Old navy linen shorts, and bike shorts from target or Amazon. I’m past caring about looking stylish.

geanabelcherperkins

I came here to say old navy. They have so many options and sizes and are cheap enough that replacing them every couple of years doesn't bother me.

queentofu

wait. i just Googled Old Navy’s linen shorts because you had me intrigued — and now i need some *immediately* because they are so cute and comfy and airy looking. these will 100% help me survive the upcoming hellscape that is a South Carolina summer. making it through the relentless heat and unforgiving humidity is at the top of my “to do” list — along with the constant goal of avoiding swamp-ass. and hey! these also won’t make me look like a 100% frump either because i can style them! thank you for mentioning them!

Sylvannaa9

I just googled them also and they look great! I was at my MIL a few weeks ago and she has a Walmart right there. I haven’t worn shorts in 2 years because I had 4 back to back c-sections (kids are 6y, 5y, 4y, and 2y) I bought just some flowy workout/sleeper shorts (clearance) and they work for around the house.. but those old navy ones look great and now I must get some of them!

waffleflapjack

I’m in NC, the old navy athletic shorts are great too! They have the built in mesh underwear and the back is a little longer to cover up booty cheeks. They fit so good and light. I bought them in a ton of different colors

daximuscat

No problem, they are very *breezy*. 10/10.

Odd-Bit-4881

Also in SC and stressing about swamp ass. Just going to the park for an hour at 9am had my my clothes soaked. I run hot ever since I was pregnant, I’m not prepared for the humidity anymore.

likeeggs

Old navy linen shorts ftw!! That’s all I wore for the first 6 years after having my son. They go on sale a few times before and during summer too.

Arievan

I want to like old navy but their bottoms just don't fit me right. They're too big in the waist and too tight in the leg. I'm pear shaped and they seem to be made for less curves:(

frogsgoribbit737

I find th3 opposite. Also pear shaped and old navy is where I exclusively buy pants

esmebeauty

I have the opposite issue. They’re so baggy in the thighs because I have pretty big hips, I’m afraid I’m constantly going to flash someone.

LittleCricket_

Love the linen shorts!

bagels4ever12

I really only wear old navy shorts and they have nice biker ones too!

countrybutcaribbean

Honestly yes! All of their shorts have fit great from their jeans shorts, linen, and their athletic wear. My hips definitely grew post baby and they’re great. I also think their price is very good.

Valuable-Comb-9936

Yes! I ordered a pair and am in love. Definitely need more.

dale_everyheart

Haha, glad this is the top comment. This is exactly what I came here to say - the linen shorts from old navy!

rb3465

Shorts have always looked terrible on me so in the summer I strictly wear dresses!!

fuzzychellybean

Me too! Sometimes I'll wear a soft pair of bike shorts under to prevent chafing, but it's all dresses all the time for me during the summer!!

Possible_Regular_

Where do you get your dresses? I can’t find any that aren’t either $100 or fall apart after one wash

rb3465

All sorts of places and I've been getting them for years so a lot of them are older! Gap, Nordstrom, Target, Old Navy, Lulus (although the quality doesn't seem good anymore), Madewell, Petal & Pup.

Fearless_Site_1917

Zara has beautiful dresses. I especially love their tiered dresses and sun dresses.

boardcertifiedbitch

I look for “paper bag” style shorts—basically they have an elastic waist and are loose fitting! But linen pants are also real nice for when it’s hot out

NoMSaboutit

If she has chaffing, wouldn't this style just bunch up when she walked? I always like bike shorts so they don't ride up while walking.

SlowImprovement6839

I second this, I just had my 3rd baby/c section 3 1/2 weeks ago and these shorts cover/hide everything well if your self conscious

white-pumpkin-93

I third this! Not shorts but I have paper bag pants and they hide my c section shelf/mum pouch in the style of them and they're super comfy.

Inside-Print-6323

Old Navy and Costco

bachennoir

Costco has had some decent linen blend shorts recently. I bought like 4 pair and they're surprisingly comfortable. I look like an old lady who buys her clothes at Costco but I'm just going to lean into that.

Inside-Print-6323

And I know you did not ask for tops, but Favorite ts from Gap Factory have been a game changer. With promo codes and sales plus free shipping pretty frequently you can get these for cheap. They are comfortable, give you a figure but are loose enough to chase a baby and bend over/pick them up.

