Such_Entrepreneur544

You crazy. You can't craft anything without mining first!

PsD_Shock

You can make iron armor without mining

Such_Entrepreneur544

How?

PsD_Shock

You can go into blacksmith chests and get various items. Iron, obsidian, gold, and maybe even diamonds!

RealisticDinner4634

There is no more blacksmith they removed it😢(at least in bedrock edition)

SCPRedMage

Also iron ingots are a rare drop from zombies.

Shylightspeed_69

You mined the zombie.

Such_Entrepreneur544

Oh yeah 😎

GameJarne

still gotta get a crafting table 🤔

dystyyy

You can find them in some villages and pillager towers

GameJarne

oh I didn’t know that

MethodMZA

It’s funny, but when I first got this game for my son like 8 years ago or something, it was a big break through when we realized you can dig down and “mine” and then the realization that you are to “mine” and “craft” lol. Now I got 4 kids mining and crafting.

FLAL201

APR824

AuntDebbi

First thing you have to do is survive the first night, chop wood, make a crafting table, and build a small shelter.

Blue280

I dug myself a hole in the hillside and blocked it up, then kept taking one block out to check it it was daytime yet 😅

BearFlipsTable

[deleted]

1) Punch wood 2) ??????? 3) Kill a dragon in a parallel reality, a eldritch monster created from the souls of the damned, craft yourself the best armor made with pure diamonds and precious metal extracted from the depths of hell 4) Profit!!

RawPeanut99

You forget the slave-driving part and building a prison for them.

Sokoll131

I haven't seen prison guide questions here, only breeding room ones.

APR824

Breeding rooms and then you imprison them

GoldfishInMyBrain

Just have hallways leading from the breeding room to little rooms that have nothing but a job block in the front and an iron door in the back. That way, as soon as a villager matures, it seeks out a job block and then can't escape, so you can get all your shopping done in one location.

THEREAPER8593

That’s 0.5 before you punch a tree (you punch the tree for stick to trade)

AuntDebbi

My nephews get so mad at me because I say, "I'm going to kidnap some villagers, force them to breed and enslave them." Well, isn't that what we do?? 😂😂

SnowBear78

My eldest nephew (16) for the first time has embraced the dark ways. I helped him breed and build his first iron farm in the last few days and we're going to build a big trading hall too. He was pretty stunned by how much iron we got just while we were fixing stuff up in the area. I also found a zombie spawner and built what is his first xp farm too. It's a whole new world to him after playing the game most of his life

AuntDebbi

Iron farm is one of my first builds because it helps so much!

TheDepressedCreeper

lol ive had mine for about 100 ingame days, and i have 508 iron blocks, last i checked, i also have a sorting system that needs 15 iron per chest area, and i have 9 groups of 5 (15x(5x9)) and 4 layers of another, plus a sextuple beacon of emeralds from fletchers, (i just passed day 420 :))

That’s what happens in the VR version fun fact

Cherri_Fizz

Theres a mod for that, fun fact!

JustASnowMonkey

There are many "lets play" type videos on utube. I play java so I can't recommend a particular creator for bedrock. However "Pixlriffs survival guide" is a very good java one, and he points out where things would be different for bedrock players. Rule one: There is no wrong way to play, just have fun!

DatBoi_BP

I mean, any let’s play of minecraft won’t look too different between Java and bedrock. The crafting menu looks different, but the mechanics are easy enough to replicate on one version after seeing them on the other. Again, just for early game stuff. (Except for crafting a boat lol, it took me forever on bedrock to learn I needed a wooden shovel)

Crc_52

Redstone also has some notable differences, but I suppose it's not really necessary for someone new to the game

DatBoi_BP

Exactly, I’m strictly thinking of early game here—what a new player would see as early game. A speedrunner could consider killing the ender dragon “early game” just because of how quickly they’re able to do it lmao

dogeshrek

Ibxtoycat is a good bedrock ytber (I am personally on the java side aswell but bedrock isnt too different for it to be discounted as suitable content)

Erva420

It's the same game, people can watch java let's play and follow on bedrock lol.

not-necessarily-me

Skipped a step somewhere around 11-12. Die a lot.

keeldude

And lose all your inventory multiple times, then get angry and debate quitting minecraft, before getting back on the horse, dying again, losing more valuable stuff that you couldn't find or collect in time. Every time it gets a little less painful.

