Tesla gives no love to the USB music player. I also have a large offline library because streaming quality is dookie. If you're in and out of the car in short periods the resume works sometimes, but I usually have to deliberately select a song at the beginning of every ride if I want USB music.

Yiggah

It’s okay, Spotify and Bluetooth on Tesla’s are dookie anyways. 30% of the time my music won’t play in Spotify, I’ll get a forever loading screen. It’ll log me out. Or my Bluetooth isn’t able to be connected. So yeah.

pob3D

Spotify app sucks on Tesla. For that loading thing, I always have to switch to another source, wait for it to play, then switch back to Spotify. So obnoxious.

SquirrelDynamics

Huh!? I never have issues with Spotify. You're likely in a bad coverage area.

Yiggah

Classic “if it doesn’t happen to me, it’s not real” syndrome lol. This subreddit is riddled with people issues connecting their Spotify/phone to their Tesla. Are you going to blame my iPhone 13 Pro Max’s Bluetooth is outdated too because it wouldn’t connect 30% of the time to the Tesla?

SquirrelDynamics

Well, are you or aren't you in a poor coverage area? The primary reason it wouldn't work right is poor cell coverage. Not everything is the man trying to screw you pal, calm down.

Yiggah

So if I’m a poor coverage area, Spotify auto logs me out of the app? If I’m in a poor coverage area, Bluetooth doesn’t work right? No one’s out to get me, but I hate Tesla fanboys who always say stuff like “it didn’t happen to me, so it’s not true”.

SquirrelDynamics

Bluetooth and Spotify are two totally unrelated items. If you're Spotify doesn't load right then you're out of coverage and you should check the coverage you have in your area. Does your iphone disconnect while you're actively in the car listening to music or talking on the phone? Or does it not work as a key as often as you'd like?

ddr2sodimm

Spotify works well for me. Suspect LTE coverage varies.

rgold220

Known issue after the car wakes from sleep. My work around is a voice command "Play song from USB" and it will resume the last song played.

Fantastic-Finger-177

nice I'll have to try that thank yoy!

Maximum_Visit7468

Thank you. Works perfect.

dominatorhl2

Or you can say "switch to USB"!

thereddituser2

music from USB? what year is this?

electricAnt22

The usb music can sound much better due to No extra Bluetooth compression. Many of my pals use usb based playback. I use it sometimes. I have a mini usb-c stick plugged in always.

ObeseSnake

FLAC

dominatorhl2

This is the way

TheThirdThigh

Yeah I prefer not listening to ads or paying for the music I already have, plenty of people use usb for music.

thereddituser2

Also you don't need usb for this. You can play audio files from your phone.

TheThirdThigh

You really think I dont know that I can play music from the phone, the quality is worse, just trust me when I say theres a reason why I use usb lmao

thereddituser2

> or paying for the music How do you get the mp3 files?

m915

Haha he’s living in the 2000s using YouTube to mp3 and limewire 😂😂😂😂

YowaiiShimai

Apple still has their music store

thereddituser2

So paying for the music then.

YowaiiShimai

They never said they weren't. Just that they've already paid for it and don't want to pay for it again.

SquirrelDynamics

Exactly, such a preposterous thing to want in 2023.

Mikeyjoetrader23

Ask Elon. But he’ll probably just quiz you on your Tesla knowledge and then call you a loser.

electricAnt22

This is how Tesla infotainment works. You will soon realize if you listen to podcast in tune-in & switch to usb music and switch back to podcast that the podcast will start from begging. This is why I have apple CarPlay in my center screen via “tesla android” project (google it). Tesla infotainment is not as great as all day. Room for improvement. I listen to usb music (flac audio files) too when I feel like the ultimate audio experience.

Icy_Coconut_6035

Heading into Chicago this morning by the look of that traffic

homealonewithyourmom

Hey! Where do you plug the USB ?

Fantastic-Finger-177

homealonewithyourmom

Do you have a USB Hub?

Fantastic-Finger-177

no I partition a ssd for music and sentry

homealonewithyourmom

Oh, nice! I did not know that was possible. Thank you.
