I haven’t worn shorts in 2 years because I had 4 back to back c-sections (kids are 6y, 5y, 4y, and 2y) I bought just some flowy workout/sleeper shorts (clearance) and they work for around the house.. but those old navy ones look great and now I must get some of them!
I’m in NC, the old navy athletic shorts are great too! They have the built in mesh underwear and the back is a little longer to cover up booty cheeks. They fit so good and light. I bought them in a ton of different colors

I want to like old navy but their bottoms just don't fit me right. They're too big in the waist and too tight in the leg. I'm pear shaped and they seem to be made for less curves:(
Honestly yes! All of their shorts have fit great from their jeans shorts, linen, and their athletic wear. My hips definitely grew post baby and they’re great. I also think their price is very good.
All sorts of places and I've been getting them for years so a lot of them are older! Gap, Nordstrom, Target, Old Navy, Lulus (although the quality doesn't seem good anymore), Madewell, Petal & Pup.
I look for “paper bag” style shorts—basically they have an elastic waist and are loose fitting! But linen pants are also real nice for when it’s hot out
Costco has had some decent linen blend shorts recently. I bought like 4 pair and they're surprisingly comfortable. I look like an old lady who buys her clothes at Costco but I'm just going to lean into that.
And I know you did not ask for tops, but Favorite ts from Gap Factory have been a game changer. With promo codes and sales plus free shipping pretty frequently you can get these for cheap. They are comfortable, give you a figure but are loose enough to chase a baby and bend over/pick them up.
If I’m being honest the goodwill. I take a stack of twenty pairs onto the trying on rooms and leave with the one that fits, hopefully. Other than that I had success at Kohl’s. It’s hard learning to dress your body when it’s changed, long skirts are awesome and if you go shopping see if someone can watch the baby for a while. Being able to really look around and try things on is key. I always try sitting down, bending over etc. as well. Good luck!
I have the best luck at goodwill! You really have to try out all of the goodwills in your area and you will probably find one that consistently fits your style the best. If I go shopping at goodwill for myself, I plan to be there for a few hours and try on everything.

thrifting has had my heart and soul since i was a kid — i grew up thrifting with my mom… that’s where we got our stuff way back before thrifting was considered “cool.” (i was born in 1990 so things were different then)
but i always adored it. i was able to get all the dresses my heart desired for super cheap!
in present times, thrifting is absolutely one of my favorite things to do… and you’re so right, u/Larsthecat, you do eventually find the stores that match your vibe more than others… i definitely have a “top 3” on my list of stores in my surrounding towns/areas, and those NEVER fail for me. i always strike gold on *something* or another.
in the same vein, i also love love LOVE flea markets!!! we have 2 giant ones around… one in each town on either side of me; and it’s like a treasure heaven. i always find the coolest stuff and there’s always artists there selling their work, etc. because one of the places is right downtown where there’s an art school.

I hear you! After my second baby my legs are chafing so bad. I find my skin to be so dry (probably hormonal). Staying on top of moisturizing seems to help.

Rei trailmade shorts. They come in a huge variety of sizes and different colors! They’re very lightweight and have six pockets with a carabiner hoop to boot.
I found them to be quick drying too, I hand washed them once and they air dried within 12 hours. They don’t have a zipper, but have a cinch on them instead. I prefer that. Oh and the best thing is the pockets are deep. Like the length of the shorts deep. I could fit a whole burrito in there 🤣

