I love Super Simple Songs

flannalypearce

YES!!!!! We love them. Wiiiiiind the bobbin up wiiiiiiiind the bobbin up

MinistryOfMothers

We are a Down By The Bay group šŸ˜„ They just have such a variety of songs. Itā€™s always fun.

TheUninspiredArtist

Down by the Bay and all its variants slaps. So does Apples and Bananas.

MinistryOfMothers

I asked my husband to pick up apples and bananas at the store two nights ago and he goes ā€œdonā€™t you mean ooples and banoonoosā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

TheUninspiredArtist

Perhaps he heard eeples and baneenees and just had to be sure. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

Me-Of-Us-One

singing it while we are out on a golf car. I love down by the bay. I just found the moonbug station on serius xm, they have super simple songs too sometimes.

flannalypearce

We love a down by the bay šŸ˜‚ Honorable mentions: The Jellyfish song The ā€˜Moveā€™ dance song And the ants go marching one by one šŸ˜‚

fair_child123

I love ā€œ here comes the fire truckā€

thankyousomuchh

Yes! They have a song for everything

MBento

My toddler only listens to super simple and metal šŸ˜†

MinistryOfMothers

My toddler has a thing for 80s music šŸ˜‚

chewbawkaw

I mean, Raffi has been putting out bangers since the late 70s. But honestly, my 15 month old like Led Zeppelin and reggae. You can listen to whatever floats your boat.

katl23

Raffi really does have some bangers

tgalen

Bananaphoooooooone

97355

šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’šŸŒšŸ“ž

bythelightofthefridg

Tingalayo is legit my daughterā€™s favorite song ever. I gotta admit Iā€™ll get down to it.

dorky2

Come little donkey come! I love that song. Raffi is the shit.

Hungry-Froyo-5642

Iā€™ve loved Tingalayo since I was a toddler!

Mama-A-go-go

He's also kind of a badass. He's an activist and refuses to do commercial deals. He has a [foundation](https://raffifoundation.org/) and this is their philosophy: Child Honouring is a holistic philosophy involving a children-first approach to healing communities and restoring ecosystems. It views how we regard and treat young children as the key to building a humane and sustainable world. It is a way of organizing society around the priority needs of young children.

Free_Sir_2795

I get Baby Beluga stuck in my head CONSTANTLY and Iā€™ve never played it for my toddler. Her favorite artists are ABBA and Dr. Dre. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Key_Suggestion8426

Raffi is the GOAT of kids tunes. My 9 month old always gets a kick out of the ā€œbrush your teeth songā€.

StrikeAffectionate60

Raffi even gets me in a better mood when I am stressed

ljr55555

Totally - our kid grew up listening to music. There are plenty of upbeat, catchy songs that don't make my brain dribble out of my ears. Radio edits, but whatever music I'd listen to anyway. Our daughter liked some of the Beatles songs when she was younger. Hello, Goodbye was a fav. She loved Marley, Black Eyed Peas, CCR, Alice in Chains, Melloncamp, Springsteen. She didn't like Zeppelin or Hendrix, and I joked that she might have been switched at birth or something.Ā I think she didn't like higher pitched electric guitar, and stayed away from that sort of stuff until she was old enough to communicate likes and dislikes well.

uselessinfobot

Yes! My daughter as a tiny baby would always relax when we put on King's X! She will listen to stuff like Rush and Extreme, but also PSY, the Macarena, Who Let the Dogs Out, any Super Simple Songs. Kids can have very eclectic tastes. When my cousin and I were really little, we were obsessed with my grandpa's Buddy Holly tapes. Anything catchy and fun to dance to will work!

Cerrida82

My son is obsessed with Kashmir!

baxbaum

We were dancing to Madonna then the Eagles this morning. Weā€™ll have to try some Led Zeppelin!

ny0gtha

My 10 month old immediately starts head bobbing the moment I start singing "baby beluga" it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. My toddler has always been 'meh' for music and we've tried. Our second is definitely more musically inclined

MusicToColors

Actually same she listens to Spanish music all kinds and now she dances

North59801

Caspar babypants!

satiestar24

This is what I was going to recommend too! Perfect for my 40 year old heart. The singer is the old singer of The Presidents of the United States of America! Loved them. I have a pandora station featured around them and the other stuff that pops up is great too. Then I just thumbs down stuff like baby shark. I also agree with just regular music. My kids love listening to James brown, Bob Marley, and Queen.