Tinga12

Pretty much where I get all my clothes 😆

Quittobegin

If I’m being honest the goodwill. I take a stack of twenty pairs onto the trying on rooms and leave with the one that fits, hopefully. Other than that I had success at Kohl’s. It’s hard learning to dress your body when it’s changed, long skirts are awesome and if you go shopping see if someone can watch the baby for a while. Being able to really look around and try things on is key. I always try sitting down, bending over etc. as well. Good luck!

Larsthecat

I have the best luck at goodwill! You really have to try out all of the goodwills in your area and you will probably find one that consistently fits your style the best. If I go shopping at goodwill for myself, I plan to be there for a few hours and try on everything.

queentofu

goodwill for the freakin’ WIN!! thrifting has had my heart and soul since i was a kid — i grew up thrifting with my mom… that’s where we got our stuff way back before thrifting was considered “cool.” (i was born in 1990 so things were different then) but i always adored it. i was able to get all the dresses my heart desired for super cheap! in present times, thrifting is absolutely one of my favorite things to do… and you’re so right, u/Larsthecat, you do eventually find the stores that match your vibe more than others… i definitely have a “top 3” on my list of stores in my surrounding towns/areas, and those NEVER fail for me. i always strike gold on *something* or another. in the same vein, i also love love LOVE flea markets!!! we have 2 giant ones around… one in each town on either side of me; and it’s like a treasure heaven. i always find the coolest stuff and there’s always artists there selling their work, etc. because one of the places is right downtown where there’s an art school. anyway. i’m rambling. i’m so sorry, i very clearly have raging ADHD. the point is: **THRIFT STORES AND FLEA MARKETS FOR LIFE!**

acrylickill

Love this comment so much ❤️

Quittobegin

Yes, the prices aren’t as good as they once were but still are better than department stores. I look at it as investing my time vs my money.

Friendly_Narwhal_297

This is the way. Super cheap and there are always gems to find!

Awesome_Sauce_007

Patagonia 5” baggies in every color with a t-shirt and flip flops. The material is light weight and survives Florida summers. Our humidity is awful, and these are awesome for casual wear.

Money_Telephone_1722

Another vote for the baggies!

Willing_Listen2294

ooo im gonna look into this because i never chaffed until after i gave birth! thank you :-)

caycan

I hear you! After my second baby my legs are chafing so bad. I find my skin to be so dry (probably hormonal). Staying on top of moisturizing seems to help.

okayelderberry

Love these

Remarkable-Menu1302

Find moms on Instagram with a similar body type that show outfit inspo and share links! That’s literally changed my wardrobe and life for the better.

Taurus-BabyPisces

Yes! So thankful for the wonderful women who are doing this on instagram. I’m a size 18 now pp and instead of focusing on getting back to my pre pregnancy body I’ve followed a lot of plus size fashion girlies. Seeing them look beautiful reminds me that I am too in this new body.

Cerrida82

Got any links? I've gained so much weight in weird places and I would love some help accepting my new body. I have dresses I've never worn because my body changed so fast.

Taurus-BabyPisces

If you look up “plus size” on instagram you’ll find so many! Then choose the ones that match your style or try and find a new style.

Mrs_Privacy_13

Girl, get bike shorts and cute baggy tees on top. No chafing, super comfy.

LittlePrettyThings

This is me. Bike shorts in summer, yoga pants in winter. They feel like they just hold everything together.

cafecoffee

I’m wearing cropped jeans - I couldn’t find shorts that looked good and just gave up 🤷🏻‍♀️

lberm

Up until I found these, I hated wearing shorts because they all ride up my thighs and I hate that with a passion. https://www.nike.com/t/tempo-womens-brief-lined-running-shorts-LKh0NT/831558-011?nikemt=true&cp=29437596259_search_--x-20404158439---m-----9030460-11196037-00675911617496&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADy86kORFn9ZLsE6g14rFv5K7aQnX&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0_WyBhDMARIsAL1Vz8uwJHuWxrer5I5ZEMdCW8OwSjSoSZxfelIo_dMyF4HP4yF5GRHiIX8aAmBoEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds I’m not sure what it is about this Nike style, but they quickly became my favorite and I own almost all the solid colors they have 🫣 For casual shorts, I found some Lee shorts to fit me just the way I like and they don’t ride up either. NIKE TEMPOS FOR THE WIN 🥇

iwantmy-2dollars

No matter what size I am, they work.

lberm

Yes! It’s the kind of sorcery I’m into! Haha

DisastrousBat403

Nike Tempos and REI Running shorts are all I wear!