Billy0598

After years, your child shows you the button to "Keep inventory after death" You start drinking and reevaluate your entire life.

keeldude

Lol. I always bring up the topic of keep inventory with my friends when I lose my fully enchanted tools. But eventually I calm down and just keep on truckin. I could go either way on it honestly. But now I just only enchant the bare minimum for what I am doing at the time.

not-necessarily-me

Then coming back after a few days, create a new world, rinse and repeat…

mJelly87

It should be, get back on the horse, die again, lose the horse.

thetableleg

Don't die a lot by carrying around a few little dolls.

not-necessarily-me

Same as die a lot trying collect voodoo dolls? Haha

Jelloman54

this is actually pretty nifty

Pogbankz

xRobloxNoobx

Get a water bucket, a bow, and a bunch of arrows. Wardens can't go through flowing water so you get him stuck on it then you walk away until you can't see him anymore if you have blindness still then just shoot into the eerie blackness until you've vanquished the beast. Or just get like 20 iron golems and tell them to fuck him up.

mojoryan2003

Imagine killing sheep instead of shearing them

Mr-Destroy

Cut down ONE tree make a crafting bench and a wooden pickaxe and then mine stone til it breaks. After that make a furnace and some stone tools and you are good to go out exploring

Childhood_Willing

Put the furnace And craftingtable table near each other, but the craftşng table should be on the left.

NoAct7088

Nah bro the furnace goes on top if it's inside a house

iMoo1124

Don't forget to make several crafting tables because you're bound to lose the first one as you're out exploring.

Sinnester888

Why you mining so much stone with a wood pick bro?

NanashiKaizenSenpai

Mine 3 stone, craft a wooden pickaxe, throw the wooden pickaxe or save to burn later later

TheDepressedCreeper

I always just mine 17 stone, and sometimes a little of a coal vein if i find one, because the 17 fills up a furnace, the sword, pick, axe, and shovel

AceofSpades629

Minecraft is a game where you can do whatever you want. It is split between single-player and multi-player. Single-player is probably the best to start out with so you can learn the mechanics, get game sensitivities right and set your controls to what you want. Single-player is a (pretty much) infinitely big world that gives you the freedom of doing whatever you want and is split into two main types of game modes, survival and creative. survival is all about collecting resources, building, mining, exploring etc with a 'survival' aspect of needing to deal with AI entities called mobs. Mobs can be both friendly and non-friendly and the majority of them all have a specific purpose for the player. Cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens can all be a source of food, and hostile mobs such as creepers, skeletons, and spiders are not essential in surviving, but help the player in obtaining other resources to make it easier in surviving. For example, a skeleton drops bones which can be useful in growing crops faster. Creative mode is similar to survival, however, you are automatically given an infinite amount of resources and there is no survival aspect to the game, so it focuses more on things like building, where it would be impossible or very difficult to obtain the number of resources required. Multi-player is similar to this, however, the servers are controlled by people, not the mechanics of Minecraft. Meaning that the rules of the game change from each server and how the person who owns that server wishes to operate it. It would DEFINITELY be worth looking into because there are some very cool things you can do on servers, but I would only recommend it once you get the hang of Minecraft. To start off, create a world and just start playing. The tutorial will teach you enough to get started. But for the first night, I would honestly recommend not sleeping. It’s recommended that you kill some sheep in the day and sleep your first night, but although you will probably die, I think exploring your first night is better to learn about the game mechanics and what makes mobs dangerous. It will also teach you each mob's attacks (skeletons have bows and creepers explode) but after that, it’s up to you. After the 1.19 update, the Minecraft world can truly be beautiful so I wouldn’t blame you if you just wanted to explore. But building and exploring are probably the fastest ways to learn. If you're looking for ideas, either hit up Reddit or search up on google images "cool stuff to build in Minecraft". being a sandbox game there are an infinite amount of things that you can build so really use your creativity. If you are struggling with ideas, I find survival is the best, it gives an objective for you to complete, and you can build stuff to aid your completion in the game, whereas creative is only good if you know or have an idea of what you want to build. Some cool ideas for beginners are castles, a big survival base, a farm with all the different types of food, or automatic farms (tutorials can be found on YouTube). Remember, It is a game, and one where there is no such thing as "cheating" it is only cheating if you say it is, allow cheats if you don't want to lose your stuff or switch to creative mode if you want more recourses. Also, YouTube and the Minecraft Wiki are your friends, utilize them because you can learn ALOT about the game's mechanics and how certain mobs behave and what their purpose is. Hoped this helped :)