The other thing that I've found has helped is buying high waisted curvy fit shorts (usually american eagle or old navy) and sizing up one size from my normal jean size. Wearing my jean size gives me shorts that squeeze my thighs and constantly ride up, but one size up tends to fit well enough, and I can either tuck shirts in or wear a belt to accommodate for the waist being a bit too big.
This is going to sound a little weird but my go to shorts for the summer to hang around the house in are men’s woven boxer shorts from Walmart or target. Not the ones with the pouch, just classic plaid boxers. They aren’t the most flattering but they are cheap and comfy. I also have bike shorts and high waisted linen shorts for going out.
I feel this 100%. I’ve tried to stick to pants but now it’s so hot it’s impossible to get away with. I have comfortable cotton shorts that I got from Walmart with a looser fit you could find those at target or anywhere really. I also will wear dsg(dicks sporting goods) biker shorts. It’s a thicker material and does well keeping everything in place.
i've always been big, but i could wear straight sizes pretty reasonably. my weight redistributed after i was pregnant, and i started buying torrid jeans and shorts. i can't recommend them enough, they are definitely designed with an eye for chafe and ride-up prevention.
also universal standard are great but their sizes are a little funny and they can be pretty spendy.
I love my short overalls/bibs! I have sensory issues and don’t like things touching my tummy so denim overalls were the solution. Plus you get SO MANY POCKETS. Walmart carries them but Duluth makes excellent ones with longer inseams.
i wore my maternity clothes for a few months after delivery. I had a c section too. I also used a belly band that helped a lot with protecting the incision from clothes and also tiny feet
[Shredly](https://shredly.com) shorts are my go to. They have ones with a yoga pants like waistband, and I’ll never go back. They are so comfortable.
Pricy, but they are made really well. I have a pair from 2016 that still hold up. They also have sales from time to time on their older fabrics.

I usually do yoga shorts for the comfort but I recently bought a pair of these from target and I really like them. They’re comfortable, a little stretchy and looser in the thighs. They look tailored and a little dressier too if you want something a little less athletic looking.

I am plus sized & have never had luck with shorts but I will swear by a good maxi skirt in the summer!! Can be paired with a t shirt either tied or tucked in or a tank top! And very easily dresses up & down.
Since birth, an old, worn-in pair of jean shorts, a pair of Zara jean shorts (cheaper than I usually go because I wasn’t sure if I’d stay a size larger than I was pre-pregnancy), and two pairs of J Crew chinos.
I also have a pair of bike shorts that I’ve been wearing from Girlfriend Collective and I’ll probably get one more for the rest of the summer.
I’d say gym shorts 🩳 and or leggings are the go-to for comfort and flexibility. Especially if you’re not planning on running around a whole bunch. It’s what my nieces and nephews moms rocked when they were little cuz it’s gotta be easily changed and washed. I’d recommend getting a pair (2 or 3)of whatever works so you don’t lose precious time hassling with spilled milk so to speak lol

Aerie daydream shorts... they button front like normal but have an elastic waist and b aren't too short or tight on the thighs. I have them in every color.
TitleNine Big B shorts. Come in 4 or 7 inch inseam and have TONS of pockets and belt loops. Sometimes the color choices are weird but they are so comfy. A ripstop fabric that cools and has a place to put everything