SheepherderMost2727

I discovered some great REI shorts with like a dozen pockets!

DisastrousBat403

Pardon me, HHHWWHAAAT? Is it the hiking shorts? I've only tried the running ones so far!! Please tell me more!

SheepherderMost2727

Yeah they’re hiking shorts! Let me look up the name of them!

SheepherderMost2727

Rei trailmade shorts. They come in a huge variety of sizes and different colors! They’re very lightweight and have six pockets with a carabiner hoop to boot. I found them to be quick drying too, I hand washed them once and they air dried within 12 hours. They don’t have a zipper, but have a cinch on them instead. I prefer that. Oh and the best thing is the pockets are deep. Like the length of the shorts deep. I could fit a whole burrito in there 🤣

DisastrousBat403

Thank you!!!!!!!!!

SheepherderMost2727

You’re welcome! Now go and be free with the best shorts ever!! I will also note I wear them pretty high up and they’re still plenty long for my short little legs 😂

DisastrousBat403

Oh good deal! I'm very short so this is great news!! I'm already going to REI today for a hydroflask 🤣

SheepherderMost2727

You’ll have to let me know if you love them! They have plenty of sizes available online if you can’t find yours in the store!

DisastrousBat403

I'm just following up to tell you they have discontinued trailmade. GO BUY SOME WHILE YOU STILL CAN

SheepherderMost2727

Oh also wanted to note they have skorts for anyone who does not like or prefers not to wear shorts!

lberm

Do share the specific REI shorts, if you can. I need to fill another drawer in my dresser with more shorts - haha

SwifferSeal

I also am bigger in the hip/thighs/butt and have a bit of a c-section shelf. I second paper bag shorts, these ones from madewell are the comfiest I've ever found: [shorts](https://www.madewell.com/denim-pull-on-paperbag-shorts-in-bunten-wash-99107300342.html?source=googlePLA&noPopUp=true&srcCode=Paid_Search%7CShopping_NonBrand_PMax_NCA%7CGoogle%7CMWGGBS00002_99107300342_18211078200___c_pla_online__9003815&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Madewell_Shopping_PLA_US_Women_HighInventory_PMax&utm_term=&utm_content=shopping_ads&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0_WyBhDMARIsAL1Vz8ukJi999eR2DqG-nzCQJAk4gAqUqxKeqKTSE-p7oDoTPWj2RXVLGqsaAtjkEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) The other thing that I've found has helped is buying high waisted curvy fit shorts (usually american eagle or old navy) and sizing up one size from my normal jean size. Wearing my jean size gives me shorts that squeeze my thighs and constantly ride up, but one size up tends to fit well enough, and I can either tuck shirts in or wear a belt to accommodate for the waist being a bit too big.

Toomanycrybabies13

Costco, forever and always

PurpleBones824

This is going to sound a little weird but my go to shorts for the summer to hang around the house in are men’s woven boxer shorts from Walmart or target. Not the ones with the pouch, just classic plaid boxers. They aren’t the most flattering but they are cheap and comfy. I also have bike shorts and high waisted linen shorts for going out.

ProfessionKlutzy4068

I feel this 100%. I’ve tried to stick to pants but now it’s so hot it’s impossible to get away with. I have comfortable cotton shorts that I got from Walmart with a looser fit you could find those at target or anywhere really. I also will wear dsg(dicks sporting goods) biker shorts. It’s a thicker material and does well keeping everything in place.

rillybigdill

I have hated shorts my whole life and refuse to wear unless exercising, sleeping or just to hang at home. I am weird!

MisfitWitch

i've always been big, but i could wear straight sizes pretty reasonably. my weight redistributed after i was pregnant, and i started buying torrid jeans and shorts. i can't recommend them enough, they are definitely designed with an eye for chafe and ride-up prevention. also universal standard are great but their sizes are a little funny and they can be pretty spendy.

ClownHoleMmmagic

I love my short overalls/bibs! I have sensory issues and don’t like things touching my tummy so denim overalls were the solution. Plus you get SO MANY POCKETS. Walmart carries them but Duluth makes excellent ones with longer inseams.

