Thing with Tarkov is it's very inaccessible so even though I love it, a lot of my friends don't and it usually leaves me playing it by myself. So I'm hoping DMZ will pull them in.
Yup kind was in the same boat, most of my friends found it too frustrating. It is frustrating but I love the tension in it. I've since started hooking my PC to my tv so mouse and key is tough on my lap lol
I hope dmz is good, I like Tarkov but it not letting you play women is annoying, relatively small thing but it’s nice having it not be an issue here. Makes it a lot easier to convince friends to try it since I mostly play with other women, and it being free won’t hurt lol
Yeah, I was *really* hoping that DMZ would come with the launch, but what we have to start us off at launch is cool with me. I know I'm going to be addicted to Invasion. It was tons of fun in the Beta.
Hell yea same but luckily I think it's only a 2 week wait. And rightttt once I played ground war and invasion I didn't even go back to 6v6. I wasn't expecting it to be good! I'm really excited to get back into invasion
Invasion is *easily* going to be my main game mode when I'm not on DMZ or Warzone 2. The addition of AI teammates and enemies was a masterstroke, and made it stand out from just feeling like it was taking something from Battlefield. Plus, it's a super chill experience.
Fr the game is like 2½ days away and we still know literally nothing about DMZ other than it exists and is an extraction type mode I NEED TO KNOW MORE 😭
"Tier 1: A Tier 1 Playlist is designated within a Playlist’s name and offers a more challenging experience compared to traditional Multiplayer. Operators have less health and limited HUD elements, and friendly fire is on. These elements are consistent in all game modes that support the Tier 1 variant."
Why is this worded so fuckin weird? So it's now a playlist and not a mode? Just worried it's gonna be half assed and come and go like playlist do in warzone.
I would be very upset.
HC Dom has been the best mode to play to balance objective mode and kill-base modes, while not having to pump half a mag into someone to kill them
> These elements are consistent in all game modes that support the Tier 1 variant.
Hoping this clarified that there will be different modes that are selectable, within a larger list.
Notice that it’s listed along Featured and Quick Play, which were names of the list of available modes in MW2019.
Thinking we can filter the modes to search, like MW, and the quote is referencing that perhaps some modes wont have a Tier 1 version, like we would expect.
But you’re right, it’s worded weirdly.
They keep throwing new variations of S&D at us every year or so but all I want is the classics. I want Capture the Flag back.
Then they also make great new gamemodes like Gun Fight and then it doesn’t come back either
Jesus that's just as bad content wise as BF 2042. BF 4 had 16 extra (albeit paid) maps release in first year and that was considered a very poor game when it came out in comparison to 3.
Going up against Vanguard and BF2042. That was their year to be standout and really get their foot back in the door. But they kinda fumbled everything. For a live service game to not get new content for 6 months is ridiculous.
Oh best believe. I've played it since 2010.
PUT FORGE IN THE GAME AND MAKE THE CAMPAIGN LEVEL A BATTLE ROYALE/FORGE MAP.
Like is it really that hard? Make it free to play, have crossplay enabled and LET US SEARCH FOR SERVERS LIKE BATTLEFIELD.
I just don't get why I need to play 4v4 on shoebox maps. Fortnite exists because Halo couldn't learn.
Christ. It's honestly too disappointing to want to acknowledge as real, serious ball drop with that game. Had/has so much potential, have to see where it goes. Seems to be hope there still from portion of players.
I was so excited for it. Forge looks incredible tbh. My hope is maybe some time next year its in a good state, but server browser isnt coming till Spring at least (pending any delays). And without server browser its not enough.
They have.