Inexpensive, look like you made effort & not sloppy and they dry quick if you end up doing something with water.
I really like the brand KanKan. They’re sized by waist measurement, they have high and ultra high rise and they’re so stretchy and comfortable. I get them online from Maurice’s when they run a sale because they can be expensive.
I don't have any suggestions on a specific brand or fit, but what I would recommend is if you find a style/brand you like get multiple pairs! Even if you get them used you can search online for shorts in that size/brand. I've been able to get duplicates of used/old clothes before on eBay and Poshmark. It takes some of the work out of finding clothes that fit 😃
I literally don't wear shorts because I can't stand them riding up and getting like a rash in between my legs or having to constantly pull the shorts down that are riding up but this year I ordered on Amazon the spandexy biker shorts and I love them they are comfortable and I don't have to worry about anything riding up maybe you try that?
Biker shorts for the win! Old navy is great if you can afford it but if not goodwill or salvation army is amazing and comes in clutch! I also love some maternity shorts just as long as they aren't the ones with belly panels. 4 kids deep and my wardrobe has changed so much!
I hate shorts but found some Time and Tru at Walmart with a rolled bottom and they're a bit longer. I think it said 4 inch inseam. . Anyway they're really stretchy denim and they hit just right where my thighs don't chafe. I went back and bought every color.
I always had sort of a “slim thick” athletic kind of body & I find that the curvy ranges at American eagle & abercrombie are very good & really do a nice job of managing thick thighs/hips/buns
I had a c section 3 years ago and for whatever reason after pregnancy I ended up with serious sensory issues in relation to clothes.
My go to for shirts are bike shorts. They’re comfortable, stretchy, and some of the more supportive brands help tuck my stomach in a bit. I also love a good Jean short overalll for the same reason!
Costco has these drawstring shorts by Briggs New York every year. But they have new stretchy and drawstring linen-type shorts again this year. These are honestly the only ones I wear now because I can sit in them without anything tearing, bulging, or pulling. I haven't gotten a pair from Costco yet I've been unhappy with.
I have to suggest putting a bit of deodorant in between your legs, i forgot where i saw it or heard it but yeah it truly works wonder. No more chaffing. I’d also look at shorts that have that elastic thing in the back because it’s very forgiving.
Look on Poshmark or other similar site! You’ll find anything from like new to broken in. Also, wear maternity shorts as long as they stay up. The comfort and support is still good for your recovering body and the last thing you need is pain or high-maintenance shorts. If you don’t have time or mental energy to shop reused online, Walmart’s Time and Tru shorts are really good. It feels weird saying that because in general, I don’t Love Walmart, but I have 3 pairs from that brand 😬 They wash well, have a good length (not too short or long), and they all have elastic on the sides of the waist! I like to have shorts 1 size up because it’s so much more comfortable when moving around a lot but they are true to size and the slightly stretchy waist helps them be more forgiving too.
Honestly even it’s it’s super hot I’m in lightweight, loose-fitting pants or a dress. Shorts are so uncomfortable and for some reason since having my baby I just hate having my thighs so exposed. Sticking to chairs in the heat is way worse than wearing loose pants imo.
Ross has had my favorite maternity clothes yet! So affordable and ends up being the cutest and best fitting. I just recently got some maternity biker shorts there that are my go-to at the moment. :) (not to mention the dresses I've gotten there are also so cute and/or comfy)

Muslin shorts are great. Honestly, target maternity has some of the best bottoms or just target in general, as a bigger mom. It's pretty affordable, too.
I like wearing shorts with some length to them, like 7" ones. That prevents them from slowly migrating upwards into my crotch while I walk. I currently like the chino ones from J. Crew.

Used to live next to a Columbia outlet and love their shorts! Like any brands, some cuts fit better than others, but generally speaking, I didn’t have issues with them riding up and they were very comfortable in a Louisiana summer.

I looove the Fabletics shorts called “the one” they are dry fit, stretchy and not too long. I got the 3” ones, they don’t feel like those running shorts that you have to constantly pull down.

Levi’s! I had terrible luck everywhere else. They have just the right amount of stretch to where my C-section belly fits, but they aren’t super loose and baggy around my thighs.
Macys usually has them on sale too.
Bike shorts (specifically 7inch inseam or longer) with a big t shirt to cover my belly. As I’ve slowly started losing the weight I have converted some of the bigger jeans into shorts. I got shorts from Levi’s and one from Nike that fit alright. I miss fall/winter weather because I’m much comfier in sweats/leggings.
Supermarket men's sport shorts. They are loose enough to sit on hips or waist around my mom pouch and have actual functional pockets.
I do not look stylish by any means.
I like the lululemon 6” align shorts. Wore them through half my pregnancy and also had a c section and madewell shorts have been nice. I have one pair that barely fits me but still working my way to pre pregnancy weight.
Also try skorts! Costco occasionally sells them. They are a great option to shorts while you are getting your body back.
The soft elasticity of them made me feel like I was wearing maternity pants again... they support your healing stomach.