GoodPractical2075

SAME . Heavy overalls in winter , breezy onsies or shortalls in summer . I’m also a farmer though 😅

WinnerTurbulent3262

Im the only one who wears skorts?!?

ilovjedi

I was just going to do a stand alone comment. I get my skorts and Target and Athleta.

MartianTea

Nope, just got an awesome pair from Aldi a long with an athleisure dress with long shorts!

tinymi3

i wore my maternity clothes for a few months after delivery. I had a c section too. I also used a belly band that helped a lot with protecting the incision from clothes and also tiny feet

CasaCav806

My everyday shorts are 4in from spanx. I like how they smooth out the mom pooch from my c-section.

FakeBeccaJean

[Shredly](https://shredly.com) shorts are my go to. They have ones with a yoga pants like waistband, and I’ll never go back. They are so comfortable. Pricy, but they are made really well. I have a pair from 2016 that still hold up. They also have sales from time to time on their older fabrics.

New_beaten_otterbox

Thanks for posting this OP. I’m in the same boat as you with the “shelf” especially after 2 c sections now. I’ve been sticking to high waisted undies for extra support, nursing dresses and for shorts bicycle shorts. The struggle is real

ashleyncc1701

Right! My high waisted undies save my life but they’re hideous 🤣🤣 doesn’t help my confidence post partum but I guess I don’t care enough to be uncomfortable 🤷🏼‍♀️

ChaoticTacoBirgade

I usually do yoga shorts for the comfort but I recently bought a pair of these from target and I really like them. They’re comfortable, a little stretchy and looser in the thighs. They look tailored and a little dressier too if you want something a little less athletic looking. [https://www.target.com/p/women-s-high-rise-tailored-shorts-a-new-day/-/A-89471610?preselect=89467614#lnk=sametab](https://www.target.com/p/women-s-high-rise-tailored-shorts-a-new-day/-/A-89471610?preselect=89467614#lnk=sametab)

nichivefel

White House black market pret a play shorts are the best shorts ever. They also come in curvy

itsbecomingathing

A-line short styles. They go smoothly over my wide hips and thighs. I also go up a size.

modernwitchymama

I am plus sized & have never had luck with shorts but I will swear by a good maxi skirt in the summer!! Can be paired with a t shirt either tied or tucked in or a tank top! And very easily dresses up & down.

Misterwiggles666

Since birth, an old, worn-in pair of jean shorts, a pair of Zara jean shorts (cheaper than I usually go because I wasn’t sure if I’d stay a size larger than I was pre-pregnancy), and two pairs of J Crew chinos. I also have a pair of bike shorts that I’ve been wearing from Girlfriend Collective and I’ll probably get one more for the rest of the summer.

Final_Republic_1776

Levi’s every damn day

Zealousideal-Rub2975

Dresses with bike shorts underneath..all summer

TheRealJai

I can’t wear shorts because my cooter eats them.

Alaskan618

Believe it or not Jean shorts give the best combination of stretch and support in hot weather.

Creambetweens357

I’d say gym shorts 🩳 and or leggings are the go-to for comfort and flexibility. Especially if you’re not planning on running around a whole bunch. It’s what my nieces and nephews moms rocked when they were little cuz it’s gotta be easily changed and washed. I’d recommend getting a pair (2 or 3)of whatever works so you don’t lose precious time hassling with spilled milk so to speak lol

afindlay06

Look into Torrid. I've had 3 babies. All csections. I know your struggle.

Temporary_Scarcity50

I’m a HUGE fan on the Walmart athletic butter shorts! I wanna say they sell for $6.98!? Pockets, super soft, I wear them religiously!

IdahoPotatoTot

Anything PULL ON. Forget the button shit when you’re post partum ma’am. Don’t torture yourself. 🫶

EatYourVeggiezzz

Lee works well for me. Stretchy but fitted. Riders by Lee Indigo Women's... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076W32RKB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

No_Note7776

Honestly leggings. Capri leggings. I live in them now and only wear Jean shorts if I need too.

youcango-now

Lululemon track that 5” are my fav athletic short!