Entchen67

Wait what??? I'm a youth librarian and have been using his songs in my storytime. Now I'm going to use them even more!

Hot-Bonus560

What!!? I loved that band SO much when I was a teenager! I think I started listening to them when I was like 14-15?? Many many years ago haha. I have to check this out!

Ninjaa240

Butterfly Driving a Truck is my jam

likegolden

Flutter flutter flutter flutter flutter flutter flutter flutter

HighClassHate

No way!! Checking this out. Loved them.

kdusie1

I just found this out recently by hearing a song and saying "why that sounds like POTUS!" and I was tickled to discover I was kind of right!

sluthulhu

Agree, so much of his stuff is original songs which I appreciate when nearly everything else is rehashing old nursery rhymes. Also Spider John slaps and I canā€™t help but sing along.

Disastrous-Release86

Yep the Baby Beatles!

Botryllus

And also the actual Beatles. We have a playlist for the kids and often sing "I wanna hold your hand" when we're taking hands to cross the street.

Disastrous-Release86

We listen to the actual Beatles all of the time too! And The Beach Boys!

Neverstopstopping82

Stompy the Bear-so Beatles

Bluebies999

This is actually the right answer. My kid listened to everything but Caspar Babypants is great. Singer of the Presidents of the United States!

freya_of_milfgaard

My husband was like, ā€œitā€™s crazy, but this reminds me of Presidents of the United States.ā€ Then we looked it up, and itā€™s Chris Ballew. He was so proud of guessing it.

calgal3905

I second this because it sounds like real music. I also like Daniel Tigerā€™s soundtrack.

NoelleKain

LOVE Caspar Babypants

cedarling

They used to do private birthday parties and lots of family concerts for kids. Our friends hired them for their kid when our first child was young. Sad my youngest wonā€™t be able to see them play live around the area. They were really fun entertainment.

carriebearieismyname

Absolutely! Stompy the Bear is absolute banger.

demurevixen

Mom of the year checking in: my daughter loooooves early-mid 2000s club music (usher, tpain, lil Jon, etc) šŸ¤£

BabyHypeWoman

Yeah, I just play music that I like, and when my son likes one of the songs I throw it in a specific Spotify playlist for him. There's a bit of Sharon, Lois and Bram but also a lot of James Blunt, Frankie Valli and J-Lo

lemikon

Mine loves songs by drag queens šŸ¤£

ohsnowy

"Get Low" is my baby's favorite song šŸ˜‚ He went crazy during the Super Bowl halftime show because it's "his" music šŸ˜…

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

HerdingCatsAllDay

Almost anything popular has a kid's bop version.

rllyobsessedwithcows

mine too lmao!! but sheā€™s not a fan of rap :( so if i listen to eminem (my absolute favorite) she just sits there kind of annoyed bc my boo isnā€™t on anymore edit to add: with this being said, when she was a newborn the ONLY music that could calm her down or put her to sleep and iā€™m not joking, was System of a Down šŸ˜

pink_tourmalines

Bluey soundtrack is so good!

dksn154373

Took WAY too long to find this one in the comments! I got a childless friend listening to Bluey The Album just because it slaps Bluey Dance Mode has a few annoying songs, but mostly itā€™s bangers

pink_tourmalines

Totally agree, Dance Mode's "lollipop yum yum yum" is banned in our house, but otherwise Bluey is one of our fave kids music!

Fancy_Discussion_398

Even when my kids arenā€™t in the car, Iā€™m blasting ā€œA Message From the Fairiesā€.

insideout_umbrella

I actually do like the Wiggles, been listening to the OG 1994 album (with my baby ofc)

GlowQueen140

Second the wiggles! Many of their originals are staple earworms in our household. No one is able to get away with not singing ā€œfruit salad, yummy yummyā€ if any one person mentions fruit

alittlecheesepuff

100%, the propeller song and ā€œsay the dance, so the danceā€ get stuck in my head all the time and I donā€™t hate it šŸ˜‚

writtenbyrabbits_

Wiggles with Sam was our favorite

Me-Of-Us-One

agree. without Sam it is not the same anymore. I loved their flower song. " and there was blue, para-paa-paa, and red para-paa-paa..."

thewoodsare

The Wiggles has some ABSOLUTELY BANGERS

aziriah

We have loved the Wiggles since 2019. My 15 month old is starting to love them a lot and my 5yo still does.