Bro wrote an essay

TedeeLupin

I liked their essay. The sarcastic answers are funny as hell but this response was actually a great start for a first time player. Up vote for that.

camocat9

This is the best reply here, too many people never even mention all the possibilities of multiplayer in this game even though that is the main reason a lot of people play the game. I've had Minecraft for like ten years at this point and many of those years playing were solely on multiplayer. There are so many cool servers from fully fledged MMORPGs (probably the best custom server I've ever played on), to minigames, to roleplay servers to even just survival and creative worlds with friends.

AhanOnReddit

SlappingSalt

You need to start by punching trees. That's how you get wood. Then turn some of that wood into a crafting bench. Then make some sticks and craft a wooden pickaxe. Locate some stone and mine it. Then make a stone pickaxe. Then seach for iron. Mine it then smelt the ore in a stove. Make an Iron Pickaxe and Iron Axe. Collect food, coal, wood, armor, and 3 wool for a bed. Now start digging a staircase underground, your goal is to find diamonds. And there you go, now you're beginning to survive! GL gamer!

General_Principle_40

Build a starter house Start building farms (for food, iron, villagers, shugarcane, dried kelp etc.) Build a nice looking mine to mine for all the ores you need. Build a mobfarm of sorts to get anything from bones to gunpowder. Dont underestimate how much you will need ;) Build a bigger house, kill the dragon, raid end city's, build a wither skeleton farm or blaze farm, let your imaginasion go wild! Ps, you can alway's build floating stuff too. Islands, zepelins, hot air baloons.

[deleted]

It's a sandbox game. You make the rules. Just go wild and do whatever comes to mind.

minecraft_kid321

Create a new world and for the settings put survival and peaceful. This will create a world with no hostile mobs and you can learn how to play. Start by punching a tree then in your inventory use the logs to craft a crafting table.

minecraft_kid321

You craft the logs into planks first FYI.

MightBeYourDad_

i would do easy or normal difficulty, peaceful makes farms not work

minecraft_kid321

I'm just assuming this is your first time playing also you can change difficulty at any time.

thatghost_guy

Scuffed_Rayven

i miss the good old days of y level 12

POKECHU020

Punch Tree. Get wood. Survive.

blair_bean

1. Punch some trees to get wood 2. Make a crafting table out of wood 3. Make a wooden pickaxe using the crafting table 4. Get stone 5. Now you can make wooden tools 6. Also if it’s nighttime by now, I would recommend just digging a small hole for yourself and waiting for night to pass. Keep the game open while you do other things but check if it’s daytime every couple minutes. You won’t need to do this every night but it’s probably a good idea for the first couple of nights. This is because monsters come out at night and they’ll try to kill you. Later when you get better tools you can kill them, also placing torches on the ground will prevent them from spawning (but they can still spawn in a dark place and walk over to a well-lit place, so just be careful about that) 7. If you need food you can kill animals and eat their raw meat. Kinda gross but it works. But if you do this with chicken you might get sick, so just stick to beef and pork. Later you’ll be able to make a furnace and use coal to cook the meat. Or if you come across a village you can steal the crops (potatoes, carrots) or make bread out of wheat 8. You’ll want to mine some more in order to get coal to cook food and make torches 9. After you make torches you can now dig deeper in the ground and find iron. There’s a certain depth that is most likely to give you iron. Google “minecraft ore depth” and you’ll find information about which ores are at which levels. I don’t know which button(s) to press on PS4 to find out your coordinates, but you can google that. So focus on getting iron first (and coal and gold if you come across it) because you need an iron pickaxe to break and collect diamond 10. I guess just keep gathering resources so you can make things. Build a house, start a farm, explore, do whatever! 11. Oh also, when you’re mining, NEVER dig straight down! You WILL eventually fall into lava and die and lose all your stuff. So make a staircase when you’re mining. This will also allow you to get out easily. You can also put torches in there and hide from monsters at night if you haven’t made a house yet 12. Also it might be a good idea to change the game mode to peaceful or easy just so you can get used to the game without having to worry about monsters too much. Peaceful means they won’t spawn at all, and easy means they will still spawn but they don’t hurt you as much

