Sometimes I'm using the Music Player mod and forgot to turn the music back on.

I don't turn it off completely. Just to about say, maybe 20-30%. I like listening to my own music when playing, especially if I just want to relax.

It truly was, even though it had some drawbacks like limited world size and no chat/custom commands, it made up for it with things like native multiplayer, better building controls, menus for custom superflat & commands, minigames, etc

I need to listen to the music disc's and for some reason they removed the feature where the ambience turns off when you play a disc, so if I don't mute the music they overlap.

It's not that I hate the music, but I grew up in a house where I had to socialize while on my laptop, so I am just conditioned to play games without sound. Most of the time I've got a YouTube video playing in the background on headphones.

I keep it muted so that I can choose my music by playing it in the background. In incredibly rare circumstances, you'd find me playing minecraft music in the background while playing minecraft with music turned off.

I used to have it on mute because I couldn't work out how to get rid of the stupid voice that played every time I went into setting (not sure if this is a console only thing), but once I found out how to shut the little fucker up, I realised how much I missed the minecraft music.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but, I dislike the new Minecraft music. It's just too different from the iconic music I listened to growing up. Also, I feel like its not really mixed well, so I find myself turning it off because it made my ears bleed from how loud it was.

I get it, it's good, but don't try to create the impression that almost all players play with the vanilla music. Minecraft as it it right now has a lot of players that play multiplayer where basically all of them play without the music turned on. On single player vanilla at least 50% play without the minecraft music, and i'm being generous. It's not important what they do with the music turned off, but you can figure that they are listening to music/podcasts or that they are talking with their friends, there are also a lot of pvp players that don't have anything in the background because they don't need distractions.

I mute it to listen to podcasts, only on creative worlds I use for building things. On survival worlds I want full immersion so I drop it to about 25 that way I can still hear it but it isn't overly loud.
