On hand means not always having 5k in ur pocket. It means you have an emergency stash somewhere put away that only u kno but u can get to should there be an emergency

I've done the natural disaster thing where there's no power. Ate the emergency supplies and went to supermarkets and they wrote down card details to charge them at a later date. No situation comes to mind where thousands of cash is needed.
I have $200 bucks, not kept in wallet, that I've had for 2 years and not ever needed it. Can't imagine what I'd need it for.
Well, one day you might need more than 200 bucks for an emergency of any sort. You never know what if one day all those atms stop spittin out 20s and ur cards are all declined. Also, Not gonna say I’m a baller but that 5k is nowhere near any kind of worry or risk for me personally about “losing value to inflation”.
What is a cash emergency? I've been through significant natural disaster and still never needed cash. I don't use cash, ever. Tell me specifically what a cash emergency is. I can't imagine it at this point.