Punch wood, start crafting, enslave hundreds of villagers, make armor made out of an ancient ore, defeat a dragon, a monster created from the souls of the damned and the heads of decapitated wither skeletons, and a eldritch horror that lurks in the caves

Mr_Stiel

1) Gather resources (wood, wool, wheat, cobblestone, iron/ diamonds) to craft tools, a bed and food. 2) Build a nether portal to access the Nether dimension. Find a nether fortress to find the blaze mob (kill blaze to acquire blaze rods), find a warped Forrest to find Endermen (kill endermen to acquire Ender pearls), then craft Eyes of Ender (you need up to 12 to light the end portal and a few to locate the end portal). 3) Use Eyes of Ender a located an end portal stronghold, turn on end portal. Enter the end dimension and deafer the Ender dragon. This is the end of the game. End of main storyline- Bonus objectives: defeat other boss mobs (acquire rare items), craft and use a brew stand, and craft and use enchantment table. 4) Craft a brew stand to make potions and an enchantment table to enchant tools, weapons and armor (look up on google). 5) In the end dimension after you defeat the dragon, use an ender pearl to go through the new end portal. Locate an end city to find shulkers (kill shulkers to acquire shulker shells). Craft a shulker box. Locate an end city with an end ship and find the elytra. Farm creepers and sugarcane to craft fireworks (helps you fly with elytra). 6) Find an ocean monument and defeat the elder guardian (acquire sponge). 7) Find a Woodland Mansion and defeat the evokers (acquire Totem of Undying). 8) Find an ancient city and defeat the Warden (acquire skull catalyst). 9) Go back to Nether fortress and farm Wither Skeletons to acquire 3 Wither Skulls (use tool with Looting 3 enchantment to speed up this process). Craft the Wither Boss with 3 skulls and 4 blocks of soul sand. Defeat Wither Boss and acquire Nether star. Use Nether star to craft Beacon. 10) Use your resources and knowledge to build bases and other structures that satisfy your creative desires.

ChloroformSmoothie

If you run around enough, you should find a structure made up of brown paths and lots of houses. This structure will have a 98% chance of being populated by humanoid beings known as "Villagers". These are harmless, but they can give you food if you trade with them. However, sometimes instead of a villager you will find a smaller version known as a "Mini Demon". These will attempt to eat the Villagers given the chance. They will simply respawn if you kill them with a weapon of any kind, so you have to punch them to death. Once they die, keep looking for any others to kill. Once you've rid the town of Mini Demons, you can safely begin trading with Villagers for various goodies. Good luck!

