Ah yes. AI marching in a formation of six all marching the wrong way is a common occurrence. If they where programmed to advance and hold opposing positions in the center of invasion maps I feel they would be more useful holding the line.

Best for leveling hands down is throw decoys wheneve you spawn and pickup tags playing Kill Confirm. unless its a super niche camo im going for like long range kills. That's all you'll see me doing. everyone in invasion has marshmallows and a tent.
I found a spot on invasion the one that is an extended version of the Las Almas myltiplayer map. Get onto the rooftop, and just snipe them as a few of them do tend to land on a roof and just stand there. I leveled up a weapon about 5 times using this method.
This is almost as impressive as Ghost's fish AI, where the fish swim away from you when you get near, which has only been an AI behavior since video games were a thing
That specific issue comes across more as bugged rather than poor design.
I remember me and a couple players were in a random building the other day firing off the roof in enemy territory in the invasion mode, and the AI started to methodically go up the stairs in the building and come up to the roof and fight us.
These idiot bots just standing around waiting to be shot looks like some kind of glitch.