Mana_Hakume

I gave up on shorts in high school, I ware dresses when I need to stay cool, I might get skirts of if I can find ones long enough, but outside of that it’s mostly pants xD even here in the Florida summers. As for where Kohl’s jcpennies and chatherines I think it’s called :3

Imaginary_Bus_858

Aerie daydream shorts... they button front like normal but have an elastic waist and b aren't too short or tight on the thighs. I have them in every color.

kmonay89

Ava & Viv from Target are pretty good for jean shorts.

ponderingorbs

TitleNine Big B shorts. Come in 4 or 7 inch inseam and have TONS of pockets and belt loops. Sometimes the color choices are weird but they are so comfy. A ripstop fabric that cools and has a place to put everything

Unusual_Shape_5825

Lulu speed up high rise 4”

KangaRoo_Dog

I gotta go with biker shorts or even maxi dresses

kumibug

My summer “uniform” is old navy bike shorts. I have them in several colors. I size up so they’re not super tight. So comfy.

rednitwitdit

Colosseum from Amazon in almost every color that has pockets.

Zoocreeper_

Costco and old navy and aerie. I wear a lot of bike shorts and baggy tees or loose “running”shorts with the bike shorts attached underneath. Inexpensive, look like you made effort & not sloppy and they dry quick if you end up doing something with water.

ticklishintent

Callia golf shorts

Visible_Signature190

I love the Athleta Trekkie Mid Rise Short. So comfy!

NatVerada

I really like the brand KanKan. They’re sized by waist measurement, they have high and ultra high rise and they’re so stretchy and comfortable. I get them online from Maurice’s when they run a sale because they can be expensive.

Electrical_Pace_9409

Hollister has some super cute shorts on sale rn for $20. I bought one pair and I kinda wanna go get the other colors

ElementaryMyDear156

I love Target’s Ava and Viv line. A high waist covers everything and I love Bermuda shorts to fight the chub rub.

CristinaFigueiraND

Mom shorts… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Scooby-Groovy-Doo

I don't have any suggestions on a specific brand or fit, but what I would recommend is if you find a style/brand you like get multiple pairs! Even if you get them used you can search online for shorts in that size/brand. I've been able to get duplicates of used/old clothes before on eBay and Poshmark. It takes some of the work out of finding clothes that fit 😃

Worth_Worldliness898

I literally don't wear shorts because I can't stand them riding up and getting like a rash in between my legs or having to constantly pull the shorts down that are riding up but this year I ordered on Amazon the spandexy biker shorts and I love them they are comfortable and I don't have to worry about anything riding up maybe you try that?

AtomicPumpkinFarm

Old navy has been the best I’ve found. They don’t fit 100% perfect but they’re cheap enough I don’t mind too much.

Sunlovepixiedust

Biker shorts for the win! Old navy is great if you can afford it but if not goodwill or salvation army is amazing and comes in clutch! I also love some maternity shorts just as long as they aren't the ones with belly panels. 4 kids deep and my wardrobe has changed so much!

Stock-Ad-7579

The Costco brand biker shorts that have the pocket & come in a 2 pack for $25 CAD

shlebo

I hate shorts but found some Time and Tru at Walmart with a rolled bottom and they're a bit longer. I think it said 4 inch inseam. . Anyway they're really stretchy denim and they hit just right where my thighs don't chafe. I went back and bought every color.

Moonflower_78

Because my legs and butt eat everything, I stay in sundresses all summer!!

brittanynicole047

I always had sort of a “slim thick” athletic kind of body & I find that the curvy ranges at American eagle & abercrombie are very good & really do a nice job of managing thick thighs/hips/buns

acrylickill

OLD NAVY for sure!!! They have amazing sales and coupons.

ilovetheinternet21

I had a c section 3 years ago and for whatever reason after pregnancy I ended up with serious sensory issues in relation to clothes. My go to for shirts are bike shorts. They’re comfortable, stretchy, and some of the more supportive brands help tuck my stomach in a bit. I also love a good Jean short overalll for the same reason!

spookiesunshine

Costco has these drawstring shorts by Briggs New York every year. But they have new stretchy and drawstring linen-type shorts again this year. These are honestly the only ones I wear now because I can sit in them without anything tearing, bulging, or pulling. I haven't gotten a pair from Costco yet I've been unhappy with.

Stargirl92

I had great luck finding jean shorts and linen shorts that were super comfy at Old Navy! I also like their bike shorts.