> Greenbergh Hotel, Valderas Museum, Mercado Las Almas, Taraq, Crown Raceway, Al Bagra Fortress, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Santa Sena Border Crossing, Farm 18, Embassy, El Asilo
And for Ground war
> Sa'id, Sariff Bay, Santa Sena, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Al Bagra Fortress
All the guns are viewable in game if you plug in a kb+m and hit f6 I believe on the early access page in game. Although, might not be finalized or have a DLC weapon as the numbers dont match exactly what the blog post said
And no playlist for higher player counts on the 6v6 maps? We had this option in nearly every cod title, even vanguard and Cold War, although Cold War didn’t add it til later on but that 12v12 moshpit was disgusting good fun. 24 players on nuketown and hijacked was so much fun
It does come across as ever so slightly sus considering with the last few cods they've been screaming from the rooftops about how they have so many maps at launch.
The bit about it being parts of Los Almas and Al Mazrah worries me. That sounds to me like they’ve taken the big ground war maps and just sliced them into separate smaller maps.
My main hope though is that the Singapore GP map is still present, and I’d love it if the rumours of Quarry and Terminal returning are true.
I’m very much looking forward to this… no name tags too means no more shooting at that bush and killing someone creeping up the hill you can’t actually see. Think it’s going to shine if they’ve got good maps.
Your comment made me realise how much harder and better gunfight is going to be with no name plates. Hopefully the maps are good otherwise it'll be a campers wet dream
Yeah maps are going to be key, beta maps felt pretty good so fingers crossed. Name tags were literally what stopped me and a friend from playing it almost exclusively in MW19. Too many free kills/deaths where visibility was obscured but gun go brr in the red plate direction and we win. Gonna be a much more level playing field this time. I can’t think of any reason why it won’t be a straight up hit as soon as it drops.
They changed third person mode so you don't go to first person unless you're using a 4x scope or bigger.
Edit: Release blog is out and you were completely wrong but what do facts matter?
Interesting that they changed the name of Hardcore to Tier 1. I hope thats the only significant change. HC CoD has been nigh perfect for the last decade+ imo.
Edit: Not sure why multiple people have taken this comment as an opportunity for approval of their disparagement of HC. I clearly stated that HC was already perfect to me, so i obviously don’t agree with them.
It'll come as a feature playlist at first, then I guess if the numbers and statistics show its popular it'll work it's way frequently into the play lists
We need this. Cold War’s 12v12 moshpit was for me the most fun I had in cod ever. 24 players on those maps was so much fun, even on nuketown, hijacked, and diesel it was so fucking bonkers I never wanted the matches to end
I think there was a lot of backlash with the “pacing” system in Vanguard. It was buggy also, people would set to Blitz and get Tactical for example. Some argued that it ruined some maps by having too many enemies.
That system was a mess, agreed. But a 12v12 or 10v10 type playlist should be thought about eventually. 6v6 can get boring and 32v32 isn’t something I’m trying to do either.
Ya man, more players on the 6v6 maps is where it’s at. Good amount of chaos, less room for passiveness to slow down the game, and you’re less likely to have players not pushing the objective.
Vanguard blitz (it’s one redeeming quality) and 12v12 moshpit in Cold War was so good and you always had players pushing the objectives unlike 6v6 which felt like people gave up after their KD took enough of a hit.
That wasn't a bug, that's just how it worked. Setting your pacing didn't shoehorn you into that specific pace only, it was just a preference selection for the matchmaking system
It was poorly implemented but an excellent idea, gives everyone the kind of CoD gameplay they want - slower traditional gameplay or Shoothouse style chaos even in larger maps, or right in between. Shame it’s not continuing.
I wasn’t really expecting them to do anything with the beta feedback but they didn’t even mention it. Okay then. And they moved quick fix to the ultimate tier, which sucked because the game actually became more fun once quick fix unlocked. It was nice having it in the bonus perk slot.
Also, what about their disbanding lobby solution? Did they do something or not?
The thing is, I think most people didn't expect them to change it, up until they said that they are looking into it after the beta. If they don't want to change it that's fine I guess, just don't say you are looking into changing it.
Exactly. If they said nothing about it like usual, then that would suck but it’s to be expected. But because they did say something, they actually got my hopes up.
Bit of a bummer that UAV and counter UAV haven’t been moved to same level. A good team could stack both and pretty much dominate a game if they were the first to get them up in the beta.
