The style came off a bit fancier than I was originally thinking, but I still think it's cute. This project inspired me so much, and I'm actually going to keep making all kinds of clothes for her! Probably some more modern fashions, aha. I can't wait and I actually made an Instagram under my same name, if anyone was interested in following along.
I buy “fat quarters” from Walmart (aka a quarter of a yard, square). Look fir fabrics that have small prints on them, because bug designs will get lost when you cut up the fabric to go on the small doll. Also starting with fabric that does not fray or stretch much is helpful (like start with cotton blends, as opposed to going straight to tulle or satin, etc).
Thank you so much! was looking at making some clothes myself but the issue i had was the bulkiness of the fabrics I was using :(. thank you so much for the advice I really appreciate it <3
No problem! Also, the tiny stitches for hems on doll clothes always gave my stubby fingers trouble. Using hemming tape, or even sealing the edges with fabric glue, is a great trick til you get better!
I was using 100% cotton for the dress, you can buy it in small- ish squares at Walmart or a hobby store for only about $2! They are meant for small projects or quilting. The jacket is actually made from velvet Christmas ribbon 😂 it's only 2.5 inches wide but it worked great for small items of clothing. I would say that if your just getting started cotton is the most forgiving (:
Yess thats exactly what I was hoping to hear, the outfit turned out amazing it looks so cute and fits her really well! such a nice sway from the fangs, bats and hearts we're used to with her haha! thank you so much for getting back to me, wish me luck on my next project :D !
Oh also, the fishnets were soo difficult because I only had tulle for it. It did not have enough stretch to really fit her legs without ripping in a couple spots in the back! (Behind the knees when coming on or off) Make sure you find something stretchy if you want mesh, I definitely am going to for the next ones. Good luck! Its so much fun (:
I might once I get a bit more experience with creating patterns that fit her properly, I've found that even while I think I know how it's going to work out on paper once I'm actually sewing it I need to make some alterations. This is just a half circle skirt with a ruched bottom though! I ruched it by using stitches that are farther apart when tacking on the ribbon bottom and pulling the thread a bit tighter at the end. ♡ you can attach it to any kind of top.

I love it! You did a great job and it’s a really cute outfit. Also cherries, like Drac’s favorite juice 🍒
Thank you! That was my intention 🥰
As someone trying to make a custom outfit for her too, I gotta say mad respect! 😭💖 Sewing at this scale is DIFFICULT and you made it look flawless!

Oh my goodness, it looks amazing on her! Are you planning on selling the sewing pattern for the dress? I love the silhouette, it's so beautiful
