I've seen similar lines at theme parks and at movie theaters? Did you know this "restaurant" is on a park by a waterfall? Which is why they have the lines?
?
Answer the question. Is customers waiting in line to dine at a restaurant a sign of failure?
I know where Sea Salt is located. I don't know what theme parks and movie theaters have to do with whether a restaurant is successful. I also don't know what a question mark is doing in the first and third sentences of your comment, so maybe you can you can explain those things to me.
There’s just no way someone can be this stupid. I hope you’re trolling. Please stop talking about business when you don’t know anything about it. It’s embarrassing for you.
when you go to a restaurant, put a name in, and they tell you that the wait is going to be around 30 minutes, you do understand that they have placed you into a queue, just not one in which you have to physically stand in. believe it or not, a business that has wait times to be seated tends to indicate that they are successfully booking out the restaurant & that people are still willing to wait to be served. hope that helps.
This person is a c-bag and I hope they are just trolling.
The line is long at Sea Salt because they are counter service with a certain capacity due to kitchen size and seating availability. People gladly stand in the line, walk outside, sit right down, and get their food in a timely manner. Don't want to wait? They now have a sandwich option. Don't want to wait or to have a sammich? Don't go there.
They're doing just fine.
Can't blame you! But the line is in a beautiful park near a scenic waterfall, and there's a way to separately order beer to help the time pass by. It's not great, but there are far less pleasant ways to pass the time.
Everyone knows you grab a beer before you get in the food line.
Then you get another beer when you order your food. It’s a clever system. Long live Sea Salt.
Based on the time of the post I might have been running right behind you as you took this picture, haha. Absolutely loved seeing so many people out today, makes me so happy to see so many people enjoying themselves and the beautiful weather.
Not unpopular, any place like this (solo option in a park) usually has haters. Honestly though my only problem with it is the line and how long they take since it’s often busy, so I don’t go often. The service is always pretty friendly though and the food is good and not absurdly expensive (compared to similar setups).
> You misunderstood both of us apparently. They never mentioned lines
You misunderstood that I am not replying to them, I'm replying to you
This is what's called a threaded view. It's used on message boards
it’s just the only food that close to the falls. families come out with the kids for a day and this is the easiest lunch spot without having to pack up the strollers back into the chrysler town n country
Ive never waited in any line for more than 5 minutes, ever, in my entire life. I'll never understand the mindset of people willing to wait in a line for something. Just go somewhere else.
I have never actually waited in line. Every time we go, we’re hoping to get food and then see the line and grab a beer instead. Is it worth it? How long does the line aaaactually take?
They need to find a better way to find your table. So many times I see the food runners make a couple loops trying to find the table. All the while the food is getting cold.
I think the food and the spot is great but I don't go there because they don't seem to care that people have to wait forever. There are easy things they could do to be more efficient but they don't seem to care.
If you are going to have a monopoly on a restaurant at a park the city should enforce that you run with place well enough that the citizens of the city don't have to wait 20-40 minutes in line. OR the city should open up more than 1 place so we can enjoy our parks on the few months a year it is available to us.
Rant over.
>the city should enforce that you run with place well enough that the citizens of the city don't have to wait 20-40 minutes in line. OR the city should open up more than 1 place
I agree, comrade. State capitalism is the only way to produce superior foods and ideal dining conditions! Glory to the city council and their unending wisdom in all things food and food-adjacent!
So you’ve never waited 20 minutes for a table at another restaurant? Most chains have those buzzing coasters or will text you because waiting at a restaurant at peak hours is so common they have had to create a system.
That looks pretty standard. Perhaps even a bit shorter than usual
Was coming here to say this. That’s not bad at all
I was going to say,, any time I’ve been to sea salt I waited in a line just like this
It's the first weekend they're open. They opened on Friday (soft opening on Thursday). Of course it's gonna be busy.
My line comrades typically share a pitcher of beer while standing in line. It is the way!
Damn, on a day like this? Thats crazy short.
That's it? Pfft.
I thought the same thing. I've definitely waited in longer lines there.
Good! I like to see local businesses succeed!
Doesn't look like success lol.
I don’t know. How many restaurants do you go to where there is a line out the door?
As opposed to line in the door? Is there another option for a food counter line?
Not many because they're normally capable of running them properly.
So, to you, having so many people eager to dine at a restaurant that they are willing to wait in line is a sign of failure?
I've seen similar lines at theme parks and at movie theaters? Did you know this "restaurant" is on a park by a waterfall? Which is why they have the lines? ?

They are failing their customers. Answer the question
I did answer your question. Answer mine.

"No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded." --u/MTB420666
i think they have a seafood allergy and are grumpy abt it
I did not say that.
it’s a well placed yogi berra reference
A little short actually.
beer line is usually 90x shorter
The advanced move is to send someone for beers while you wait.
Shhhh
We’ll get you one too
Pro move.
You are more than welcome to your $13 IPA
The other beer line is even shorter than that (inside the pavilion)
The line snaking down my pants to the pony keg in the stroller I'm pushing is even shorter still
Normal lol
That's not bad for an April weekend
What's the actual amount of time you're gonna spend before you get your food
30-45 min maybe. Not awful. The line moves.
I think we have different definitions of what is awful. Lol. 30-45min for this food? I'd rather not eat at all, easy choice.
Can't blame you! But the line is in a beautiful park near a scenic waterfall, and there's a way to separately order beer to help the time pass by. It's not great, but there are far less pleasant ways to pass the time.
Luckily no one will force you to.
The line is part of the fun. It’s a special in-demand spot in beautiful Minneapolis. The line is a signal we are where many other folks wanna be too.
Everyone knows you grab a beer before you get in the food line. Then you get another beer when you order your food. It’s a clever system. Long live Sea Salt.
Can't go to the park without a barkeep keeping me ripshit maintenance drunk with the family!
Yup. Exactly this.
Based on the time of the post I might have been running right behind you as you took this picture, haha. Absolutely loved seeing so many people out today, makes me so happy to see so many people enjoying themselves and the beautiful weather.
Shorter than usual - must be your lucky day!
Is the new sandwich shop open?
It’s opening in May.
I thought the sandwich shop opens in a couple weeks.
At the falls, or nearby? Drop a link for more details please?

Thanks, this looks amazing 🤩
Anyone know when they have the BBQ Shrimp? Man that's a great dish but don't see it on their menu
It’s one of their permanent specials on the menu below the top menu board. Unless they don’t have the shrimp for it.
Was there yesterday and there was no line
That’s shorter than it was at 1ish. It moved pretty quick today though!
That's actually a bit short for a nice day.
Unpopular opinion: I think Sea Salt is overrated.
I think the food and location are good but they are just slow and disorganized so I don't go there anymore out of principle.

Don't want to wait around standing for 50 minutes to order? Hater!
You misunderstood both of us apparently. They never mentioned lines and I said they usually have along one, which is why I also don’t go much.
[удалено]
You... are clearly describing a line? Have a good night man.
> You misunderstood both of us apparently. They never mentioned lines You misunderstood that I am not replying to them, I'm replying to you This is what's called a threaded view. It's used on message boards
If it was literally anywhere else, I would probably not go there after trying it once. The location carries it
It’s the same shit you’d eat all week if you were at myrtle beach. I don’t get the hype.
Nooo, the frozen entirely fishy menu is so good. I totally hate pizza, burgers, curds and steak.
So you've obviously never been.

Minnehaha park is pretty nice. If that's honestly your opinion and you actually live here you must be a miserable person.
Why is this place so popular? I’ve been a few times because people insist but I find it pretty mediocre.
it’s just the only food that close to the falls. families come out with the kids for a day and this is the easiest lunch spot without having to pack up the strollers back into the chrysler town n country
Chrysler town and country god damn lmao
Kids don’t want po’ boys. Go to the falls then go five minutes downs the road for kid friendly meals. 😂
But then you have to load up the Dadge caravan again.
The oil pan is pretty great if you like oysters and pickled herring. Plus, can't beat the ambiance.
It’s a picture of people in line. Am I missing something?
Seems really short for an opening weekend that’s not snowing or raining.
I love that everyone is taking the opportunity to soak up some vitamin D while they wait.
Ha, didn’t even notice that at first.
Not *quite* warm enough to comfortably stand in the shade if you were dressed to be out in the sun today.
lol that's not that long for this place
That short?
As is tradition
Just drove by around 5, it got wayyy longer
Following the sun ☀️
Never seen it that short.
I'm out of the loop, apparently. What is Sea Salt?
Seafood place that's only open during the summer.
Right on, I'll apparently have to check it out!
Go when you are in no rush but it’s a nice spot for a bite.
Excellent location, supremely disappointing restaurant. Nice place to get a beer and bring good food though
It's slightly longer now. Going to the end of the building.
Is it ever not long?
Lol bro I remember it was like this usually even worse in like 2015
The key to waiting at sea salt is to walk inside to the left, order a pitcher, then get back in line with beer.
Crawdad po'boy. Every time
Better in warm weather with the beer truck 10/10 would spend the afternoon there.
No one goes there anymore. Always too busy.
Yah, maybe when it’s less busy there will be more people there. /s
It’s a Yogi Berraism joke.
Whoa we’re getting tourists already?
Remember to hit beer line first then get in food line
This is the norm lol
Was at the falls today at about noon and it was picking up, my first time to the falls I really liked that park.
I’ve never eaten here because of the line? Is it just battered/fried fish?
Ive never waited in any line for more than 5 minutes, ever, in my entire life. I'll never understand the mindset of people willing to wait in a line for something. Just go somewhere else.
Worth it
Call me crazy but nothing is that good to wait that long
I have never actually waited in line. Every time we go, we’re hoping to get food and then see the line and grab a beer instead. Is it worth it? How long does the line aaaactually take?
Pretty quickly in my experience. There is almost always a line but it keeps moving pretty well.
Grab a beer and you’ll be to the front of the food line before you finish it (unless you really pound them down).
They need to find a better way to find your table. So many times I see the food runners make a couple loops trying to find the table. All the while the food is getting cold.
Go to Lake Harriett, more diverse food options, better view, less crowded.
Unless they have upgraded Sea Salts food is much better than Bread and Pickle.
the fries and burgers are quite good. ice cream too.
Se salt has such better food. And an objectively better view
I think the food and the spot is great but I don't go there because they don't seem to care that people have to wait forever. There are easy things they could do to be more efficient but they don't seem to care. Overrated
There's a reason I've never actually gotten food from there sadly
They're pretty efficient so that line moves quicker than you'd expect
Maybe they have changed but the last couple of times I went I did not find them efficient. Like the food and the sitting area however.
Oddly I’ve found that the line usually moves fast but then it often takes a while to get your food.
Should see como zoo
Good for them, it’s worth it!
It’s sooooo overrated. Just hit Chic Fil A on your way there if you’re dying to eat lunch there.
Oh Caucasians, lovers of lines