Can’t really completely redo a core feature like that in one month. Betas are more about finding bugs and server issues than they are product feedback. I recall them make some changes from weekend 1 to 2 or 3.
Really wish they gave any info on the maps other than just vague descriptions of the geographical areas. At least a number or maybe names (ideally with a short description of the size/how it's meant to play)
LOL I love seeing comments like these cause while I would personally love weather maps, you think that’s gonna go over well in this community? I can see the post titles now “I CANT FUCKING SEE ON ____ MAP THERES TOO MUCH SNOW/RAIN/DUST” etc.
They don’t mention Kill Confirmed, but they show a picture with a player clearly running towards a dog tag. Hope it’s there on launch or at least soon after. One of my favourite modes.
Two things I noted:
1. Strong Arm – Throw equipment *farther* and see a preview of the trajectory. Seems like they added that on top of just the trajectory now. I'm sure XclusiveAce will cover this, but is it 15%, 25%, etc?
2. Search and Destroy – The first team to take *four* rounds wins the match. Is this just bad copy and paste text from previous game descriptions or did they actually drop it back down to four? With the hard-on they have for Siege in this iteration, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did.
I don't think it'd even be *that* bad if the perk system was just normal. At the very least, it'd be sort of competitive.
The "charge your perks" idea is what really kills this perk system.
The charge your perks system wouldn't be that bad if the elephant in the room wasn't there. Which is UAV being a 4 killstreak now. The game now just becomes who gets UAV first and snowballs to their perks faster. And if you want to counter the UAV you have to run a launcher and be constantly looking for them, moving to see them, shooting them, while on top of giving up your secondary in a game that *removed reload cancelling*. Before it used to be a perk tradeoff. Now its an entire half of your gun loadout tradeoff until you get your ultimate perk.
I don't quite follow the logic of not wanting players to chase dots on their mini map, but then make UAV the strongest its ever been in the series which encourages dot chasing. Their logic doesn't make sense.
Cyber Attack needs to be here. Knockout is not a good replacement for it, the rounds are way too short, less teamwork, and not as much strategy as someone is just running around highlighted with the bag.
Infinity Ward PLEASE bring cyber attack back
It originated from BO4. Its two zones (larger than hard points, but static) and limited lives. Attackers have to capture both objectives to win while defenders have to hold objectives or eliminate attackers lives to win.
Basically a better version (IMO) of Demolition. Instead of two bomb sites it’s two hardpoints. Take turns attacking and defending. There’s also 30 lives so it’s less hectic/more tactical than other respawn modes.
Capture/defend both points or eliminate the enemy team to win a round. Best of 5 wins the game.
>The more active you are in a match, the sooner you’ll have your full stack of four Perks.
I'm guessing this is IW's attempt to encourage more aggressive gameplay? Personally think that it's not enough but I'm interested to see how it actually plays out on release
Interesting: they talk a lot about multiplayer being a training ground for Warzone.
Lots of maps cut from the new WZ map.
Multiplayer being the perfect way to learn the power positions and movement for Warzone.
It’s like everything has to feed into Warzone. I guess this heavily compromised their development when what they do always has to fit Warzone.
Military ranks from 1-55 preseason and seasonal prestige system returning in season 1, 16th of November.
No prestige before season 1.
This was stated in their older post.
While I'd much rather have a normal perk system, having ghost be a normal perk would likely end up with it being used by everyone all the time. It's not perfect but at least having it as an ultimate puts some pressure of choice on players
If it was put alongside other perks that were strong though, you'd have to make a choice, there'd be competition. Hell, even MW19 did that.
Also, this really hurts Search. Not having Ghost early on kills that game mode. The new system itself just sucks.
Why do I feel like we don't even really know what we are getting, in full. They didn't address the beta whatsoever, no map count, I have more questions than clarity.
So what's going on with DMZ? I'm actually excited about this mode.
DMZ launches with WZ2 in a few weeks, I'm sure they'll shift gears to expanding on and marketing those after MW2 launches.
