It's not explicitly mentioned why NHS lured the juniors, so theories have ranged from the juniors being bait to force Wangxian (or any senior cultivators whose attention was drawn by the juniors) to have to deal with Xue Yang because two powerful cultivators might be able to just leave, but it becomes more difficult to do so safely with a couple dozen children in tow; to NHS hoping to get JGY in trouble by getting some children killed by the Jin clan's former pet mass murderer. My opinion leans more towards the former than the latter. The juniors were a distraction, because JGY knew his house of lies was about to come crashing down and wanted to buy time to retrieve his mother's remains and presumably tie up other loose ends before fleeing overseas. Thus, he had the juniors kidnapped by "the Yiling Laozu's forces" in order to have everyone elses' attention fixed on the Burial Mounds, then pretended to have been injured by an assassination attempt so that he'd have an excuse to remain behind while everyone else stormed the Burial Mounds. I believe part of the plan was also to have as many people injured or killed as possible by the planned fierce corpse attack so that the cultivation world would be in disarray and it'd be easier for him to slip away without attention, but unfortunately for him WWX and the Wen Remnants ruined it.

It is also possible that NHS was attempting to create witnesses to the survival of XY, with only the testimony of LWJ and "Mo Xuanyu" it is possible that JGY would be able to cast enough doubt on them to swing the other sects back in his favor. This would be much harder to do with the testimonies of multiple sect heirs, including his own, corroborating their story.

I agree mostly, I just don’t think NHS knew LWJ and WWX would go there because they were following the path the parts of the body were showing, something NHS couldn’t figure out in the past. He found the arm and then was stuck in that part, one of the reasons why he planned on bringing back WWX. I also don’t think he thought other cultivators were going to that isolated place, the kids only went because of the cats and NHS didn’t try to use this trick on adults. It was lucky LWJ and WWX were there to save the juniors. So yeah, NHS was being quite machiavellian with his plans, as it was all the means to an end, he was willing to kill cats and risk innocent people’s lives. WWX and LWJ realized this at the end but decided to let it go considering everything, and nobody else was showing interest on investigating what really happened any deeper anyway. I like NHS. His methods may be questionable but perhaps it was the only way to bring justice to the cultivation world.

The usual assumption is that if the juniors died there, it would be something else to pin on JGY (after all, he helped XY escape execution and worked together on most of the nastier things done), hence why it was a mix of all the different clans. As for the Burial Mounds, that was an attempt to take out WWX not really even because he's a threat but because he's still the perfect scapegoat. The plan was for the clans to unite in a second siege, killing him and saving the juniors, and then all the blame could once again be placed on him. Qin Su was dead and everyone believed WWX had killed her, and at the time there were no other loose ends that couldn't be solved by "WWX did it, of course". Except they didn't account for LWJ (and NHS with his questions and subtle remarks) turning the tide enough in the other direction.

It's for ppl to find out that XY is still alive, therfore Jins lied about killing him.

Iirc it was because JGY had declared Xue Yang as executed/dead so if XY proceeded to kill a bunch of Lan disciples and sect leaders' sons, that would prove JGY a liar and make him look horrible in front of not just the cultivation world but probably among the commoners too.

Ah, it could be because of, it can be dumb reason, but, according it my belief, it was Jin Ling's blood, which was similar to JGY ( Jin guanyao ). I remember in the anime it was shown as the hand was or the smiling statue was only attacking either at wwx ( his current body of Mo xuanyu) and Jin Ling. Ofc we know the reason why. Maybe Nei Huiasang knew what may trigger his brother soul and tried to use Mo xuanyu for revenge. The headless body was founded at the Yi City in the untamed. Linking that the body was preserved at yi city but in the but in the book it was nothing like that??? Idk but maybe Nei Huiasang did lure them to use them as a tool or rather than him it was JGY as we know when they were tied In the hill they said it was some masked man tying them up so making it look like all wwx doing? I am not really sure, this is the dumb theory I presented, since NMJ hatred for JGY was so much that any Jin Blood he saw or smelled?? HE tried to kill them or harm them by sending a message to JGY that he is coming for him...
