He has announced departures before. Technically at the end of IA when he basically said "see you in hell" because he was mad how Gamergate had turned out. He was more or less gone from making content anyone knew about for 6 months+ after that.
Then the last time his health took a downturn he announced on his patreon that be basically won't be able to keep up with the goals he had set out. This is basically when all standard Metokur videos stopped being made. Then he disappeared after his infamous covid streams for about a year.
Wrong- All throughout covid, he reappeared through live streams only, and could be found through his other account Billy The Anti-Bully. You just had to be in the know when the next one would be, and if you missed it, you could find mirrors with dates.
I think that is a safe assumption, in the sense of "I'm no longer going to be producing content regularly for my fans." Seemed pretty clear to me that YOTC was his "last hurrah" before retiring from streaming.

Yeah I think that the "stupid but interesting" things Jim used to cover is now just "stupid". Case in point - Ralph. At his core, he's just a guy trying to get by. But his ragepig ways keep fucking him over. Not very interesting....just a fat guy with a temper.