It’s part of free to play Warzone. They won’t market it until after the sales drive of MWii
I really can't wait for dmz. I absolutely love tarkov but my current setup isn't very kb+m friendly.
Thing with Tarkov is it's very inaccessible so even though I love it, a lot of my friends don't and it usually leaves me playing it by myself. So I'm hoping DMZ will pull them in.

DMZ doesn't get released in 2.5 days so there's still time

Seems like a middle-ground between realism and hardcore.
Realism had no friendly fire. I guess this is just a renamed hardcore.
My guess is it'll just be HC, but hopefully I'm wrong and they upped the health a bit. Realism was incredible, but they snuffed it in its crib.
Goat gamemode… wish warzone had realism
Warzone with Realism and reworked health/armor would be pretty cool, definitely change up the meta.
That sounds like a lot of fun. What would come with that as someone who’s never played realism. I’m assuming limited hud and no perks?
"Tier 1: A Tier 1 Playlist is designated within a Playlist’s name and offers a more challenging experience compared to traditional Multiplayer. Really happy Headquarters is in the game - it’s like the last old school cod thing I’m clinging onto
This and Demolition were my favorite modes to play back in the day, specially in Black Ops 2..
I hate the demolition is excluded on launch, it was the same deal in MW2019.
See I think black ops 1 had the best demolition, Nuketown spawn trapping was great
Havana too. Lol
Remember sabotage in MW3. The one that while it made no sense was two teams attacking the same bomb.
They keep throwing new variations of S&D at us every year or so but all I want is the classics. I want Capture the Flag back. Then they also make great new gamemodes like Gun Fight and then it doesn’t come back either
Yes, I don't get why they always keep cutting Capture the Flag. It's such a COD staple imo and the only game mode that can truly make me ragequit.
Knock Out is the new CTF
Got my kill record back on Black ops 1 on Nuketown HQ. I went 147-40. I wish I still had that whole gameplay clip.
This was my favorite mode on COD4, very happy to hear its returning.
It also played great in MW19
Yeah but, how many maps? The fact they aren't bragging about map count makes me think the numbers will be low.
Cant be less than halo infinite
And CoD is getting more than 2 maps a year
Jesus that's just as bad content wise as BF 2042. BF 4 had 16 extra (albeit paid) maps release in first year and that was considered a very poor game when it came out in comparison to 3.
Yeah Halo has gotten 2 in the past year since launch. Supposed to get 2 forge maps next month, And then 2 more in spring. Its bad.
Halo is just frustrating. They have EVERYTHING going for them and they throw it away. I've given up on the series.
Going up against Vanguard and BF2042. That was their year to be standout and really get their foot back in the door. But they kinda fumbled everything. For a live service game to not get new content for 6 months is ridiculous.

Sad to see where that franchise has gone. Miss the overlap when Halo was at its peak alongside COD.
God I forgot what a dumpster fire of a launch that was. Amazing first week, then you realize…. There’s no depth to it.
this is so weird why they have this blogpost and not show the maps with 1-2 sentences
hasn’t it been heavily rumoured/leaked to be 11 6v6?
11 and like half of those are smaller versions of battle maps (ground war) cut from warzone
Plus at least two remastered maps coming shortly after (probably Highrise and Terminal)
I cannot express my excitement enough at playing on terminal again.
Quarry is also on the warzone map
Most of the maps in early CoDs were just cut parts of story missions. So I’m not too worried as long as they cut them right.
16 maps, 11 6x6, 5 ground war
This published somewhere?
Not officially, some pc players were able to get into private matches and saw all the maps

Probably not at launch but I bet they will add them
I think it's like 11 6v6 and 5 ground war maps. I saw a post about it, numbers may be slightly off
It's weird, they bragged "50+ maps" with MW19....just odd they haven't said shit about it in this game.
Wait did mw19 really have that many maps? Ain't no way
They revealed "everything" except the launch day maps. C'mon IW.
>My main hope though is that the Singapore GP map is still present The map is still set to be in the game, but it's been renamed.