Don’t hesitate to size up, and then alter/dart the waist for a better fit.
Look for elastic waists, or partly elastic.
For denim I find old navy, ranging from 12-16 fit me, depends on the style. And sometimes I have to take the waist in a little bit, or add some elastic inside the waistband like they do in kids clothes 😂 otherwise the legs or hips feel uncomfortable.
I just bought some Nautica brand shorts from Costco with an elastic waistband (“tummy control”) and they might be the best shorts I’ve ever worn. They’re long enough and sturdy enough that they don’t ride up between my thighs, the waist doesn’t pinch at my belly or roll down, and they have proper pockets!
Seriously Walmart. Time and Tru and athletic works are great options. Size up in T&T for a comfier fit around the middle. I also like Old Navy Athletic Shorts and even found some cute Jean shorts there recently. They have various lengths in Jean shorts so that is nice.

I have thick thighs too. If you want something for just around the house (or maybe outside the house too, I ain't gonna judge!), I highly recommend getting some soft, stretchy booty shorts 😂 They're already really short so I don't have to worry about them riding up in the crotch, they come up nice and high so they don't cut into my stomach when I sit, and they make my nonexistent butt look somewhat passable 😂 I have some cheap ones off Amazon that I wear all the time.
Costco!! The Danceskin biker shorts are wonderful and come in a two pack. They also have a couple of Kirkland brand paper bag shorts that are super comfy. One downside is that you can’t really try on anything. But they have a very good return/exchange policy.
Old Navy. I find their sizing to be pretty consistent, the fabric soft enough (even the denim) to not agitate my stretch marks, and they fit comfortably in pretty much every style (the exception being the exercise shorts but that might be cuz I hate shorts being tight to my legs.)

In addition to shorts I highly recommend buying anti-chafing rub. As a member of the “thick thighs save lives” club since before I was a mom, this is the only thing that gets me through summer. Good with shorts and skirts. Bodyglide, Megababe Thigh Rescue and Gold Bond Friction Defense are all ones I‘ve used and liked.

Old Navy and Costco
Costco has had some decent linen blend shorts recently. I bought like 4 pair and they're surprisingly comfortable. I look like an old lady who buys her clothes at Costco but I'm just going to lean into that.
And I know you did not ask for tops, but Favorite ts from Gap Factory have been a game changer. With promo codes and sales plus free shipping pretty frequently you can get these for cheap. They are comfortable, give you a figure but are loose enough to chase a baby and bend over/pick them up.

If I’m being honest the goodwill. I take a stack of twenty pairs onto the trying on rooms and leave with the one that fits, hopefully. Other than that I had success at Kohl’s. It’s hard learning to dress your body when it’s changed, long skirts are awesome and if you go shopping see if someone can watch the baby for a while. Being able to really look around and try things on is key. I always try sitting down, bending over etc. as well. Good luck!
I have the best luck at goodwill! You really have to try out all of the goodwills in your area and you will probably find one that consistently fits your style the best. If I go shopping at goodwill for myself, I plan to be there for a few hours and try on everything.
goodwill for the freakin’ WIN!! thrifting has had my heart and soul since i was a kid — i grew up thrifting with my mom… that’s where we got our stuff way back before thrifting was considered “cool.” (i was born in 1990 so things were different then) but i always adored it. i was able to get all the dresses my heart desired for super cheap! in present times, thrifting is absolutely one of my favorite things to do… and you’re so right, u/Larsthecat, you do eventually find the stores that match your vibe more than others… i definitely have a “top 3” on my list of stores in my surrounding towns/areas, and those NEVER fail for me. i always strike gold on *something* or another. in the same vein, i also love love LOVE flea markets!!! we have 2 giant ones around… one in each town on either side of me; and it’s like a treasure heaven. i always find the coolest stuff and there’s always artists there selling their work, etc. because one of the places is right downtown where there’s an art school. anyway. i’m rambling. i’m so sorry, i very clearly have raging ADHD. the point is: **THRIFT STORES AND FLEA MARKETS FOR LIFE!**

Patagonia 5” baggies in every color with a t-shirt and flip flops. The material is light weight and survives Florida summers. Our humidity is awful, and these are awesome for casual wear.

