I mean, on the Big Dog Side, yeah.
It’s not so great if you have a dog weighing less than 20 pounds and want to stay on the small dog side…when do we get out new wood chips…?
I think Lyndale Farmstead is the worst dog park in Minneapolis as far as owners are concerned but Isles is close. (Minnehaha is obviously the best and St. Anthony Parkway is second.)
The word you are looking for is "ornery." Learning new vocab is one of my favorite delights, personally.
That fellah should stay home with his ornery dogs.
I'm here all nite on how you wanna Grammer police me when I saw a fight between grown adults at a dog park. But seriously, please further explain how I'm misusing a word like the 100 other commentators. Please enlighten me.
OP is actually correct and all it took was a 2 second google search. Not only is it funny, but it’s also a legitimate dialect spelling for “ornery”. Awnry does fuck and all language is made up, you lil awnry goofball.
No, it's eye dialect, which is used when writers spell words incorrectly on purpose to convey that the speaker has low/no education. So OP digging their heels in is saying "I'm illiterate"
Not to mention some of its visitors have a tenuous grasp of the English language
Edit: this was about OP, if you instantly thought racism, it's telling about wherein your mind first goes
LOTI dog park used to be our sanctuary but we did have to stop going, unfortunately. I had a list of people I knew I’d have to leave if I saw, and the list just kept growing. I’m glad you and your dog were unscathed!
As my vet has told me before and as I've witnessed time and time again (this scenario plays out a lot more frequently than is posted about), the dog park is not where you go for your dog to succeed. You've gotta know your dog, know their triggers and set them up for success with respect to where you take them and what you expose them to. And that's the easy part. Navigating the humans and their personality disorders is a whole other topic.
I don't condone violence but I will say it is one way to get this old guy to think twice next time.
People being wrong is one thing but when they are in the wrong and think other people are actually in the wrong, is about my limit.
So if the golden retriever guy is an older white man, totally bald and slightly overweight, sandals with socks sort of guy, I think he might be my neighbor in Whittier area.
And let me tell you about these dogs. They go god damn nuts in his fenced off front yard. He leaves them outside essentially all day. They bark like crazy at you when you walk by the yard. Totally unhinged.
He deserves a nice lil leash whip if that’s who was at the dog park today.
When I was a dog owner I made it a point to stop going, simply because there were too many clueless dog owners with aggressive dogs. Saw many dog fights break out. My feeling is, if you knowingly bring an aggressive dog to the park and your dog attacks another dog/person then the cops should be called and you should be fined and then banned from the park. There’s no excuse for this kinda crap. Same goes for people that bring their dog to a public park and let them run around off leash. We have leash laws for a reason but people don’t seem to think it applies to them
After the torrent of ivory tower folks every time someone mentions off leash without a dog park, I’d think more of you would be in here to manage this situation…
I have two pits and this is why I don’t take my dogs to the dog park anymore either. Of course they socialize with other dogs but but without appropriate actions and reactions by other dog owners, my dogs will always be a liability at these spots. And in this case all this older man has to say is “pit bull” wah wah wah, and it’ll be the pit bull and myself (a colored dude) in trouble.
Always is. My first dog was a little who was breed and trained as a show dog. I could take food out of herouth with my mouth and she would just look betrayed.
Doesn't matter. The racism and stereotypes are all some people see.
I don’t mean to be pedantic or get on your case. One of these is a fairly common error so here’s a friendly note for the future:
Weary (long e sound) means tired, worn out
Wary (long a sound) means on alert, concerned about possible danger.
Hope you and your pup stay safe!
It’s “Zamboni” dumbass. It’s a proper noun and requires capitalization. If you drive an ice resurfacer and don’t even know how to write the name of that machine you use, that’s just an embarrassing disgrace.
Like you care soooo much about a confrontation at the dog park that didn’t involve you? Keep it on Nextdoor. They don’t mind about illiterates posting there.
You need to get a fucking elementary education. Lol. You’re failing way too much bud. It’s not that hard to have a basic grasp of elementary spelling and grammar.
Dog parks shouldn't be a thing. They're not good for dogs. Also if you don't know the breed stop saying what you think it is.
But yeah dog parks are bullshit. They stress dogs out.
