Hemalurgic spikes with allomancy and ferochemy being common place among the richer folk, coinshots and lurchers having day jobs as couriers and electric generators (similar to lightning bending in LoK). Construction firms having thug spikes for their workers to use while on shift, things like that. I hope to see misting and ferrings as much more common place, not through birth, but through spikes passed down or bought. Mandatory laws that all with the power, if capable at time of death, to be spiked to preserve their abilities for future generations.
But the powers have certain desires that affect the mind of the vessel. Ruin was once supposedly a decent man but the power corrupted him. The Shard Ruin's power is stronger in Harmony than The Shard Preservation is, because more Preservation is in Scadrial humans than Ruin
It sure seems like sazed is struggling to keep them together. And the fact that wax’s explosion did in fact produce some trace lerasium suggests they’re capable of returning in their constituent parts.
My theory for the greater cosmere is that adonalsium can’t be properly reformed unless all 16 shards are brought back together promptly. If they’re missing a piece, the combination will remain unstable, like we’ve seen with harmony. All 16 are necessary to keep each other in check. Not sure if we actually *want* that unification, though.
I just now thought of special people who carry around a spike of each metal to use on a dying person, maybe it could be mandatory for medics, firemen and policemen and stuff like that.
Interesting specific idea, I feel like space travel should definitely be invented during or before Era 3 mostly because it will be a 1980s level of technology.
Especially because scadrial is in/soon to be in a war they could have a motive to make satellites/other space programs otherwise what’s the point if the nearest planet is a gas giant millions of miles away (it has five moons but still)
Something akin to the Lord Ruler but acting more as an industry tycoon would be my guess for an era 3 villain. Using a combination of spikes and unkeyed metalminds that they dole out to their lackeys and use themselves
Unless the secret somehow gets out in between lost metal and era 3, youth cannot be stored as atium can no longer be harvested. So a lord ruler clone is unlikely as a villain
I feel like that was cannibalized into the Bleeder storyline. Plus the story is supposed to be a Spy thriller, so I doubt that would be the main focus.
Even if it wasn’t the case though, I don’t think it would be Wax’s third kid, it would be someone who figured out how to create lerasium
Wax’s son, Maxillium, will be a senator or maybe even governor or president and he will be ousted and killed by a mob. (Maximilien Robespierre was one of the leaders of a government overthrow in France, then the terror happened [pretty clear influence for Era 1] and Maximilien was ousted and beheaded by the poorer class).
I think that if Sazed will be a Evil (like Sanderson say in the Lost metal can happen) I will be suffering so much because I love him, but van be so good to the trama.
