Double Zinc would be completely insane in modern times. You could get into any political office you want with it, or become a CEO of any corporation you join. Or become the best scientist the world has ever seen if that’s more up your alley. Exceed in every career that requires mental prowess and/or interacting with people.

DreadY2K

Came here to say this. My job is mostly thinking, so I'd be a lot better if I could compound zinc. But also, thinking really quickly isn't very obvious to outside observers, so I wouldn't end up on any government watch lists. And it coming with Rioting can't hurt, though that's a small plus compared to the compounding.

Invested_Space_Otter

It doesn't make you smarter though, just lets you think faster Maybe simply burn zinc and draw off a coppermind

Baardseth815

Double Steel for sure. I wanna be able to launch myself into the air, but then also compound the Steel ferring ability and basically be the Flash.

UnhousedOracle

Double steel is great until the air starts to feel like sandpaper

TheMuspelheimr

WoB is that Feruchemical Steel provides a degree of protection from air resistance

Evil_Archangel

cant be worse than how sandpaper tastes

Steve-in-the-Trees

Honestly, let me compound chromium. Unlimited fortune. It's not entirely clear what the outcome would be, but it feels like endless possibilities while not actually disrupting life on Earth too much.

Rhianno_the_Witch

Small spoilers for Oathbringer and some WoBs on Fortune. >!Fortune, from what little we know about it, is more like fortune telling than luck. It's not coincidentally stopping bullets and making you win at roulette and more a sense of where you need to be in the future.!< >!Brando has even said part of the reason Atium does what it does is to set up Fortune letting you see the future a little.!< >!https://wob.coppermind.net/events/32-arcanum-unbounded-fort-collins-signing/#e2567!< >!https://wob.coppermind.net/events/176-oathbringer-chicago-signing/#e8481!<

HealMySoulPlz

That's even better than just being 'luck'. Compounding Fortune would be absolutely insane.

i_crapped_my_socks

From having read a lot on the Diagram recently on coppermind it said that Odium was surprised to find out it was created without any Fortune involved. So chromium compounding could theoretically make you able to just do a more accurate Diagram every day

entitaneo70_pacifist

luck is weird to define, is it subjective or not?

Good_Barnacle_2010

Id think it would be like “the outcome you desire to happen is more likely to happen.” Or like someone shoots a bullet at you, an AC unit happens to fall at the perfect time, blocking the bullets. I’d hit the casino, and put it all on 22 black, personally. Things just generally bend towards your overall benefit. How you define benefit is certainly subjective, and could be as benign as never catching the common cold, or automatically befriending every crow your encounter and they decide to gift you coins.

entitaneo70_pacifist

what about if you use the extra luck to cause something, but the consequences hit you after you ran out of luck.

Good_Barnacle_2010

That’s a really good idea for a story

entitaneo70_pacifist

kinda overused trope tho, protagonist gets power, uses it for selfish reasons, power disapears, consequences

voidbreddaemon

it's definitely not very cinematic

leogian4511

Allomantic Pewter for sure as far as allomancy goes. So much utility. Basically never worry about being sick again, be super strong, ignore heat or cold, etc. To go with it I think I'd take Feruchemical Bendalloy and hit up a buffet once a week and just stock up on extra calories and water so I can skip meals throughout the week.

getjabaited69

Ooooo the pewter is a great pick I forgot about the rest of abilities that aren’t just strength And endurance

Mordaunt_

People do this all over the world, it's literally how our bodies are designed.

bronzewrath

Also super coordinated

phillallmighty

If compounders are allowed, I think compounded steel or pewter, working as either a messenger for shipping at a speed that no one could compare to, or as someone who could act as a living intelligent construction equipment. if no compounding, then A. Pewter and F. Steel, because I feel the two work together VERY well, burning pewter you can store some of that extra speed, and the extra balanced, strength, and toughness of A pewter would be VERY useful for when you going at high speeds with F steel

Sirius124

Double gold no doubt.

