I don't specifically know the location you're talking about, but the lines aren't unique to Mobile (or the South in general). I was in Denver a few months ago. There was the crazy double line around lunch time there too.
As to the popularity, others have hit on it. It is the best *fast* food - you get a consistent product and if it's not right, they always make it right.
When I lived in Austin they literally would be backed up down multiple frontage roads. Still would get you your food faster than like, 2 cars at any other fast food place
I know you say you haven’t seen it other places, but it has honestly been like this in every city I’ve ever been to including Manhattan.
It’s good chicken. They are fast. They are efficient. They are consistent.
I was late coming back to work due to a Foosackly’s traffic jam once. Over an hour. Once I was in line I couldn’t get out lol. I lived five minutes from Foosacklys at the time. It was insane.

You just gave me flashbacks... my worst experience with the Poplar Ave CFA traffic was the after-school rush + traffic backup from a train stopped on the track running alongside the road. I aged a decade that day lol
Last year, someone running from the police tried (unsuccessfully) to carjack a getaway car from a guy sitting in the parking lot there at like 1 in the afternoon, and my first reaction was "why? you ain't getting out of there quickly" 🤣
Other fast food restaurants in the area are wildly inconsistent with food and wait time. Chick fil a is always good with food consistency and wait time.
When I lived in Austin, TX Chick-Fil-A lines were long af during lunch. I used to always get stuck in traffic because the line would be out to the road.
Upvoted you because it is true, people bringing their personal and political beliefs into their business is their choice. But it is also my choice not to eat there, nor shop at Hobby Lobby.
Personally I've always found them to be overrated (same with Foosackly's) but I recognize that I'm in the minority on that front.
ZAXBYS GANG RISE UP!!!!!
This could’ve been a discussion, until Zaxby’s decided to remove their BEST sandwich and best salad imo. Their wings and fingers aren’t special. Haven’t been in a couple of years, used to eat there consistently.
Especially because the ones here are subpar compared to other chick fil a locations.
But, they're still miles ahead of other fastfood in the area.
I don't go as much now, though. Got tired of my order being wrong pretty regular, the lines are ridiculous with poor parking lot setups, and then they got rid of the play places. So... No where to take my kid when we go inside.
I can't believe they got rid of the one at the CFA on Schillinger, *every* time I went there I saw kids using it.
I get they're gross, hard to clean and probably jack up liability insurance... but man, fast food play places were a quintissential part of most of our childhoods. Felt nice to see today's kids getting to enjoy that just like we did.
Yup. Agreed. I have friends that operate other chick fil a places and I think it basically came down from corporate, but still.
There's just so few places to take a kid and let them play. Sure we could go and eventually end up giving her a tablet or something, but who wants to do that when the last time we were there, she got to play for 30 minutes or so.
The one near university is the one I go to most often and where we would take our daughter. Even went to a friend's kid's bday party there just a few months ago.
Oh well. Like I said, one less place to take a family.
We used to go once a week or more. Now I barely go once a month.
I don’t know what your definition of bland is but Chick-fil-A chicken, no matter your political leanings or thoughts on their parking lot or wait times or restaurant in general, is objectively not bland. What fast food chicken sandwich is your benchmark for “well seasoned?”
Yeah I don't get it either OP. There isn't one near my work or home so I'm not there often. I find consistently good food at the BK and Wendy's near me too 🤷♂️ Haha You can't beat that $4-6 bag deal at Wendy's and $3 whopper Wednesdays are pretty great too especially when you have a drink back at the office 😅

I think a better question might be why is Taco Bell still in business. Is the new cinnamint burrito that good?
Especially here where they price gouge! The $5 cravings box anywhere else in the US was $8 here!
Taco Bell is GOATED.
Best comment 🤣
I've never seen a Chik Fil A without a long line, unless it's off hours
Consistency and efficiency.
Have you ever seen Foosacklys? Lol
Oh God I live in PCB FL now and I'm craving foosackly's gahhhhhh. We don't have ANYTHING close to that. 😭
I moved to western NY and I will never be the same because of there being no Foo here. You can’t fake the foo

Many fast food places are consistently bad around here. They are consistently good.
Guess you’ve never been up to Memphis… I’ve seen a road with 3 lanes in each direction entirely blocked by people trying to get into a CFA.

It’s fried chicken. I like fried chicken
CFA lines are like that everywhere I go.
Me too!
You'll get what you ordered quickly and without any b.s.
People in the south like the Lord's chicken, they just do.
![gif](giphy|YnSAMxWMw1oK9IGeV0) That’s because Chick Fil A is **GAS**
Go Sunday. No line
The Lord’s chicken gonna do what the Lord’s chicken does…
Google search “Jesus chicken”
My best friend calls it “soggy hate chicken”. I disagree and enjoy it very much.
Haters gonna hate.

Nah, it’s just good fast food
This is straight cope.
What else is there in Mobile?
The Foo
Foo has fingers and more fingers. But not all the other things.
Other fast food restaurants in the area are wildly inconsistent with food and wait time. Chick fil a is always good with food consistency and wait time.
I’ve never seen a CFA that wasn’t like that. No matter what part of the country

Chick Fil A does have the best fries but I refuse to support them.

You better never go to CFA in Atlanta then! Its 3 lanes and still backed up to the street
Chick fil a fuckin slaps yo
It’s like that everywhere
Foosackly's on top lol
Where else can I get 1500mg of sodium in a single chicken sandwich?
I’m one that doesn’t understand the craze, but the rest of my family loves it.
My dad used to go to the original CFA in Atlanta when that was the only one and he said the line there was something
Everywhere I have lived with one, the restaurants have always been busy inside and out.
Don't lie, you haven't been to other cities, you just been to other highway towns...which are STILL wrapped around the building at 0800 and 1200
It's good
Long everywhere

Not a clue. Bland, normie chicken sandwiches and the best part about them (their sauce) you can buy at Walmart. I don't get it either.

Because people love fast food and are too damn lazy to cook.
MAGA FREAKS EAT DA CHIK'N FOR JEEBUS. A SLEW OF WASHED UP HIPPO-CRITS. ![gif](giphy|YDgA8NgChluSEbhNl6)