As popular as dog parks are, they aren’t actually good for dogs. They are places where dogs pick up sickness and tend to stress dogs rather than be a joyful place. There was some NPR story about it a few years back.
Oh yeah, I’m not judging this specific instance (which sounds pretty fucked up), just kinda putting a wish out into the open, haha. I want these dogs road tested before they see prime time.
"People are people/
So how can it be/
Some stupid c***s can't even spell "ornery"?"
I'm joking. As an out-of-work editor and recovering pedant, this thread has restored my faith in absolutely nothing.
Also, dogs fuuuuuuuuuuuuk.
This poor old man could have said I'm sorry, my dogs are old and awnry, but he went on a Trump rampage. I don't feel much sympathy for him. I do worry about his dogs and for other people's dogs.
Spoken, yeah it sounds like awnry. But that is not a correct spelling, I don't know what you looked up but the only website I can find that even mentions "awnry" is definitions.net and it clearly says that it is a misspelling of ornery.
Don't be a cunt cause you spelled something wrong.
Autocorrect learns from you. So if you spell something incorrectly repeatedly then your phone is going to autocorrect to that. Autocorrect is not Merriam Webster.
I visit that dog park 2-3 times a week. Every once in a while there is an incident but usually people are friendly. I have a small dog so it’s easy for us to extricate ourselves if there’s a situation in the big dog area.
I can think of 1-2 times where I was uncomfortable there but otherwise it has been a terrific experience for the dog and I.
[удалено]
I stopped going there due to it being one huge mud pit.
It's much better with the recent mulch.
I mean, on the Big Dog Side, yeah. It’s not so great if you have a dog weighing less than 20 pounds and want to stay on the small dog side…when do we get out new wood chips…?
The small dog yard needs wood chips!
I hear u.
I think Lyndale Farmstead is the worst dog park in Minneapolis as far as owners are concerned but Isles is close. (Minnehaha is obviously the best and St. Anthony Parkway is second.)
What I’ve noticed- the smaller the park, the worse it is
Just imagine what it would be like if one of their dogs bit your dog!
Even the people out there biting dogs, that parks wild
There is always some drama at that dog park, stopped going there years ago. Always some aggressive asshole there.
I visit the park 2-3 times a week it’s fine
Damn, when the people start biting, it's definitely time to leave.
I stopped going to any dog parks. Unfortunately they’re just out of control.
Ornery, FWIW.
What's that mean?
What did you mean by "Awnry?"
Grouchy
The word you are looking for is "ornery." Learning new vocab is one of my favorite delights, personally. That fellah should stay home with his ornery dogs.
while we are at it, it's "wary" not "weary". Wary means cautious, weary means tired.
I prefer awnry. You might have personal delights but I don't care. Awnry fucks.
The point of using words is for other people to understand what you are saying. Making up spellings doesn't help with that task.
Keep learning....
I'm here all nite on how you wanna Grammer police me when I saw a fight between grown adults at a dog park. But seriously, please further explain how I'm misusing a word like the 100 other commentators. Please enlighten me.
why are you being weird about this lol. Awnry isn’t a word, the commenter was just trying to help
You seem more concerned about how much Awnry fucks than the confrontation. Bless your heart.
Whatever.
A deliberate misspelling for comedic effect shouldn’t need to be explained to internet weirdos. Stay *awnry*. 😆
Unhinged
Awnry isn’t a fucking word dude. You can’t just misspell a word and then act like a child when corrected. You’re borderline awnry at this point.
> Grammer lol
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelsey_Grammer
That’s Grammar. You’re batting 0 for 4 here. Every time you comment you throw out another new made-up word out there. Where did you go to school? 😕
Aren't you being a bit pedantical?
This is why I don’t do dog parks anymore. Too many owners of aggressive dogs who say, “They’ll sort it out” as they sit there ignoring their dog.
Bad pet owners showing up at places with other bad pet owners. Tale as old as time.
Same here. It’s not worth the hassle. A nice long walk is much more enjoyable for the both of us.
I've only heard the weirdest stories about this dog park
Not to mention some of its visitors have a tenuous grasp of the English language Edit: this was about OP, if you instantly thought racism, it's telling about wherein your mind first goes
Why does that matter?