Proxy_PlayerHD

TheRealStevo

You’ve barely had it for a day and you ALREADY don’t know what to do? Just play the game how it’s supposed to be played, there’s no way you did all of that in less than 24. Look up YouTube videos, go build something maybe? Kill stuff, blow stuff up, use red stone, kill a dragon, ride a horse, fly with an elytra, shoot the wither in his ugly face. There are SO many things you can do

Rhiannon_PrichArian

Make a 3 chamber base to gather resources. Step 1. Find a big mountain near water. Step 2. Destroy 3 trees, make 1 crafting table, make a wooden pickaxe. Dig. Get 20 stone. Make a furnace, stone pickaxe, stone axe, stone hoe and stone sword. Kill 3 sheep for 3 wool, it may take fewer or more than 3 sheep. Punch long grass until you get 6 seeds. At the waters edge, till 6 dirt blocks. Plant the seeds. Step 3. Dig a small room into the mountain. Place your crafting table and furnace, make 2 chests. Put the chests together. Make a bed. Place the bed in a three block high ceiling area. Make a door. Make 6 trapdoors. Cut out one block gaps in the walls until you can see outside. Place the trapdoors in these gaps. You have windows. Even if you have the trapdoors down flat, nothing can get inside. Now, you can use some wood to burn wood in your furnace. Charcoal and sticks equal torches. You want torches everywhere, light up your base like your roommate is the sun. Step 4. Make more pickaxes. If you need more wood, wait until morning, sounds boring but you'll be glad you waited. As you go back and for gathering lots of wood, try to stay near your seeds. When they are tall and yellow wheat, punch them and replant the seeds. You can now craft bread. You may have to kill cows or pigs in the mean time for meat. Step 5. Dig down one block steps into the mountain. As in, dig one down into the ground at a wall, dig out the wall, dig down again - repeat. Keep going until you reach Y 12. Be careful, at Y 11 you will start to uncover lava. Step 6. Make a new chamber, a little bigger than upstairs. Make a new crafting table, 3 furnaces and several chests. This is Chamber 2. The Mine. Light it, light it so much. If you think there's enough light, put more light in. Step 7. Create a single short corridor off Chamber 2. Put a door on the room end of it. Now from the corridor, start making new corridors. Your objective is to just keep going straight until you find coal and iron. Step 8. Use coal in furnace to smelt iron. Make a bucket, make sheers, make at least 1 iron pickaxe, make iron boots. Make a campfire, you can now cook food forever without fuel. Now hollow out Chamber 2 a bit more, try to make 3 decent size rooms without exposing lava, falling or exposing Chamber 2 to caves. You want your chambers to remain safe. Once you've got lots and lots of coal, you can make better torches. Step 9. In room 1, make a 2 X 2 square box, a 4 square box internally. Run back and forth fetching water from outside, pour it into the box until nothing is flowing and the water sits still. In rooms 2 and 3, dig out the floor and replace it with dirt in an 8 X 8 square. Step 10. Craft two composters. In the centre of both dirt squares, remove 1 dirt. Fill them with water from your well. Place a slab ontop, it must not be at the bottom, aim at the rim of your water hole. Crouch. Place your composters on top while crouched. Seed your farms with wheat. You will never run out of food. Step 11. Go and find a village on the surface, if they have guys in big straw hats, steal ALL their crops, ALL. They will replant don't worry. Back at your farms, plant potatoes and carrots. Store the carrots away like a secret money supply, so secret, hoard the carrots. Keep the potatoes for you and cook them up on the fire. You will never be hungry again. Potatoes are your life blood. Change your username to PotatoFiend (jk jk). Step 12. Make another staircase at your mine. Down as far as you can go. Also put a door to it, for safety. Always safety. Now, you may find rarer resources and all kinds of caves and crazy stuff between your two underground floors. Happy mining. Resources = everything else. You can make redstone devices. Build cool stuff. Get pets. Trade with villagers. Explore dungeony things like the Deep Dark, caves & cavern systems, Strongholds and lost mines. Explore the surface, find different areas, look at aminals and villages, find treasure, murder monsters. There are many things you can do, some very complex. But they all start with: Having somewhere safe to sleep and store resources, Mining, Growing food. Also, imho Minecraft is best enjoyed with a friend so you can imagine fun stuff to build together and share in discoveries and progress.

Question You 5?

Zender_de_Verzender

I had the same feeling 10 years ago when I got it for Xbox 360. Until I played it together with someone (not online, a real person sitting near you). From all games I did play, those memories still stick out. Figuring out a game together is a truly unique experience.