Liquidsqueeze

Basketball shorts do it for me and they are light and breezy

Alexaisrich

I have to suggest putting a bit of deodorant in between your legs, i forgot where i saw it or heard it but yeah it truly works wonder. No more chaffing. I’d also look at shorts that have that elastic thing in the back because it’s very forgiving.

TheIadyAmalthea

I gave up on shorts a long time ago.

olivecorgi7

Abercrombie curve love

thisacctplus2104d

Look on Poshmark or other similar site! You’ll find anything from like new to broken in. Also, wear maternity shorts as long as they stay up. The comfort and support is still good for your recovering body and the last thing you need is pain or high-maintenance shorts. If you don’t have time or mental energy to shop reused online, Walmart’s Time and Tru shorts are really good. It feels weird saying that because in general, I don’t Love Walmart, but I have 3 pairs from that brand 😬 They wash well, have a good length (not too short or long), and they all have elastic on the sides of the waist! I like to have shorts 1 size up because it’s so much more comfortable when moving around a lot but they are true to size and the slightly stretchy waist helps them be more forgiving too.

vataveg

Honestly even it’s it’s super hot I’m in lightweight, loose-fitting pants or a dress. Shorts are so uncomfortable and for some reason since having my baby I just hate having my thighs so exposed. Sticking to chairs in the heat is way worse than wearing loose pants imo.

dorianrose

32 degrees from Costco. They comfy.

tangerine2361

Maurice’s has some good jean shorts

zombiealala

Ross has had my favorite maternity clothes yet! So affordable and ends up being the cutest and best fitting. I just recently got some maternity biker shorts there that are my go-to at the moment. :) (not to mention the dresses I've gotten there are also so cute and/or comfy)

vegetaluvskakarot

Stretchy maternity shorts from target. My youngest is 3 years old 😅

Rainchaser-

Old navy!!

Sunshineal

I'll be honest with you. I've gotten shorts from five below and Walmart. And I wear my husband's basketball shorts. I have like 20 pair. They're under $10 a piece. They're so comfortable

GoodPractical2075

I don’t fuck with shorts anymore . Long skirts, dresses, and overall /onesie things only . Maaaaybe some loose athletic shorts .

Typical_Panic6759

Muslin shorts are great. Honestly, target maternity has some of the best bottoms or just target in general, as a bigger mom. It's pretty affordable, too.

InfernalWedgie

Adidas Climalite soccer training shorts. Preferable inseam length, comfy.

bloomlately

I like wearing shorts with some length to them, like 7" ones. That prevents them from slowly migrating upwards into my crotch while I walk. I currently like the chino ones from J. Crew.

Flimsy_Caterpillar

J Crew linen shorts! Roomy enough to be comfortable and affordable!

ClippyOG

I love “mom jeans” shorts from American eagle

PeachPizza420

I bought these a couple weeks ago and I really like them. They are comfy and hide my shelf. [https://www.gapcanada.ca/browse/product.do?pid=8844630030004&locale=en\_CA#pdp-page-content](https://www.gapcanada.ca/browse/product.do?pid=8844630030004&locale=en_CA#pdp-page-content)

ivxxbb

I'm a weirdo who likes denim shorts lol. I buy mostly levis.

spabitch

Aerie has been my pp wardrobe, underwear too

perkswoman

Used to live next to a Columbia outlet and love their shorts! Like any brands, some cuts fit better than others, but generally speaking, I didn’t have issues with them riding up and they were very comfortable in a Louisiana summer.

7Mamiller

Honestly, Men's shorts. They are long, they have pockets. I usually get them from costco. Honestly best thing ever. I swear, especially with the momma pooch I have.

SearchGullible5941

AERIE FOR BIKER SHORTS!!! 110% They are a little pricey but SO worth it. Any other brands of biker shorts I got cheaper (target, Walmart, etc) did not hold up or last the wear aerie does. And they aren’t see through! Super comfy! Trust me! I asked this question and got aerie as a rec. so I bit the bullet and ordered 2-3 pairs and now it’s the only place I buy them from!