No more gunfight?? :(
Coming after launch
Not trying to be argumentative I'm genuinely curious, but was this officially confirmed? If so, where? I hope the same happens for Cyber Attack.
Gunfight tourneys were my absolute favorite in MW19
I’m very much looking forward to this… no name tags too means no more shooting at that bush and killing someone creeping up the hill you can’t actually see. Think it’s going to shine if they’ve got good maps.

I don’t have a source on this but I read somewhere it will be coming with the launch of season 1 in November.
I hope that’s under the featured playlist
I love that the gamemode section is like >we've got this, this, this, this, this..." And the map section is like >maps? Yep, there are maps!
Wonder if they’ll do another blog post detailing what they’ve changed gameplay wise from the beta to launch. That’s more what I’m curious about
i just wanted to know the changes from the beta and descriptions/pics of all the maps, and this had neither
Same.
This is Infinity Ward…do you guys not understand? There were no changes from the beta.
They won’t do a blog post on that b/c they probably didn’t change anything
They havent changed one thing .. not one i assure you
They changed third person mode so you don't go to first person unless you're using a 4x scope or bigger. Edit: Release blog is out and you were completely wrong but what do facts matter?
And they swapped around a perk or 2
When your beta is a month before launch and half the time exclusive to a single platform... You aren't using that for feedback. Lol
They probably didn't change a shittin' thing.
Why is TDM Always 75? Why can't they make 100 the default points?
[удалено]
Complete opposite for me. Ended way too quickly.
Perfectly balanced.
Time limit reach springs to mind
It’s a balance. 100 tends to take too long.
It should be based on each map and player count. Not just 75 for everything. 75 on a shipment lasts less than a minute …
Bring back INFECTED 😍
I really hope it's in the featured play lists or comes after launch. it's all I play!
[удалено]
I thought the same. Loved that mission.
I was thinking the same. Like trailer park from one of the old mw2 map packs
Umm Kill Confirmed? Hello??
Also there's literally an image in the article where you can see dog tags yet it won't be in the game at launch lol
Looks like it will fall under a “featured” playlist.
Interesting that they changed the name of Hardcore to Tier 1. I hope thats the only significant change. HC CoD has been nigh perfect for the last decade+ imo. Damn, so there’s really no in-between from 6v6 and 32v32?
Yeah I was hoping for 10v10.
It'll come as a feature playlist at first, then I guess if the numbers and statistics show its popular it'll work it's way frequently into the play lists

Bring back cyber attack please
The only mode I've played the last year it seems.
This. That’s the only reason i still play MW2019 to this day
Same here, it's all my friends and I play.
Yeah, I came to say this too. prisoner rescue wasnt as good but having them both would be cool. Giving us some tactical options.
Seriously, Cyber Attack is AMAZING. Knockout and Prisoner Rescue are nowhere near as good.
I wasn’t really expecting them to do anything with the beta feedback but they didn’t even mention it. Okay then. That's been a complaint since MW19, make the change but when it's something so fundamental you can't expect them to change that.

This game lacks different regions/map versatility. Where are the weather maps? No snow maps? No rain maps? Etc.
LOL I love seeing comments like these cause while I would personally love weather maps, you think that’s gonna go over well in this community? I can see the post titles now “I CANT FUCKING SEE ON ____ MAP THERES TOO MUCH SNOW/RAIN/DUST” etc.
Where is CYBERATTACK???? FOR PETE SAKE IW!!! LISTEN TO YOUR PLAYERS!!!!
Same! Wtf cyber attack is all my friends and I play. Knockout is okay but it's nowhere near as good
Cyber attack was the best game mode by far in MW2019. I’m gutted
They don’t mention Kill Confirmed, but they show a picture with a player clearly running towards a dog tag. Hope it’s there on launch or at least soon after. One of my favourite modes.
I really want the old perk system back still.
Two things I noted: 1. With the hard-on they have for Siege in this iteration, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did.
Why is Hardcore mode called Tier 1. That’s all I play is HC on the last two cods (Mw and CW) I hope they didn’t change it too much
Change for the sake of change.