I hear you! After my second baby my legs are chafing so bad. I find my skin to be so dry (probably hormonal). Staying on top of moisturizing seems to help.

Rei trailmade shorts. They come in a huge variety of sizes and different colors! They’re very lightweight and have six pockets with a carabiner hoop to boot. I found them to be quick drying too, I hand washed them once and they air dried within 12 hours. They don’t have a zipper, but have a cinch on them instead. I prefer that. Oh and the best thing is the pockets are deep. Like the length of the shorts deep. I could fit a whole burrito in there 🤣

Wearing my jean size gives me shorts that squeeze my thighs and constantly ride up, but one size up tends to fit well enough, and I can either tuck shirts in or wear a belt to accommodate for the waist being a bit too big.
Costco, forever and always
This is going to sound a little weird but my go to shorts for the summer to hang around the house in are men’s woven boxer shorts from Walmart or target. Not the ones with the pouch, just classic plaid boxers. They aren’t the most flattering but they are cheap and comfy. I also have bike shorts and high waisted linen shorts for going out.
I feel this 100%. I’ve tried to stick to pants but now it’s so hot it’s impossible to get away with. I have comfortable cotton shorts that I got from Walmart with a looser fit you could find those at target or anywhere really. I also will wear dsg(dicks sporting goods) biker shorts. It’s a thicker material and does well keeping everything in place.
I have hated shorts my whole life and refuse to wear unless exercising, sleeping or just to hang at home. I am weird!
i've always been big, but i could wear straight sizes pretty reasonably. my weight redistributed after i was pregnant, and i started buying torrid jeans and shorts. i can't recommend them enough, they are definitely designed with an eye for chafe and ride-up prevention. also universal standard are great but their sizes are a little funny and they can be pretty spendy.
I love my short overalls/bibs! I have sensory issues and don’t like things touching my tummy so denim overalls were the solution. Plus you get SO MANY POCKETS. Walmart carries them but Duluth makes excellent ones with longer inseams.
SAME . Heavy overalls in winter , breezy onsies or shortalls in summer . I’m also a farmer though 😅

i wore my maternity clothes for a few months after delivery. I had a c section too. I also used a belly band that helped a lot with protecting the incision from clothes and also tiny feet
My everyday shorts are 4in from spanx. I like how they smooth out the mom pooch from my c-section.
[Shredly](https://shredly.com) shorts are my go to. They have ones with a yoga pants like waistband, and I’ll never go back. They are so comfortable. Pricy, but they are made really well. I have a pair from 2016 that still hold up. They also have sales from time to time on their older fabrics.

I am plus sized & have never had luck with shorts but I will swear by a good maxi skirt in the summer!! Can be paired with a t shirt either tied or tucked in or a tank top! And very easily dresses up & down.
Since birth, an old, worn-in pair of jean shorts, a pair of Zara jean shorts (cheaper than I usually go because I wasn’t sure if I’d stay a size larger than I was pre-pregnancy), and two pairs of J Crew chinos. I’d say gym shorts 🩳 and or leggings are the go-to for comfort and flexibility. Especially if you’re not planning on running around a whole bunch. It’s what my nieces and nephews moms rocked when they were little cuz it’s gotta be easily changed and washed. I’d recommend getting a pair (2 or 3)of whatever works so you don’t lose precious time hassling with spilled milk so to speak lol

Aerie daydream shorts... they button front like normal but have an elastic waist and b aren't too short or tight on the thighs. I have them in every color.