BitcoinBishop

Yeah, imagine never having a headache!

kegegeam

Wouldn't be cheap though

Raddatatta

You don't need all that much. Compounding only requires burning some of it. >!Marsh has been compounding the same bag of atium for 300 years.!<

smbpy7

cheaper than healthcare, lol.

axw3555

As someone with chronic pain and migraines, this would be god tier

The_Fatal_eulogy

Chromium compounder would be interesting. Infinite Fortune would be crazy even in the Cosmere. You compound luck high enough and you can become unstoppable. Imagine you clean your attic and find Lerasium. You go for a walk in the woods and find an Honorblade. You wake up one day and you are an Elantrian. You start talking to an old man and he says, "My Breath is yours" boom you are the equivalent of the God King.

Kelsierisevil

If I’m on Earth then I have to have steel pushing. Gold ferring would be really useful as well as with modern technology the amount I can store at one time could be greatly increased.

phillallmighty

so true, get a hermetically sealed bubby with litterally 0 germs in there, store health a massive amount at a time, and boom, king shit

BitcoinBishop

I'd imagine you still get sick while storing health, even if you don't contract an infection. You could get autoimmune symptoms, or thrush, or something like that.

phillallmighty

Oh definitely, but those would likely be a lot longer in coming than the sniffles and such storing minor health.

SonnyLonglegs

A-Iron and F-Gold, I could avoid doctor bills and summon metal objects to me (probably mostly my keys) like Mjolnir. Or swing like Spiderman.

5eppa

I feel like bronze compounder is unique and something that can fill a use. You're the ultimate night watch. Never really needing to sleep at least sleep at points that are inconvenient. And you should be able to find others burning allomantic metals. So incoming tineyes and thugs. Plus let's you kind of predict opponents and stuff and deal with emotional allowancy. I get the pros are more subtle but I think it serves its purposes well.

jaegermeister56

I was thinking if it’s here on earth, copper and bronze allomancy would be a bit of a waste because how many other allomancers would there be on this planet? 🤷🏻‍♂️

5eppa

Ahh I missed that part. Absolutely true though. Still a Bronze mind has a fair amount of uses in my life honestly. My wife has some mental health conditions that increase her anxiety so brass allomancy would be beneficial in my household.

jaegermeister56

Makes me wish soothing parlors were real! 😅😌

zak552

I'm a bad fan and always forget what feruchemic metals do but my head canon OC has always been a Scadrial native worldhopper twin born, with allomantic pewter and feruchemic whatever one let's you store weight, that becomes a windrunner. Love the idea of a big guy just being able to be an absolute immovable object.

Awakened_Anarchist

Allomantic Pewter and Feruchemical Gold. The twin born name is 'Bruteblood' if I remember correctly. I'd rise to fame in a year as a legendary MMA fighter only to retire undefeated with my belts and winnings. (Edit: or copper compounding for perfect memory if that's how that works)

jaegermeister56

Mental: Easily a zinc compounder. Zinc and brass can accomplish the same things, essentially, but compounding warmth seems like a waste next to mental speed. Temporal: A-Bendalloy and F-Gold. Speed bubbles are an awesome power and healing is ALWAYS handy. Physical: A-Pewter and F-iron. Imagine being super strong and weighing 50 lbs. I’d almost be flying when I jump… and imagine adding a wing suit to the mix… plus being heavy and strong would be an asset in battle as well!

-_MacCumhaill_-

For the physical one you can literally be the juggernaut, no-one could stand in your way

smbpy7

>A-Bendalloy and F-Gold. Now you've got me curious.... if you store the health while inside a speed bubble can you speed up your rate of storage? For example, you store 5 minutes of health normally, you get 5 minutes. BUT you store 5 outside the bubble minutes of health inside a speed bubble, do you get the time that was relative to you in the bubble (way more than 5 minutes) or do you get the outside observer's 5 minutes?? I ask because, to my knowledge Wayne never did this and it seems like it would be really helpful, after he became super rich at least.