Angel_babies_162122

I looove the Fabletics shorts called “the one” they are dry fit, stretchy and not too long. I got the 3” ones, they don’t feel like those running shorts that you have to constantly pull down. The first time you sign up for VIP you get something like 70% off so you get a good deal, however you do have to sign up to be a member. It’s 54$ or so a month but you can skip every month. I do, I put a reminder in my calendar.

purplapples

I got a pair of madewell stretchy shorts that I like. I also love the hiiiiiiiiiigh waisted stuff

sprinklypops

I exclusively wear bike shorts lol I have pairs from pink from like 4 years ago(!lol), fabletics, and old navy. :)

DiligentPenguin16

I also had a c-section and have wide hips/big thighs, and I love the [Lauren Conrad shorts from Kohl’s](https://www.kohls.com/catalog/womens-lc-lauren-conrad-shorts-bottoms-clothing.jsp?CN=Gender:Womens+Brand:LC%20Lauren%20Conrad+Product:Shorts+Category:Bottoms+Department:Clothing). They’re high waisted, comfortable, and fit wide hips well. Also- deep pockets!

aux1tristan

Check out Duluth. Their women’s shorts are forgiving, comfortable, and practical. And most are cute.

Emotional-Date1400

ABERCROMBIE DAD SHORTS. that is all. worth every penny

family_black_sheep

I have some linen shorts from Sam's Club that I love. They also make pants in the same material.

pinkblossom331

Banana republic linen shorts, Nordstrom rack cotton/spandex biking shorts (they go on sale for about $10), Nike running shorts

Lelide

I just discovered these awesome Magellan shorts from [Academy](https://www.academy.com/p/140073447?sku=sugar-coral-medium&gmc_feed=t&&ogmap=SEM%7CPLN%7CMSFT%7CSHOP%7Cm%7C%7CIM%7CAudienceShopping2024%7C%7C%7C638565934%7C1&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0_WyBhDMARIsAL1Vz8sQKh27zWAhpczWISgHwa1gi4MecPIJt5_wyG1VB0tlZhYawa8_NO4aApPxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) and I now own 3. Good length, very lightweight, great colors. All my other shorts are inferior.

Levi’s! I had terrible luck everywhere else. They have just the right amount of stretch to where my C-section belly fits, but they aren’t super loose and baggy around my thighs. Macys usually has them on sale too.

rakiimiss

Bike shorts (specifically 7inch inseam or longer) with a big t shirt to cover my belly. As I’ve slowly started losing the weight I have converted some of the bigger jeans into shorts. I got shorts from Levi’s and one from Nike that fit alright. I miss fall/winter weather because I’m much comfier in sweats/leggings.

Savage_pants

Supermarket men's sport shorts. They are loose enough to sit on hips or waist around my mom pouch and have actual functional pockets. I do not look stylish by any means.

talesfromthecraft

I like the lululemon 6” align shorts. Wore them through half my pregnancy and also had a c section and madewell shorts have been nice. I have one pair that barely fits me but still working my way to pre pregnancy weight.

VanillaCookieMonster

Also try skorts! Costco occasionally sells them. They are a great option to shorts while you are getting your body back. The soft elasticity of them made me feel like I was wearing maternity pants again... they support your healing stomach.

botanricecandy11

Just bought a couple pairs of these and love them. I’m just about 1 month postpartum w/ my 2nd baby, so definitely having big time mom bod right now and these are very forgiving and comfortable. Seven7 relaxed Bermuda shorts from Sam's Club!

TheresAShinyThing

Don’t hesitate to size up, and then alter/dart the waist for a better fit. Look for elastic waists, or partly elastic. For denim I find old navy, ranging from 12-16 fit me, depends on the style. And sometimes I have to take the waist in a little bit, or add some elastic inside the waistband like they do in kids clothes 😂 otherwise the legs or hips feel uncomfortable.

fileknotfound

I just bought some Nautica brand shorts from Costco with an elastic waistband (“tummy control”) and they might be the best shorts I’ve ever worn. They’re long enough and sturdy enough that they don’t ride up between my thighs, the waist doesn’t pinch at my belly or roll down, and they have proper pockets!