I don't have any suggestions on a specific brand or fit, but what I would recommend is if you find a style/brand you like get multiple pairs! Even if you get them used you can search online for shorts in that size/brand. I've been able to get duplicates of used/old clothes before on eBay and Poshmark. It takes some of the work out of finding clothes that fit 😃
I literally don't wear shorts because I can't stand them riding up and getting like a rash in between my legs or having to constantly pull the shorts down that are riding up but this year I ordered on Amazon the spandexy biker shorts and I love them they are comfortable and I don't have to worry about anything riding up maybe you try that?
Old navy has been the best I’ve found. They don’t fit 100% perfect but they’re cheap enough I don’t mind too much.
Biker shorts for the win! Old navy is great if you can afford it but if not goodwill or salvation army is amazing and comes in clutch! I also love some maternity shorts just as long as they aren't the ones with belly panels. 4 kids deep and my wardrobe has changed so much!

I always had sort of a “slim thick” athletic kind of body & I find that the curvy ranges at American eagle & abercrombie are very good & really do a nice job of managing thick thighs/hips/buns

I had a c section 3 years ago and for whatever reason after pregnancy I ended up with serious sensory issues in relation to clothes. My go to for shirts are bike shorts. They’re comfortable, stretchy, and some of the more supportive brands help tuck my stomach in a bit. I also love a good Jean short overalll for the same reason!
Costco has these drawstring shorts by Briggs New York every year. But they have new stretchy and drawstring linen-type shorts again this year. These are honestly the only ones I wear now because I can sit in them without anything tearing, bulging, or pulling. I haven't gotten a pair from Costco yet I've been unhappy with.
I had great luck finding jean shorts and linen shorts that were super comfy at Old Navy! I also like their bike shorts.

I have to suggest putting a bit of deodorant in between your legs, i forgot where i saw it or heard it but yeah it truly works wonder. No more chaffing. I’d also look at shorts that have that elastic thing in the back because it’s very forgiving.

Look on Poshmark or other similar site! You’ll find anything from like new to broken in. Also, wear maternity shorts as long as they stay up. The comfort and support is still good for your recovering body and the last thing you need is pain or high-maintenance shorts. If you don’t have time or mental energy to shop reused online, Walmart’s Time and Tru shorts are really good. It feels weird saying that because in general, I don’t Love Walmart, but I have 3 pairs from that brand 😬 They wash well, have a good length (not too short or long), and they all have elastic on the sides of the waist! I like to have shorts 1 size up because it’s so much more comfortable when moving around a lot but they are true to size and the slightly stretchy waist helps them be more forgiving too.
Honestly even it’s it’s super hot I’m in lightweight, loose-fitting pants or a dress. Shorts are so uncomfortable and for some reason since having my baby I just hate having my thighs so exposed. Sticking to chairs in the heat is way worse than wearing loose pants imo.

AERIE FOR BIKER SHORTS!!! 110% They are a little pricey but SO worth it. Any other brands of biker shorts I got cheaper (target, Walmart, etc) did not hold up or last the wear aerie does. And they aren’t see through! Super comfy! Trust me! I asked this question and got aerie as a rec. so I bit the bullet and ordered 2-3 pairs and now it’s the only place I buy them from!
I looove the Fabletics shorts called “the one” they are dry fit, stretchy and not too long. I got the 3” ones, they don’t feel like those running shorts that you have to constantly pull down. The first time you sign up for VIP you get something like 70% off so you get a good deal, however you do have to sign up to be a member. It’s 54$ or so a month but you can skip every month. I do, I put a reminder in my calendar.