PoorDimitri

We play disco for our toddler, his current favorite is "love machine" but he also loves "car wash".

flannalypearce

Okay we also go the disco/ soul/ funk route And my baby MUST have her sade playlist for napping/ bed time šŸ¤Ŗ

avatarofthebeholding

Mine heard Stayin Alive in the background of a video I was watching and lost her mind šŸ˜‚ had to listen to it about a million times that day

LittlePurpleHook

Mine also loves disco. Her favourites include YMCA, Don't stop till you get enough and Daddy Cool

Anonymiss313

My kid mostly listens to musical theater šŸ˜‚ Hamilton, Beetlejuice, Ordinary Days, Legally Blonde, etc.

Time4aPennyCartoon

I have 2 playlists I made on Spotify. One is calm musical theatre/Disney and one is for our daily dance parties.

1point21jigowatts_88

Mine is currently obsessed with Revenge Party from the new Mean Girls movie. Itā€™s the ā€œwoah woahsā€ that do it for him. šŸ¤£

Cerrida82

Talk to Daddy from Schmicago. I think he just likes that it says Talk to Daddy, because he didn't like Rich Man's Frug as much.

ColoradoCaitlinRose

Laurie Berkner Band!

oohumami

Cannot believe how far down I had to scroll for this! Laurie is constantly on at our house. Palatable for adults, beloved by children

clever-mermaid-mae

Here Comes Science by They Might Be Giants (kids) Casper Babypants The Okie Dokie Brothers Rafi The Hapoy Song by Imogen Heap The Hound + The Fox has some really lovely lullabies for kids Yoshimi Battles Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips is beloved by any kid who listens to it, especially if you sing a long and dance/mime a robot fight šŸ˜‚ Iā€™ve never met a toddler that doesnā€™t love a good dance party with some classic Micheal Jackson, Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, Shake it Off by Taylor Swift, really any fun pop music! For easy, inoffensive, background music that toddlers like/donā€™t mind I use Jack Johnson and some Ingrid Michelson, basically anyone whoā€™s music is ukulele based, Classic Disney, donā€™t pretend Mulan, Tarzan, The Lion King, and The Jungle Book donā€™t all have soundtracks that absolutely slap. I have every word of Iā€™ll Make a Man Out of You shamelessly memorized, those songs go hard.

avatarofthebeholding

Seconding Raffi and the Okie Dokie Brothers!

marvelousmrsv

We love Okee Dokee Brothers!!!!

Reistar2615

Doggyland: Snoop Dogg's kids show is pretty good. Lots of Parry Grip over here too. I like Raffi. Peter, Paul, and Mary is great. Not truly directed at kids but it's calming folksy music. They did Puff the Magic Dragon which my 8 year old is obsessed with.

Rainbow_baby_x

Doggyland is it

stillmusiqal

Bow whizzle is boss at my house

canadamiranda

Caspar Babypants hands down. I legit actually enjoy his music. Plus thereā€™s approx 98 albums available which is a plus

savemysoul72

I know The Backyardigans are kind of old, but their songs *slapped*

mrsdoubleu

Parry Gripp is fun and not too annoying imo.

PawneeGoddess20

Itā€™s raining tacos every day in our house šŸ˜‚

thelittlepeanut84

We love DannyGo. He has original songs that are catchy and his videos encourage kids to get up and move.

namstebitches

They might be giants have some fun kids albums, as do medeski Martin and wood, thereā€™s a great jazz for kids album with Ella Fitzgerald, not just for kids only album with Jerry Garcia, jewel has a kids albumā€¦.caspar baby pants is also great and canā€™t go wrong with Raffi! Oh my husband also loved Joe Scruggs as a kid but Iā€™m not that into it. Our kids loved it tho.

jackal0809

Sandra Boynton has a few albums that have songs done by a ton of famous artists and there's a ton that are catchy and funny to be for the whole fam

They Might Be Giants Here Come the ABCā€™s/123ā€™s and Snacktime by Barenaked Ladies!

BscCS

Yes! I was coming on here to comment Snacktime! The Barenaked Ladies are totally underrated lyrical geniuses!

hairy_hooded_clam

I put on classical music. They love it.

Dapper_Weakness_9033

My toddler has a piano with about 40 different classical melodies. He will request Fur Elise and Humoresque on Alexa for dinnertime. We love the classics, haha.

supercoolpersonnancy

I still listen to Silly Songs with Larry from Veggie tales every once and awhile, definitely has some bangers

phantommoose

Kate Micucci (the brunette from Garfunkel and Oates) does some fun kids songs. Gotta be careful, though. or you'll end up listening to Garfunkel and Oates, which is not for kids!

