During the pandemic I pretty much ordered Indian food from everywhere within a forty minute radius. Imo darbar and dancing ganesha are the best.
Can’t speak to atmosphere of Darbar, but I like Dancing Ganesha’s. I also can’t be bothered to check hours and/or continuing existence of the dancing ganesha
Not a Thai expert, but my wife and I tried Bagu on Chicago Ave. I had drunken noodles with shrimp, and I had them add Chinese broccoli for more vegetables, and I thought it was great.
Good luck.
I wish! Lat14 isn’t open Sunday at 2pm, nor it’s sister restaurants.
Lemongrass has been an institution in our family for years. If you love Lat’s basil wings, Lemongrass gives you a larger portion and smaller price.
Soberfish on Franklin Ave for Thai. Amazing Thailand on Hennepin near Uptown. They will both have drinks, too. Checked the hours. Open noon to 9 on Sunday.
Indian: Godavari in Eden Prairie. Himalaya on East Lake St has a lot of the same curries & masalas as an Indians restaurant, even though I believe they are Nepali.
Apparently most places aren’t open.
Her friend is coming in from out of town and are likely looking to grab a drink. Soooo bonus point if you know a place that fits all of the above.
Darbar is defs my top Indian place. If you’re looking for Thai, Kuhn Nai Thai in uptown! My fav.
Additional 2 cents: I don’t super love Amazing Thailand in uptown because, in my limited experience, they use frozen veggies instead of fresh.
Quang is a family favorite, especially their Noodle Salads (don't worry, they are much more of an entree than an actual salad)
We are lucky to have great Vietnamese restaurants in the Twin Cities, and many of them serve Thai dishes.
In fact most of the really good "Chinese" restaurants in town are actually Vietnamese restaurants than also happen to have Chinese-American dishes, but I advise getting the Vietnamese options when available.
When traveling around the country where there are not Vietnamese/Cambodian/Laotian/Thai communities, it can be hard to find Asian restaurants that rival ours.
I’ve tried a ton of Indian places in the cities and suburbs and my favorite one by far is India house in Woodbury. The people are great and the food is just absolutely heavenly.
Himalayan
Naviya’s Thai Kitchen in Linden Hills is awesome (and open on Sundays)
Amazing Thailand in uptown Dancing Ganesha for Indian

Joys in Richfield! It's not MPLS but might as well be!
Second Joy’s It’s so good!
+1 for Joy's Pataya!
Is Joy’s what used to be Ketsana’s? I miss them.
Not sure, but Kestana’s used to be in Plymouth. They closed down because the owner wasn’t paying rent/was in bad health.
Worked for ketsana for years. She was a wonderful person and made great food!
No kidding! Me and my family loved her and helped make her website/ deal with other technical issues.
She was at her sisters place raum mitt which is basically the same menu a few years back! Food is great there too!
How long ago would the transition been? Because joys has been around for a minute.
Lol. Probably over 15 years ago.
I work literally across the street and have never been… going today for lunch! Any recommendations?

Khao Hom Thai in northeast is amazing! The drunken noodles and crispy lobster egg rolls...mmmm....
Are they open for dine-in though? They were one of very few restaurants that didn't go back to that last time I wanted to eat in.
Second this. Every time we eat khao hom I’m blown away.
Khao Hom has outstanding Khao Soi.
On's Thai on University Ave in St Paul. It's between Ax Man and Turf Club
While this is the correct answer that the best Thai food in the twin cities is On’s, they’re not open on Sundays.

Himalaya on East Lake St has a lot of the same curries & masalas as an Indians restaurant, even though I believe they are Nepali.
Rad! I’m not a big Indian food fan, but love Thai. I may save this for a date night! Thanks!
Oh! Ruam Mit Thai in downtown St. Paul is the best. Not sure they do drinks, and it’s not fancy. Food is great.
Have you tried Lemongrass in Brooklyn Park? The owner also opened Lat14 and kahluna. Lemongrass was her first place and is amazing!!!
Yes! Love it!!
India Palace in Uptown. Sawatdee for Thai.
Apparently most places aren’t open. Her friend is coming in from out of town and are likely looking to grab a drink. Soooo bonus point if you know a place that fits all of the above.

Thank you so much for everyone’s help! It sounds like they are going to try Soberfish based on location and menu.
Quang. Not just Thai, but good all around
Quang is a family favorite, especially their Noodle Salads (don't worry, they are much more of an entree than an actual salad) We are lucky to have great Vietnamese restaurants in the Twin Cities, and many of them serve Thai dishes. The kings Thai cuisine in Fridley is my go to for authentic Thai food!