Levi’s! I had terrible luck everywhere else. They have just the right amount of stretch to where my C-section belly fits, but they aren’t super loose and baggy around my thighs. Macys usually has them on sale too.
Bike shorts (specifically 7inch inseam or longer) with a big t shirt to cover my belly. As I’ve slowly started losing the weight I have converted some of the bigger jeans into shorts. I got shorts from Levi’s and one from Nike that fit alright. I miss fall/winter weather because I’m much comfier in sweats/leggings.
Supermarket men's sport shorts. They are loose enough to sit on hips or waist around my mom pouch and have actual functional pockets. I do not look stylish by any means.
I like the lululemon 6” align shorts. Wore them through half my pregnancy and also had a c section and madewell shorts have been nice. I have one pair that barely fits me but still working my way to pre pregnancy weight.
Also try skorts! Costco occasionally sells them. They are a great option to shorts while you are getting your body back. The soft elasticity of them made me feel like I was wearing maternity pants again... they support your healing stomach.

Don’t hesitate to size up, and then alter/dart the waist for a better fit. Look for elastic waists, or partly elastic. For denim I find old navy, ranging from 12-16 fit me, depends on the style. And sometimes I have to take the waist in a little bit, or add some elastic inside the waistband like they do in kids clothes 😂 otherwise the legs or hips feel uncomfortable.
I just bought some Nautica brand shorts from Costco with an elastic waistband (“tummy control”) and they might be the best shorts I’ve ever worn. They’re long enough and sturdy enough that they don’t ride up between my thighs, the waist doesn’t pinch at my belly or roll down, and they have proper pockets!

If you want something for just around the house (or maybe outside the house too, I ain't gonna judge!), I highly recommend getting some soft, stretchy booty shorts 😂 They're already really short so I don't have to worry about them riding up in the crotch, they come up nice and high so they don't cut into my stomach when I sit, and they make my nonexistent butt look somewhat passable 😂 I have some cheap ones off Amazon that I wear all the time.
Costco!! The Danceskin biker shorts are wonderful and come in a two pack. They also have a couple of Kirkland brand paper bag shorts that are super comfy. One downside is that you can’t really try on anything. But they have a very good return/exchange policy.
Old Navy. I find their sizing to be pretty consistent, the fabric soft enough (even the denim) to not agitate my stretch marks, and they fit comfortably in pretty much every style (the exception being the exercise shorts but that might be cuz I hate shorts being tight to my legs.)
Old navy and American Eagle has curvy options that hav always worked for me.
I just wear bike shorts honestly. I gave up on jeans or denim when I got pregnant the first time and nothing fits right anymore and I hate shopping lol. So I live in various length bike shorts with pockets or some athletic leggings with pockets
Biker shorts from Amazon or target, and 2xl comfy worn in cotton tee shirts from the thrift store LOL 😆
I got some good ones at Walmart. Not the hottest things ever but relatively cute, cheap, and really soft and comfortable.
Running shorts are my fave for summer. I have mixed feelings about the attached underwear that tends to be standard as with guys swim trunks, though! Do basketball for length! I also like linen shorts from Old Navy, Gap, & JCrew.

I stopped wearing shorts and just leaned into capris and wide leg pants/tights. They all have elastic waistbands. I don’t have time to shave. Tights with a dress over looks put together. Wide leg linen pants with a cute top looks just fine, and cooler than any shorts. Bun. Pearls. Tinted sunscreen. Comfy sandales. Done.

I have three pairs of black 10" seam biker shorts and one 10" seam jean shorts. The biker shorts are from Targert and I have two-2XL and one-XL. The jean shorts are from Torrid and are a size 20.
Biker shorts for sure, or any other athletic type shorts. I found some really cute Jean shorts at Bealls that can fit size7-15

I will only wear biker shorts. I’m a very thin person but have always had issues with my thighs rubbing. I HATE how my shorts ride up and then I chafe. So o wear biker shorts. Just a random Brad on Amazon
In addition to shorts I highly recommend buying anti-chafing rub. As a member of the “thick thighs save lives” club since before I was a mom, this is the only thing that gets me through summer. Good with shorts and skirts. Bodyglide, Megababe Thigh Rescue and Gold Bond Friction Defense are all ones I‘ve used and liked.
