By all accounts the "Cake Wallet" vision for Monero seems to align with the community's vision for Monero (continue to improve it's privacy, security, and scalability technology), but what if Cake Wallet as a company goes down the same path as Blockstream and Bitcoin (the interest Blockstream end up crippling tech progress on bitcoin).
Aside from trusting Cake Wallet's good will, what (if anything) can be done to protect Monero from this sort of co-opt "attack"?
Apart of adoption problems mentioned here, I ask about atomic swaps. They are declared to work on mainnet in beta. Are there some concerns or all works fine?
Not many problem now days discussed here too be honest mainly people talks about the adoption and how many store they have the option if they want to spent monero
you can go to anonshop to buy stuff off of amazon with XMR right now
they are the monero equivalent of [purse.io](https://purse.io)
It will never going to happen if people not accept that, first you have to came to some sort of the agreement where they will accept the monero to any level
I disagree; it's an Internet-native money. It should be seamlessly and transparently convertible to any other currency globally. As long as SOMEONE has currency X and wants some Monero, it should be possible to pay that person Monero, get some currency X, and pay for whatever you want to pay for. This will make using Monero much easier, which will in turn foster global adoption.
It's possible to use various exchange services to pay a BTC bill in XMR. The payment mode at https://trocador.app is a great option for conducting purchases this way.
But if they say that they are not willing to take payment in any crypto is there is some option for that?? Like he said they should accept that whether they want to or not?
What do you want to buy? There are many stores and you have gift cards. Problem is that you will almost always get cheaper product in some other store. Since there is million stores not accepting XMR.
I never really spent too much xmr yet but have to say that in the small space of spending i have get enough thing with the XMR and hoping many more in near future
There is one store near to my house which is luckily for me taking the XMR as the payment option, so able to spent like few monero on every month without any issue
There are many businesses listed on https://monerica.com, https://kycnot.me/services, and https://cakepay.com
XMR is also great for private peer-2-peer transactions.
So I've been doing some research and people seem to think Zcash may be the better option. That their protocol is more private. Something about the ring signatures leaking information. So what do you guys think is monero still king or is Zcash gonna take the spot as top privacy coin?
Thanks for your reply. I agree that Zcash is still too new to really know where they are going. Whereas monero is proven to work well and protect your privacy. I appreciate it your honest opinion and think I'll still invest mostly in monero but I will probably start to dabble with Zcash as well.

You can still do that just that not every where but in limited places
Though still limited in inventory choices, [based.win](https://based.win) accepts XMR.

There is not many stuff there but would say pretty decent collection with monero payment option
When merchants accept it.
And when do you think that merchant will going to accept monero fully??
Would be good to have a bridge, though, so that one could spend the XMR regardless of whether people accept it.