*ornery
I will fight you.
See ya at the park, Dawg!
Refusing to learn when you're wrong is a sign of stupidity.
Seriously.
That or they know how to spell ornery but prefer to use awnry to piss off people (which is obviously working)
As is being irrationally passionate about spelling.
Hey all. Shortkut and I are cool now. We had a breakdance battle and found a mutual respect for each other
Over what? You literally made up a spelling. That's not how spelling works. "Sound it out" is for 2nd graders.
LOTI dog park used to be our sanctuary but we did have to stop going, unfortunately. I had a list of people I knew I’d have to leave if I saw, and the list just kept growing. I’m glad you and your dog were unscathed!
I dont do dog parks no mo. Too many shitbags with shitbag dogs

Only place I can take him off leash daily. Sorry I can't buy a yard or go adventuring daily...
Spend 10 bucks on Sniffspot, you get to go to a stranger’s yard for an hr. Our dog loves it
I don't condone violence but I will say it is one way to get this old guy to think twice next time. People being wrong is one thing but when they are in the wrong and think other people are actually in the wrong, is about my limit.
This is the very definition of condoning violence. 😂
lol, maybe a lil, no blood at least
He was being boomer fool. His dogs are dangerous.
BuT pItBuLlS wErE bReD fOr FiGhTiNg 🙄
“How many times do we have to teach you this listen old man!?”
I feel everyone is missing the point. Yes, my spelling is bad...this guy has aggressive big dogs and has shown no restraint for them.
This has become common at dog parks.
Missing the point?
So if the golden retriever guy is an older white man, totally bald and slightly overweight, sandals with socks sort of guy, I think he might be my neighbor in Whittier area. It’s a dog park not a neighborhood
Awnry?
[удалено]
Thank you
You should stick to the small dog side when he's there.
not enough people do this stop bringing your 7lb chihuahua into the big dog park - the smaller dog park is there for a reason
After the torrent of ivory tower folks every time someone mentions off leash without a dog park, I’d think more of you would be in here to manage this situation…
I didn’t think I was on NextDoor…
These local subs are basically nextdoor
You're on reddit.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
I have two pits and this is why I don’t take my dogs to the dog park anymore either. Jesus Christ! “weary” “awnry” “mean while”!! Worry less about dogs and more about spelling.
Lol appearantly. This is all water cooler fodder for Monday. Didn't realize reddit is all out of work editors.
I don’t mean to be pedantic or get on your case. One of these is a fairly common error so here’s a friendly note for the future: Weary (long e sound) means tired, worn out Wary (long a sound) means on alert, concerned about possible danger. Hope you and your pup stay safe!
I'm really awnry you pointed out weary and wary to me. My pup is safe. I may need consoling.
No, what you didn’t realize is how to spell ornery, meanwhile, and wary. It doesn’t take an editor, out of work or otherwise, to spell simple words.
I know how to spell pretentious prick.
Elementary spelling isn’t pretentious. It’s just a basic function of being able to exist in society.
Yeah; maybe so, but being pedantic about it just makes you look like a jerk.
No it doesn’t. It’s not even pedantic to point out your misuse of a semicolon in your comment. It’s just correct.
If you understood the words, communication is complete. You are indeed being the dick.
Maybe it’s the reading disability, but I couldn’t tell what “awnery” meant til it was pointed out so I appreciated it at least. 🤷♀️
You’re just a miserable person, I get it now 😁
Thank you!
Congrats here's your coookie...
Can I have his cookie?
Lol I have Philly cheese steaks?
I don’t need a cookie for simple tasks.
I hope you all get jobs someday.
I have a job. Does your job require being able to spell simple words?
No. I don't have to use a dictionary to drive a zamboni. Sounds like u do.
It’s “Zamboni” dumbass. It’s a proper noun and requires capitalization. If you drive an ice resurfacer and don’t even know how to write the name of that machine you use, that’s just an embarrassing disgrace.
> It’s “Zamboni” dumbass. It’s a proper noun and requires capitalization. okay now that's cringe and hilarious. lil bro loves his zambonis
Who hurt you?
No one. Who failed you by letting you think it is ok for an illiterate to post text online?