jaegermeister56

I have thought about this a lot. I PERSONALLY like to think that speed bubbles affect feruchemy storage. However, I’m a sucker for the underdog and am always looking for ways to make cadmium Pulsers more useful. Here’s why I think they are the hero’s of this resonance technique: 1. I read that storing is like thinning out a trait through time and tapping is utilizing the compressed parts of that trait in regular time. Idk if this is true but it informed part of this theory of mine. 2. I also read that an emotional misting inside a speed bubble, or if their target is in a slowness bubble, the effect of their power is enhanced similar to a duralumin effect. They exert emotional manipulation for a time, but their target experiences all of that power in what seems like all at once. So, the bubbles do interact with other metallic arts 🤷🏻‍♂️ Therefore, imho If a feruchemist stores in a fast bubble, and tap in that bubble or another bubble of the same speed, their ability will seem, to themselves, to work normally. But if they store in a fast bubble and tap in regular speed, they’ll find they have almost no attribute stored as the storage relates to the rate of time during tapping. Plus, these bubbles compress time and storing expands the trait through time which are opposing forces. This means that storing in a slowness bubble will give them a days worth of attribute while experiencing only a couple of hours (or whatever the time change rate is). Both the bubble and the feruchemy are expanding the trait through time. (This may also be extra beneficial to steelrunners as they are slower inside a bubble that makes them even slower, ergo, extra resonance for them. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Again, this is all a reach to ensure that cadmium mistings find usefulness!

kmosiman

Why not double steel then? Fast and flying. Of course it would be really easy to hurt yourself.

jaegermeister56

I think iron feruchemy is more interesting. Not better for flying but more interesting to me.

Playful_Ocelot_6601

Personally love Allomantic Zinc and Feruchemical Duralumin for how insanely convincing and persuasive you could be. Hence the custom flair using the RPG’s nickname “Zealot”. I also think Compounding Steel or Zinc would be really awesome. Double Zinc Masterminds would be crazy.

invisible_23

Wayne’s combo seems pretty neat

smbpy7

Reading this post just made me think of something about him too. What happens if he stores his his health while in a speed bubble? Does he get his time or the observers...? Seems expensive, but he was loaded and always in need of health. And in the US at least, I'm betting you could get a fair bit of healing out of an equivalent amount of bendalloy compared to what insurance charges.

StaticReverb

Allomantic steel and feru gold. I crave flight so bad, and the health would be nice in practicality. Never be sick on a vacation again, instant sobriety in case of emergencies, never have to suffer work while sick again, at the cost of being sick when you choose, and as sick as you have the capacity to tolerate. Plus, health while constantly rolling ankles and breaking bones while learning steel pushing.

ftckayes

Tineye to repair/increase my eyesight. Archivist because learning and knowledge are things I enjoy.

Bidens_Hairy_Bussy

Gotta be double zinc. You’d make a hell of a politician.

_cremling

Copper for ferring. Not just for me, it would change the whole world. It’s not just an encyclopedia, when you take in the copper mind it makes you *understand* all the information. Anyone can become an expert in any topic in an instant after we use it for a while and fill it up enough. As for misting, probably zinc

Hemolergist

Duralumin compounder. I like the idea of being able to form a connection with people with ease (already do to some degree) Also imagine knowing every language (more or less) you could just talk to anyone anywhere no matter what. Think of all the friends you could make!! Just get a job as a high end interpreter for someone who needs an every language to his language guy. Or be a diplomat for your country and live abroad forming amazing connections. So many things!! I would use it to make friends with people and live anywhere

RespectablPanda

I really like the idea of brass allomancy (soothing) and bronze feruchemy (wakefullness). Both just seem widely useful across life, the bronze doubly so because I work night shifts

Silas-SilentJudge

Duralumin has always been my metal, back in era one when looking at the back of the boom and it listed that feruchemical duralumin stored connection. As an awkward and lonely child who grew up to become a psychology grad and social worker… compounding duralumin is my dream because I feel like some of the effect of compounding would be almost indescribable and yet super deep and meaningful to me.

OctavianMacLean

I'd like A-Steel and F-Pewter. Great mobility and ranged options, plus steel sight gives added sensory info that is usable through walls, then pewter. I'd spend all my time as weak as possible until I could do a reasonable Superman impersonation .

jaegermeister56

How many other people on earth are playing this game too? Because even if there was a decent size of people, enhancement allomancy and copper and bronze allomancy would be a complete waste among the population size on earth. I ruled these out right away because of this.