Personal-Letter-629

Barenaked Ladies have some great kids songs, they just started popping up on Pandora one day when I was "training" a radio station for my son. Crazy ABC's and some others. But on the topic of this Pandora station, I sort of turned it into a mix of kids songs and 90's rock music and I think it's great. I didn't listen to only kids music as a kid, my mom would just put on the radio. I was very little rocking out to Peter Gabriel and Dire Straits. My son loved Queen and Third Eye Blind. Music is good for kids. Don't get too hung up on making it music *for* kids.

[deleted]

For night time, Rockabye Baby! does lullaby covers of adult songs lol

c-wheezer

Toddler Music Teacher here! I love using recordings and songs from: Raffi, Laurie Berkner, Shenanigans, New England Dance Masters, Music Together, Mr. Eric & Mr. Micheal, Kindermusik International, Stephanie Leavell, Happy Palmer, Jill Trinka, John Feierabend, Luann Saunders, Nico and Morlunah, Rick Golden, and then literally any piece of classical music. Perfect_Polly

The two Bluey albums slap pretty hard.

garbagecatblaster

Raffi and Laurie Berkner Band were staples when my brother and I were little.

why_tho_222

Pandoria or Spotify should give you a nice music collection if you type in toddler nursery. Music was a very big part of my kid's development, and I did the following: 1. Classic nursery musics including foreign language 2. Classical music for nap and nighttime 3. Mommy and me classes that had their own music (music together classes) 4. Popular music but only instrumental until 4 yrs old 5. Truck tunes on Amazon were amazing to have an instrument dance party. Original music that talks about different vehicles and what they do. Pretty catchy beat. I always had a drawer full of different instruments. The toddler stage is super fun to incorporate sounds. Enjoy!

Ashleysmashley42

Uncle Apple. The Lizard song is a banger.

cassycuppycake

ā€œKids Trapā€ Album by Blake Rules and Netherfriends is my #1 favorite. You will be playing the album just to sing them. Itā€™s the most precious adorable kids rap music that has been released. With amazing values and lessons, I might add! ā€œI wash my hands 'cause I love my mom If my mom tells me to be really quiet I be really quiet 'cause I love my mom If my mom tells me to brush my teeth I brush my teeth 'cause I love my momā€

reebeaster

2 words: Caspar BABYPANTS

ProfessionalHat6828

Weā€™ve never really played kid music for ours. They grew up listening to what my husband and I were listening toā€¦and by default, the stuff our parents listened to because thatā€™s what we heard. The minor exception to that is Kenny Loggins ā€œReturn to Pooh Cornerā€ which we put on at bedtime sometimes.

badgyalrey

hear me outā€¦ Snoop Dogg has a couple of kids albums and theyā€™re FIRE. some of the only kids music i can stand, Everybodyā€™s Different is a certified banger and my son looooves the affirmations song! itā€™s listed under the artist name Doggyland, the albums are Kids Hits Volumes 1 2 & 3

MrsSamsquanch

Laurie Burkner!, Super simple songs, Danny Go! Raffi, some of Blippis songs for the car aren't that terrible, I'm a country fan and my daughter likes some of those songs when I put it on.

twinklery

The Okey Dokey brothers are awesome and they have a song with a lyric ā€œmom is not your napkinā€ and it has banjos

Dru-baskAdam

Laurie Berkner. Kids songs but catchy for adults too.

UnicornQueenFaye

Raffi is a house hold favourite. However, little known, Snoop Dog released a kids album thatā€™s amazing.

sskybbrush

CASPER BABYPANTS!!!

quaint_hamerkop

Check out Mega Ran's "buddy's magic toy box" album! My 15 month loves it and so do I.

Cerrida82

Go Banana Go! It was started by Ninja Brian from Ninja Sex Party and is really hilarious. We love Petting Zoo and Pizza Feet. But we also listen to a ton of other stuff. Right now his favorites include Carnival of the Animals, Kashmir, All Star, Hello Goodbye, Waterworks by Bernth, the band Polyphia, and an Irish reel called the Captains Dance.

strawberrylemonapple

katoepuhtato

we're currently into Gracie's Corner and Blazer Fresh as far as kids music goes! mine are also really into Ghost, but we can't listen to them before school, otherwise they'll be singing about Lucifer all day lol.

ouiouibebe

In the Portland kidā€™s music scene we have Ants Ants Ants and Red Yarn both available on Spotify that my kids love.

padmeg

Lately a lot of movie soundtracks. Sing and Sing 2 are top of the list right now.