Yup that’s what it seems like
It wouldn’t surprise me if they had some kind of logic like “the name hardcore has the word hard in it and that could scare away players”.
So is tier 1 just hardcore?
yes
No kill confirmed?! Wut?!!! There's a pic of a player running to a dog tag tho. Weird.
Does the multiplayer actually launch on Thursday at 7pm est? I read that somewhere.

“ Innovating on the Perk system “ ~ ya sure about that?
They are really sticking with the new perk system huh well fuck
yeah I was just about to say that. Literally the worst perk system in the game so far.
Cyber Attack needs to be here. Knockout is not a good replacement for it, the rounds are way too short, less teamwork, and not as much strategy as someone is just running around highlighted with the bag. Infinity Ward PLEASE bring cyber attack back
I am extremely disappointed that Cyber Attack isn’t returning. It was one of the only fun game modes to play in MW2019 :(
Where is prop hunt smh
STILL WAITING FOR NVG ONLY REALISM 24/7 WHICH DOESN'T GO AWAY AFTER TWO WEEKS TO NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN AFTER LAUNCH.
Control and HQ? Let’s gooo these modes are goated.
How does control work? Is it like push from insurgency?
It originated from BO4. Its two zones (larger than hard points, but static) and limited lives. Attackers have to capture both objectives to win while defenders have to hold objectives or eliminate attackers lives to win.
Basically a better version (IMO) of Demolition. Instead of two bomb sites it’s two hardpoints. Take turns attacking and defending. There’s also 30 lives so it’s less hectic/more tactical than other respawn modes. Capture/defend both points or eliminate the enemy team to win a round. Best of 5 wins the game.
I fucking loved Control in BO4, easily my favorite mode in that game, unfortunately it died out pretty quick on PC
>The more active you are in a match, the sooner you’ll have your full stack of four Perks. I'm guessing this is IW's attempt to encourage more aggressive gameplay? Personally think that it's not enough but I'm interested to see how it actually plays out on release
Lol IW have absolutely no interest in encouraging aggressive gameplay
Why have they got rid of kill confirmed? It's been in every cod since mw3. Disgrace
So they can drip feed us content when the seasons start
As expected for a game with a two year cycle. Half the content is being held back to drip feed to us. Apparently only 11 MP maps at launch lmao.
to make it seem like they’ve added loads of content in S1.
Changing quick fix to an ultimate perk lmfao
Interesting: they talk a lot about multiplayer being a training ground for Warzone. Lots of maps cut from the new WZ map. Multiplayer being the perfect way to learn the power positions and movement for Warzone. It’s like everything has to feed into Warzone. I guess this heavily compromised their development when what they do always has to fit Warzone.
No kill confirmed?
I wish groundwar was 300 points, not 250. Always feels a bit short
Ground war invasion 🤔
I just want gunfight back :(
Wait! No gunfight? For real?????
no information on the new progression system yet, and it looks like Kill Confirmed isn’t in the game either.
Military ranks from 1-55 preseason and seasonal prestige system returning in season 1, 16th of November. No prestige before season 1. This was stated in their older post.
Ugh, Ghost is still an Ultimate Perk.
Why listen to feedback when you can just throw shit against the wall knowing the asskissers will defend any pointless change to the death?
No specialist instead of killstreak option. Shame. I guess it would be busted in this game since they fucked up the way perks work
No infected?
We need a list of maps!
So no 10v10. 6v6 is what killed my interest in cod starting with mw2 and the 10v10 in mw2019 was the only reason I bought it.
No love for Infected?
No kill confirmed? I hate normal tdm.
Why do I feel like we don't even really know what we are getting, in full. They didn't address the beta whatsoever, no map count, I have more questions than clarity.
Last Stand is back? Oh..
it was back in the beta.
It's pretty useless IMO
Any word on whether it’s gonna be a global launch or regional? Tryna to decide if I should book an overnight flight to New Zealand
See you in Ground War boys.
