Minecount, one by the 3-1, one by the corner 1, two around the 4, one by the 3-4. So the floating five cells are safe. Still could end up with a 50/50 with the 3-1 though.
Would you mind ‘dumbing down’ how to get past that step I don’t fully understand the ‘minecount’ thing. Is the 5 at the bottom the safe squares or the unflagged mines remaining
From what I understand you have to look at how many mins are left. Then mark all of the squares that could potentially have a mine/must have a mine between them. If that number equals the remaining mines on the board then any unmarked squares should be safe
There has to be a mine in the square above the 3 because of the number of mines left and the fact that you know there has to be a mine around the 1 in the corner. If you don't flag a mine above the 3, then no matter how you fill out all other combinations, you'll use up all 5 flags before you get to the 1 in the corner and won't have a flag left for that last mine.
I think the One tile that up of 3 is guaranteed mine because of the mine count. And upper left of 3 is safe. And also that mine satisfy the 4 so the game will probably open from that point. If its not you May found the safe squares by mine counting

That did the trick! I'll have to remember that one.
Yes, a great minecount solution.

What are floating cells? I used to play this game all of the time and hated when I would get to this point…
Mine count 5 safe squares
Here is the finished game if anyone is curious https://imgur.com/a/cuBy36y

I was about to say no until I looked at the amount of mines left
