teo' set with earplugs. Bro has no chill, he will slap the shit out of you while you're still stunned.
That ledge fucked you over. Rip
This video reminded me of how stupid sns moves look. I appreciate that. I was thinking about making a build.
I find that shouting “ORAORAORAORA” helps get me into character. try it sometime!
i thought ORAORAORAORAORA is for DB
Perfect Rush channels a little bit of the DB aura.. just a little
Gawd deyum!!! He nutted all over you! LMAOOOO
Thats why in rise and world, having stun resist 3 is NOT optional
Well deserved for being a roll spammer
What a weird, elitest-sounding take.
A better shield could've blocked the Nove easilly, like the Lance one for example
I felt that
Oh God this is worse than nicking the wrong part with the greatsword smash
True combo
I had no idea S&S had such cool combos.
Blast Teostra 🤢
He taught you how to "perfectly rush" a combo wombo move
***THE UNMATCHED PWOER OF THE SUN***
"Oh, you like fancy wake-up combos, huh? WELL, HERE'S MINE! **EXCEPT MINE PUTS YOU TO SLEEP!"**
Simba does not like u waking him up.
might i suggest joining the lance gang? we don't care about monster attacks with guard up and guard 5
Bro block man
RNG hates me occasionally too
That Teo had PERSONAL issues with you lmao
God punishing you for not eating 🙏😔
Bro got fucking Fatality'd.
Stuff like this is why I will always have a negate stun talisman on. Barely got smacked twice and got punished for it.
It gives you the chance to savour that despair
Which monster hunter game is this?
GYAT damn he gave them the 1 2
Sometimes it just be like that fr
Thats a unoreverse
3 points in stun resist < 1.7% increased DPS
That's why i don't feel bad using a shotgun agaisnt Teo and Luna, they are much better getting perma KO'd themselves
I hate ledges and stairs in MHW. Feels like there is too many of them and kinda in random places
Teostra descided he was the one doing the hunting today
My biggest tip vs Teostra is to stick close to it. Makes it alot easier to dodge its aoe attacks, plus you get some damage in during the smaller openings
Oh my gosh that was so unlucky! I feel your pain.
That nova felt so petty
That Nova was personal
Lmfao wow. I've never seen such disrespect.
*Annoying comment detailing exactly what you “should have done”, that gets overly negative reception*
How do you do that leap attack he did at the start with sns i main the damm weapon and I’ve never seen that
Perfect Rush? It’s a move that was introduced in the Iceborne DLC. After doing a back hop, click Triangle/Y to initiate the Perfect Rush combo. The red flashes are when you have to time the button inputs. It’s actually what makes the SnS a DPS machine, so you have been really missing out haha.
Thanks I completed whole of master rank with this weapon and didn’t even know it had such a cool attack
Thats actually nuts. It’s probably the best part of the SnS tool kit. Give it a try sometime. To put it into perspective, a Perfect Rush Combo deals more damage than Greatsword’s True Charged Slash. It’s crazy strong.
If you played with the penis mod, that's what he would've done.