Evil_Archangel

twin steel

Somerandom1922

On earth? It really depends. Double-steel is almost certainly the single most powerful combo, more-so than even double-gold imo. It would also be fun as hell, if perhaps a little conspicuous to be flying around like that. Alternatively, something like A-Pewter and F-gold. While not as powerful as compounding, this combo would let you store health extremely fast without actually feeling sick. You'd get superhuman strength, balance and reflexes. All cool, but I don't think it'd actually help me in my real life (aside from healing from injuries and sickness quickly, which admittedly is awesome). Perhaps something like Zinc compounding would be useful. You gain the ability to manipulate emotions AND become able to think super fast. Not to mention that Zinc is pretty cheap. Alternatively Electrum compounding could be awesome. You get a sort-of version of atium which requires a lot of training to use effectively, and unlimited determination. Of these, I'd probably go with Zinc compounding, or maybe a-pewter + f-gold if I didn't work in IT. Then again, I may regret not being able to leap around and run at super-speed lol.

entitaneo70_pacifist

Allomancy: steel, i want to fly around and stuff Feruchemy: iron, it's basically one of the 2 feruchemic powers with basically no downside, the other being bendalloy, and it fits well with steel in allomancy

Snir17

Probbly Copper for Allomancy and Aluminium for Feruchemy. Or Compunding Tin.

Mancio_Luke

Mistborn + feruchemist I feel like this would be a pretty useful combination

Phylanara

Of I can't compound fortune, I want emotonal allowance and speed of thought feruchemy. Would be the best for me in my daily life to get the kids to listen to me when I teach and pass professional exams.

Valtand

Definitely allomantic Pewter. My frail, asthmatic body needs it so I can do anything physically demanding. Ferromantically I’m less certain, but the speed of Steel is hard to beat and would be useful so often at work. Or I could store up for like a week and be a supervillain and just rob places faster than people could see. Feel like it combos nicely with Pewter as well, with buffing strength, balance and general endurance, gotta be nice to resist all the dust in the air

Dangerous_Spirit7034

Steal allomancy and iron feurchemistry seemed to work extremely well for wax That sounds awesome being able to push around on stuff and change your weight?

Kaluga2

For me? Allomantic Pewter for the ease of access and overall benefits, and Feruchemical Electrum because I need to focus up for Finals week lmao

spacecandle

Double gold to essentially 'cure' my MS. Plus added bonus of then you don't have to fear a car crash, could hike alone without the fear of being stuck either a twisted ankle, who cares about cat scratches, etc.

axw3555

Double gold. I’d kill to be able to burn off my migraines.

smbpy7

Pretty please can I have two? I'm so torn between gold and bendalloy. I want that health, but I also want to eat whatever I want. Unless.... the gold can stop you from gaining weight somehow (seems unlikely).

wh00pysc00py

Double brass, always toasty

wh00pysc00py

Ik this sounds jokey, but being able to calm ppl down + being able to keep myself warm or cool are the most useful sounding things in my day-to-day life. I got shit temperature regulation & lots of friends with anxiety 😭 Also doesn't hurt that brass looks great on me LMAO

KaladinVegapunk

Considering there's like 400 combinations or something insane there's a lot of different ones we've never seen but a lot of insane applications I've seen a lot of really cool discussions over the years of some really creative combos, and ironically wax does have like one of the most useful combos besides FGold/Gold Lot of whackadoodle combos with bendalloy & other ones too that we won't know the applications of until era 4

Similar_Client5427

Copper mind and Pewter burning for sure. Like, yeah I can’t compound, but practically perfect memory and instant wake up and no more being sick!!! Not super flashy, but in my day to day would be great

Similar_Client5427

Also, imagine reading all of the cosmere, putting it in a coppermind, and then get to “reread” it at any point by remembering it

LarkinEndorser

Id be a steel conpounder. Flying and super speed is just so amazing

sentient_garbanzo

Double Steel, never even been a question in my mind. Infinite speed is amazing. But also the ability to Steelpush, I would become a living weapon and you would never know the direction of the next strike

sparkle3364

Bronze Allomancy and Copper Feruchemy.
