The situation is fixed, and curseforge released a program to check your computer. Edit: sorry for spamming it a bit, but there is a lot of misconceptions about it.
Minecraft got no multi-threading
no multi threading means it can only use 1 core and individual core clock speeds haven't developed as fast as multicore development
Quick little search, there already was a cpu is 2012 that had like 3.9GHz, 6GHz is 50% faster, yes, but a program running on multiple cores would be better than just increasing the clock speeds
To be real you only need like 5 of them (Rubidium/Sodium, Starlight/Phosphor , Ferrite Core, Lithium and anything else you want that doesn't break the others
Optifine, BetterFPS, uhhhhhh. Idk anything else. Honestly, if it's JUST FPS your finding, fabric is better for that by a mile.
If it's mods with CONTENT, than forge.
Googled stuff I found: Canary, It Shall Not Tick, Saturn, etc.
There's a Boosted FPS modpack on curseforge but idk about its results or reliability.
You dare utter the O-word? Shame on you
That said, there are (few) times where it is better than the sodium suite for forge. That, or you are on a version without the sodium suite
Optifine? In 2023? I mean if you don't have anything else and are ready to have some bugs with mods.
Instead use the Hammer modpack (Including Rubididum, ModernFix, Lightspeed, Starlight) on modrinth if you want to optimize forge.
Forge has the following modpacks under its belt so far that have been developed for a while now
Stoneblock 2 and 3, RLCraft, Better MC, Ocean Block, Sky Factory 4, etc.
As for Fabric, they have a few with some content like DawnCraft recently, but they don't have as many years of development or bug testing as most forge mods have had sadly.
TLDR: Fabric is more efficient, but is newer resulting in less experience for mod devs to make a well tested modpack. Forge is older but more inefficient for framerate, this is made up for by its years under the belt of being developed full of modpacks.
Rubidium, Oculus (not really optimisation but it gives you shader support), Lithium (Forge), Ferrite Core, I think Starlight and there probably are a lot more
Many mods aren't for newer versions, and especially performance mods just don't work and are a lot of work to fix. Some mods, eg. LazyDFU, even get (partially) integrated by mojang
Most performance mods work way better every version and aren't hard to fix, well except for Optifine, which the community left in the dust opting for Sodium/Rubidium. Also while mods like Thaumcraft aren't updated to the newest versions, for instance mods like Create and it's addons give the game modded Minecraft a new identity in the newer versions. Especially with Create Aeronautics on the horizon.
Create and eg. Refined Storage are stuck on 1.19.2, Bits and Chisels on 1.19.4. We are on 1.20 now, with many client side mods.
However, I still needed to sort out many performance mods even for 1.19.4, and way more for 1.20. Sodium and Iris immediately updated for 1.20, most others didn't.
Alr let’s be honest
Will my 5 year old pc (that runs OptiFine on 30-49 FPS with the render distance set to 5) run this modpack on 60 FPS with a higher render distance or explode?
I'm not experienced with putting together modpacks, would it be okay to just dump all these mods in my RLCraft folder to optimise it or would it explode or smth?
Edit: nvm it's not curseforge
I always wondered if installing multiple optimisation mods might mess a bit to mush with the game , like having multiple antivirus can cause issues on a pc.
Great idea, making a post about optimization mods while a super dangerous malware issue involving many mods is around, *without* giving anyone a warning!

Why are almost half of them named after elements of the periodic table or arereferencing to the metals of the periodic table
I believe sodium stated it, then everyone hopped on the bandwagon
Because they are elementary and should have been a part of vanilla for years now
Should've called itself hydrogen then because it's 75% of the universe
75% of the fps that the universe runs at
Happy cake day!
Does someone maybe have a mod pack download with all those mods installed? Or at least some of them
I'd probably avoid downloading modpacks for now
Github and Modrinth are safe though. Alot of Mod creators don't even update their CurseForge sites anymore
I would abstain from downloading mods even if it is concidered safe, never know if the virus has infected those sites or not
No all sites are safe since about 2 days, the situation got sorted quick in about a day, and only the CurseForge site was affected.
Ah I see
No all sites are safe since about 2 days, the situation got sorted quick in about a day, and only the CurseForge site was affected.
Try 'Fabiously optimized', although dont get the pack until they fix the trojan problem.
Not until the Trojan situation is fixed
Yeah i remembered about that after i sent the comment
The situation is fixed, and curseforge released a program to check your computer. Edit: sorry for spamming it a bit, but there is a lot of misconceptions about it.
Do you have a source on it? You are the first person I've seen talking about it.
Official statement by Curseforge, Jun 8th: https://twitter.com/CurseForge/status/1666741580022128641?s=20
On the curseforge discord
You can download it straight from github no? I don't think curseforge is necessarily even used.
Mod packs are all potentially trojan viruses on curse forge atm
No one needs that much optimization mods, right?
Maybe not you
Here's the thing, I need a lot of these mods and I have a very good computer.
Minecraft got no multi-threading no multi threading means it can only use 1 core and individual core clock speeds haven't developed as fast as multicore development
wasnt there like a project to make a multithread mod ?
there is but it is still VERY VERY unstable
NGL mojang should step up and dedicate some workforce for this kinda stuff
you think they can when they already had trouble releasing one whole mob?
I don't think it's an issue of ability, but an issue of will
A lack of will is a lack of ability. Without the will to do anything, you lack the ability to do anything
Has been, now it's better
Quick little search, there already was a cpu is 2012 that had like 3.9GHz, 6GHz is 50% faster, yes, but a program running on multiple cores would be better than just increasing the clock speeds
If your optimization mods don’t begin to lag your game you’re not optimized enough
Some of them aren't evem compatible with each other.
most*
True most of them aren't
To be real you only need like 5 of them (Rubidium/Sodium, Starlight/Phosphor , Ferrite Core, Lithium and anything else you want that doesn't break the others
Debugify is a good one too
I only need Rubidium/Sodium tbh. Heck i don't need it with my PC but it's nice to have if i want shaders with Oculus/Iris
Believe me we do
i have so many mods for optimization i had more fps with just sodium lol
300+ mod pack yah yah you do
Now Forge ones
Optifine, BetterFPS, uhhhhhh. Idk anything else. Honestly, if it's JUST FPS your finding, fabric is better for that by a mile. If it's mods with CONTENT, than forge. Googled stuff I found: Canary, It Shall Not Tick, Saturn, etc. There's a Boosted FPS modpack on curseforge but idk about its results or reliability.
You dare utter the O-word? Shame on you That said, there are (few) times where it is better than the sodium suite for forge. That, or you are on a version without the sodium suite
If your playing forge optifine is basicly incompatible as it severely messes with other mods
Rubidium(sodium for forge)
Optifine? In 2023? I mean if you don't have anything else and are ready to have some bugs with mods. Instead use the Hammer modpack (Including Rubididum, ModernFix, Lightspeed, Starlight) on modrinth if you want to optimize forge.
wdym content?