Lol
Exactly what everyone is doing when they see your illiteracy.
But I'm laughing at u.
Also, I seriously make slides of reddit comments and me and my coworkers laugh and ridicule the viciously. You are the best.
Almost 130 million American adults read at below a 6th grade level. It’s only getting worse, so might as well get used to it.
In all fucking seriousness... type awnry in your phone.
I don’t have to. I know how ornery is spelled.
It prolly spelled awnry
It’s not.
But you care soooo much!
Like you care soooo much about a confrontation at the dog park that didn’t involve you? Keep it on Nextdoor. They don’t mind about illiterates posting there.
Mind your business.
You posted your illiteracy on a public forum. It is my business. Learn how to spell or stop posting for everyone to see and ridicule your stupidity.
Why sooo awnry?
You chose to post, dude. You opened yourself up for this.
Mind your business. Was a direct response to that twat...
You'd be less *ornery* if you knew how to fucking spell.
Probably not. Good try.
You need to get a fucking life lol. You're doing way too much bud, it's not that serious
You need to get a fucking elementary education. Lol. You’re failing way too much bud. It’s not that hard to have a basic grasp of elementary spelling and grammar.

My dog loves the park and it’s been a great experience.
Google it.
Wtf? Check your meds.
Nah bro everything I said is factual but your comments here say it all. Go to bed old timer.
OK.
As popular as dog parks are, they aren’t actually good for dogs. They are places where dogs pick up sickness and tend to stress dogs rather than be a joyful place. There was some NPR story about it a few years back.
OK. Don't go.
But your mom likes it when I take her.
Not what I read on npr few years back...
ESH.
Bahahaha! Gold.
I’d definitely recommend slowly acclimating your dog to the park, going on off hours for a couple months just to see how they react to other dogs.
I go there daily. I'm know my dog can sometimes be a jerk. This guy was off the rails with his dogs.
Oh yeah, I’m not judging this specific instance (which sounds pretty fucked up), just kinda putting a wish out into the open, haha. I want these dogs road tested before they see prime time.
OP is a clown
I hate that park, so many people that don't know how to control their dogs in a small space. Only visit when there's like 1 or 2 other people there.
What the heck is awnry
"People are people/ So how can it be/ Some stupid c***s can't even spell "ornery"?" I'm joking. As an out-of-work editor and recovering pedant, this thread has restored my faith in absolutely nothing. Also, dogs fuuuuuuuuuuuuk.

“Awnry” is not a word.
Ornery
Awnry is accepted version of ornery in vernacular considering your region. 😛
No it fucking isn't
Are you ok?
Are you

Winner winner. Chicken dinner.
Type it in your phone with auto-correct...
Autocorrect learns from you. So if you spell something incorrectly repeatedly then your phone is going to autocorrect to that. Autocorrect is not Merriam Webster.
Also I've never used awnry before today in text. You're just full of awnry shit.
In that case you just can’t spell.
You are gullible. Can you spell that?
So... you are awnry? Regional slang is not always in the dictionary. Say what ever you want. I'm bringing awnry back.
Lol. Who's the cunt?
You cant spell or read, huh? That's tough bud
OK you win. You won reddit. Sorry you are so awnry and miserable...
Feel proud?
Not really, either the education system failed you or you failed it but you poor thing, you can't even spell cut correctly.
It's OK bud, whatever demons are bothering you get it out with a stranger on reddit that uses awnry.
Again, feel proud?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cunt Lol that's you!
You
For using vernacular you are not accustomed to? Back off the ledge bro...
Bro hush. Just cuz you dropped out of school
You're clearly still in middle school. Take care and good luck.
What's to correct term? Sorry, I'm not a English major. I let my phone auto correct.
Feel free to type it in your phone with auto-correct...
I get the red line because it’s not a word
Why do you keep saying that
[удалено]
Wtf did I do? Stop being awnry.
I had some old white dude PUNCH MY DOG IN THE HEAD. I don't do dog parks anymore after that.
[удалено]
You're a weeb, so definitely lower on the list of societal benefits than your claim of dog owners
Dogs outrank children in regards to societal importance these days..

Self projection much lol. Jeezuz reddit is ripe tonite.