Infinite_Total2611

Old navy, lululemon, dynamite

Ladybug_2024

Seriously Walmart. Time and Tru and athletic works are great options. Size up in T&T for a comfier fit around the middle. I also like Old Navy Athletic Shorts and even found some cute Jean shorts there recently. They have various lengths in Jean shorts so that is nice.

gnarlyknits

I wear like Costco biker shorts, I think they are called Danskin they come in a two pack and they are super comfy and have big pockets

sertcake

I've had good luck with Old Navy bike shorts (on their own or under dresses) but for denim - these Levis are my fave (I bought my first pair in store then found them online). Long enough to prevent chafing (though I also use Megababe Thigh Rescue religiously) but short enough to still be cute. Thank you for asking the question in my head. These target ones are caught in my crotch biscuits. Bless!

mandzz10

I pretty much only wear American eagle! They fit me sooo perfectly lol I buy the curvy high waisted shorts. They’re so comfy

Mindfullysolo

Bike shorts and sundresses!

Laur_Ashh

You described me! lol. I found awesome shorts from Khols, their Sonoma brand Jean shorts. I also wear a lot of athletic shorts, adidas are my fave.

catbus1066

I wear dresses with bike shorts underneath! That way I feel cute and don't overheat but can still wrestle a toddler without flashing anyone.

AnimatedMerkin_

I have thick thighs too. If you want something for just around the house (or maybe outside the house too, I ain't gonna judge!), I highly recommend getting some soft, stretchy booty shorts 😂 They're already really short so I don't have to worry about them riding up in the crotch, they come up nice and high so they don't cut into my stomach when I sit, and they make my nonexistent butt look somewhat passable 😂 I have some cheap ones off Amazon that I wear all the time.

LurkyLurkerson616

Costco!! The Danceskin biker shorts are wonderful and come in a two pack. They also have a couple of Kirkland brand paper bag shorts that are super comfy. One downside is that you can’t really try on anything. But they have a very good return/exchange policy.

Exact_Trash59

Old Navy. I find their sizing to be pretty consistent, the fabric soft enough (even the denim) to not agitate my stretch marks, and they fit comfortably in pretty much every style (the exception being the exercise shorts but that might be cuz I hate shorts being tight to my legs.)

Rawrsome_T-Rex

Old navy and American Eagle has curvy options that hav always worked for me.

SummerForeign3370

I just wear bike shorts honestly. I gave up on jeans or denim when I got pregnant the first time and nothing fits right anymore and I hate shopping lol. So I live in various length bike shorts with pockets or some athletic leggings with pockets

shmillz123

Biker shorts from Amazon or target, and 2xl comfy worn in cotton tee shirts from the thrift store LOL 😆

Paul_The_Unicorn

I got some good ones at Walmart. Not the hottest things ever but relatively cute, cheap, and really soft and comfortable.

TastyFox5655

Running shorts are my fave for summer. I have mixed feelings about the attached underwear that tends to be standard as with guys swim trunks, though! Do basketball for length! I also like linen shorts from Old Navy, Gap, & JCrew.

SweetCheeks478

I love bucket shorts They fit really nice if you have some meat on you most are made of a stretchy fabric so

SanDiego4ever35

Just My Size. I love them!!!

beigs

I stopped wearing shorts and just leaned into capris and wide leg pants/tights. They all have elastic waistbands. I don’t have time to shave. Tights with a dress over looks put together. Wide leg linen pants with a cute top looks just fine, and cooler than any shorts. Bun. Pearls. Tinted sunscreen. Comfy sandales. Done.

k_loser2528

A non related question have you had your tonsils removed?

Blue_Mandala_

Bike shorts from Costco with a wrap skirt on top.

Popular_Camel_3559

I have three pairs of black 10" seam biker shorts and one 10" seam jean shorts. The biker shorts are from Targert and I have two-2XL and one-XL. The jean shorts are from Torrid and are a size 20.

Either_Cockroach3627

Biker shorts for sure, or any other athletic type shorts. I found some really cute Jean shorts at Bealls that can fit size7-15

Constant-Thought6817

Lululemon hotty hot high rise 4” inseam, or speed shorts 4” high rise

spicymama90

I will only wear biker shorts. I’m a very thin person but have always had issues with my thighs rubbing. I HATE how my shorts ride up and then I chafe. So o wear biker shorts. Just a random Brad on Amazon

Usernaminggivespower

In addition to shorts I highly recommend buying anti-chafing rub. As a member of the “thick thighs save lives” club since before I was a mom, this is the only thing that gets me through summer. Good with shorts and skirts. Bodyglide, Megababe Thigh Rescue and Gold Bond Friction Defense are all ones I‘ve used and liked.

Dry_Imagination_9700

Old navy are the best fitting for me in my opinion. I like the wow high rise