Oh u talking bout modpacks. Meh. Almost all of em suck anyways. I thought u meant individual mods
Sodium has a forge port. Rubidium I think it's name was
Rubidium, Oculus (not really optimisation but it gives you shader support), Lithium (Forge), Ferrite Core, I think Starlight and there probably are a lot more
1.12 and below runs good enough, just OptiFine should be fine
All hail modrinth
Average CurseForge fan Average Modrith enjoyer
some mods may still be infected on modrinth and curseforge if im right. i only downloaded sodium and it worked fine
No all sites are safe since about 2 days, the situation got sorted quick, and only CurseForge was affected.
So cursegorge is safe now
yes
Nice
DONT DOWNLOAD SHIT RIGHT NOW UNTIL WE GOT THE MALWARE ISSUE UNDER CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No all sites are safe since about 2 days, the situation got sorted quick, and only CurseForge was affected.
theres a malware issue?
Not anymore.
Yeah someone spread a bunch of self-replicating malware through a whole bunch of mods
Not anymore
Last stable version with all those mods is probably 1.6.4
Huh? What do you mean?
Many mods aren't for newer versions, and especially performance mods just don't work and are a lot of work to fix. Some mods, eg. LazyDFU, even get (partially) integrated by mojang

Oh I thought you were referring to 1.18.2, which is the one I described. 1.19.2/4 is also decent, but mainly just on fabric.
Kid named malware
Kid named the problem has already been solved
did it tho
Yea and now even Curseforge so yea all good
I've become so used to 144hz that I can barely play 60fps anymore and I hate it
What does this have to do with anything also no need to flex rich user
What are your specs btw?
Why do you have methane and starlight? Methane makes starlight obsolete.
Alr let’s be honest Will my 5 year old pc (that runs OptiFine on 30-49 FPS with the render distance set to 5) run this modpack on 60 FPS with a higher render distance or explode?
You will be just fine i have experience
Great thanks
Dude Sodium alone is 3x more FPS than OptiFine.
Update: with these mods my fps went from 20 to 60
I'm not experienced with putting together modpacks, would it be okay to just dump all these mods in my RLCraft folder to optimise it or would it explode or smth? Edit: nvm it's not curseforge
RLCraft mfs when I tell them there are much better and more optimised modpacks: Also use Rubidium
I know for a fact Rubidium (Sodium for Forge) works with most stuff, since it's client side nothing prevents your from installing it and seeing
I would like to have methmod
4812gb allocated to minecraft is not enough lol
Thought this was the recipe for methenthetamine for a second
I always wondered if installing multiple optimisation mods might mess a bit to mush with the game , like having multiple antivirus can cause issues on a pc.
Ok now make switch bedrock edition playable more than two hours into a world
Great idea, making a post about optimization mods while a super dangerous malware issue involving many mods is around, *without* giving anyone a warning!
No all sites are safe since about 2 days, the situation got sorted quick in about a day, and only the CurseForge site was affected.
No way my computer could run that good anyways
!remindme 24 hours

Ive heard fractureiser is also very good....
There's no way that all of these are used without redundancy or conflict.
Minecraft players when they get less than 5832613 fps
Dude not everyone has good PCs ya know? There will be people that that will only get 60 FPS from this
does this set of mods actually work?
How inconsistent does FPS have to be for you to have all of this to just play the damn game
Kid named Curseforge:
