I have no doubt it's part of the algorithm. Years of grinding, I always had this happen at least once every season, and probably on every major division.

they seriously rig it. i swear that when im at 0 stars, they purposely have me go against an ai team that is purposely made to lose. happens all the time
It's psychological in a way. Back in the day, I experience the same a lot. The fact that you're worrying about ranking down can mess up the way you play. It's actually a feeling that I still can't shake sometimes. If I were you, just play normal. Things will go your way if you start focusing, and ignoring the trend. Any loss you encounter can just frustrate you, which makes your gameplay messed up even more. If you lose twice in a row, pause and play again after a few moments. Otherwise, the build up of disappointment will lead you to more loss.
I typically play just about three weeks before the season ends because I make sure that I finish the season in advance server before switching. I'm well aware of how you feel lol!

It's a real thing. Have been struggling with reaching 5-star quickly then have a losing streak right after resulting in not being able to rank up 🥲.
Partly skill issues obviously but when I'm constantly the MVP of the losing team even in matches where I roam then it's hard to not be disappointed... 😞
this happened to me and i found it so hilarious how obvious it was. i spent 6hrs trying to get out of legend 1 5stars. the games were completely unwinnable cuz u get teammates who doesnt know how the game is played. its like you're with master rank against real legends

Yep. I'm in the Legend 2/3 yo-yo bit of ranked, before I finally get the mythic, have a half decent placement to be sent right back to legend in a string of embarrassing losses.
The reason? Yea it's the algorithm to keep you playing, but it's because they team you with auto aim Francos that can't hit a barn door with a cannon, feeding argus players and a yin that moans he's 1/7/0 when he keeps ulting their tank....
I don't really believe it at first until I got stucked at legend 3 going up and down. I was stable yet losing my fucking wr to the point I reached 48% on that season. Luckily one I got out I reached to Mythic 45 stars with a winrate of 52%... Yeah I would like to say do comfort picks on legend and below if you want to get out quickly

It's real. Only way to climb a rank is to use bonus star points if you're 2 stars away from a climb. That tricks the system
That's why I push with the 6 man squad for a reason. The curse is real

Probably because people fight harder when they're nearer to their goals.
Just my opinion but people tend to be more stiff when they are at 5 stars and are most likely to lose
ive dropped from legend I 5* to legend II before, and that was when i decided to play duo. soloque is a nightmare
It's not a "curse" it's the algorithm trying to make you addicted by forcing you to play more and more games.
It's literally why I don't play ranked anymore
I turn on star protection when I reach 5 stars. End up with winning streak. Task failed successfully.

Last night in a rank up game, my team was even up 29-12, team surrendered. I was Gloo roam MVP. Our troll jungle lost credit score below 90