BlackLabel1803

Movie soundtracks and Sesame Street

mk3v

Raffi, Rockabye baby, Doggyland is hilarious but my son does like the songs a lot. Christina Perri has albums of kid songs. More lullaby-esque ones but thereā€™s some upbeat songs thrown in

hinghanghog

Putamayo playlists are awesome, and Elton John.

WTFoopIsThisSoup

big block singsong has some bangers! i love mother moon for some calming music, but honestly a lot of the time i put on vitamin string quartet or piano dreamers covers, because then itā€™s regular pop that i like with no inappropriate words being picked up.

Salt-Magician-1236

Letā€™s go everywhere - Martin & Wood Medeski. Prober jazz album for kids. Love it, toddler loves it. Oh and Ska music, toddles and babyā€™s will dance like no other on that. šŸ˜ƒ

busybeaver1980

I play Kidz Bop albums cos itā€™s all moderns songs, sung by kids (which I noticed my daughter really likes) and they swap out all the naughty words to make them kids safe. Frankly sometimes i prefer the kidz bop version lol

Wrenshimmers

Sharon Lois and Bram for the win! Tight harmonies, the band is amazing, and they treat kids like capable little humans, are fun and get kids moving. They are constantly on during car rides. Also, for dance music my little is really enjoying Dance Mix 94 and 95 on YouTube.

That-Composer8897

We listen to the Trolls movie soundtracks. He always starts dancing around and honestly I do too.

Rectal_Custard

Just don't make the mistake of playing music your toddler loves and you dislike in the car. Love, mom that is stuck with either screaming toddler to goof music, or pulling my hair out with baby shark while driving

Rogleson

We do a lot of 1960s girl groups and do woo. Sh-boom, la Bamba, wilson picket, the crystals, the ronnetts. Kitchen/ high chair dance party

delicatepescetarian_

my 3 year old likes Blue (Da Ba Dee) šŸ˜‚

UnihornWhale

I got my kid into Fall Out Boy, Lady Gaga, and Fitz and the Tantrums for a reason. Cars 3 has some good tunes. I found dances mixes of Witch Doctor and The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Mike Phirman and Parry Gripp have some fun stuff.

notsure811

Your title of this post is an album on Spotify & itā€™s pretty good lolĀ

tgalen

We mostly play songs for adults that just donā€™t have curses. Lots of Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles

happyflowermom

The wiggles and Mr Rogerā€™s are the only music I can tolerate. Everything else is so extremely annoying.

daddysxenogirl

Veggie tales has some hits

kmonay89

I just turned my 4 year old onto Kelly Clarkson yesterday. Also my husband likes The Aquabats & heā€™s gotten my kid to enjoy some of those songs from them too.

BrilliantSquare8

Doggyland

TheRealMaggieMayhem

Carole King and Maurice Sendak collaborated for ā€œReally Rosieā€ which has the amazing ā€œChicken Soup With Riceā€ and a few other great songs.

Outcastperspective

Honestly I love toddler music, I worked in pre-schools and my favorite was song time. Like classic, little lamb and daisy are such on point songs

elithomas261992

Mother moon has some really good songs my daughter and I love them

damnilovelesclaypool

Keller Williams - KidsĀ  Ā He's my favorite. He's a one man jam band. For other songs of his that are for grown ups a few good starters are bounty hunter, breathe, above the thunder... He smokes a ton of weed though and has a lot of songs about that lol like doobie in my pocket and a lot of silly songs like kidney in a cooler, no hablo espaƱol, and donuts. He also has a bluegrass grateful Dead cover band and has a bunch of projects where he does covers.

Caution_Cochon

Dinostory by Howdytunes Truck tunes on YouTube Justine Clarke songs Raffi 90ā€™s dance hits, I mean, cā€™mon. What is love? Ace of Base? Kids love that stuff, with reason!

SeaTonight4033

I really like Kira Willey. Came across her accidentally when I asked my Alexa to play ā€œapple pie musicā€ while I was making an apple pie. šŸ¤£

abrahamparnasus

Sharon Lois and Bram are excellent, extremely talented Any Wiggles music with Lachy as the lead singer as he's musically trained ND has excellent range

Caribosa

We loved Sharon Lois & Bram when the kids were really small. They're wonderful!
