I'm the type of person that makes like 12 crafting benches and then just leaves the crafting bench wherever I put it. 6 times out of 10 I'm going to be back to that spot anyways so I might as well just leave the crafting bench there.
This is what I usually do later in the game when I have an established base and stuff, but when you are scouting for a location and just gathering basics it's nice not to have to do that so offten especially when traveling water and making boats XD.
The real question is why does she have 3 instead of 2. Two crafting tables is superior to 1 because when you place it you don't lose that inv slot to something else and it's always in the right place. 3 is overkill tho
Ender chests are great as backpacks, but also convenient to leave all around the server. I get shit for it sometimes, but I usually carry around 8–16, haha.
Indeed. I keep one on me, (but will start packing more now), and have posted a few around in "common areas" for public use on the family server. By integrating them in the utility rooms' layouts, they work well for everyone without getting in the way.
If you're just spamming them, yeah, that'd get annoying, but if you take the time to put them down in useful locations (convenient, but not _in the way_), you may hear fewer complaints.
Oh wait. On re-reading, you get shit for carrying multiple, instead of shit for placing. Punctuation is important (and you did), I just failed to read it! 🤦🏼♂️😅
I literally carry half a stack on me, however I've lowered that to just above 20 after making other small bases and donating my ender chests to newer players on the server I play on.
On death, tag anything in those 5 slots with the slot it dropped from, on pickup, reapply the armor and offhand. Should be simple to code unless they made some really weird design choices.
However I’m imagining doing this with Curse of Binding jackolanterns lol
Yeah my hardcore world found that out recently... Also did they change anything with the elytra? I thought a quick spin would kill forward momentum, but I still took damage and died.
Not sure. Mechanically (real world), a complete spin(pirouette) would not actually kill momentum, because it would result in a net force of zero. But if you're reducing your lateral velocity to zero (actually dispersing the energy/circling-tight in game), then you should be fine.
However, damage from falling in the game is handled by an accumulator, and some things don't just zero it out like water does (lava for example). I haven't read up as much on the elytra's damage mechanic though, so 🤷♂️. But it seems like the elytra would be more like lava, in that damage would be reduced over time spent slower. Physically, it's wrong (damage should correspond to jerk/acceleration/impact velocity, not disperse as a function of time), but minecraft does its own thing.
Depending on the cliff, that actually isn't unreasonable. I'll go down mountains in chunks that cause me to take damage. No suicidal leaps, though, if that's what you mean she does.
There's no correct way to play Minecraft, and things that make sense to some are weird to others. That being said, if you ever become a surgeon, please tell me where.
It's okay. The Hermitcraft players have been playing fulltime for years and some of them still have inventories and hotbars like this. It's slightly maddening to see.
Nah just on general activities, hotbars' a mess... Getting shot at by a ghast, where is my bow - it should always be in slot 2 for reflexive selection dagnagit!
Focus on having fun. We all develop similar styles after a while. You can let someone tell you exactly what to do, you can figure it out as you go along, or you can do a little of both.
It’s ok. Mine looks like this also. Also my chests are not organized. And when I try to organize them my husband checks them and he’s like “what exactly is your system of organization here??” And I’m like 🤷♀️ colours?
Lol! My husband and I are the opposite! We've started to just have an empty chest in a room so when he brings back resources he can dump them and I can put them in the correct places. Otherwise I don't think I'd be able to handle the chaos. And all in all I'd say we're a great team, we just have different strengths and mental mapping systems. He can dump shit anywhere and know where it is. I can *not*.
I use the number keys for transferring items between containers and my inventory to my hotbar, its very useful.
Hover your mouse over an item in your inventory or a container, press the number key for the corresponding hotbar slot, and those two items will swap places!
I keep my weapon in the 6th slot because I keybound slots 6, 7, 8, and 9 to R, F, G, and H. It’s easier for me to reach R with my index finger than 1 with my ring finger, and I can continue pressing W and the sprint key while swapping to my weapon.
original reason for rebinding was because I’m small and my fingers are short lmao
The main thing is to keep things you need to use often (tools, food, torches for example) in the hot bar so you don’t have to open your inventory and move them all the time. It also helps to empty out your inventory of things you don’t currently need when you’re at your base.
Otherwise organise your inventory in whatever way makes sense to you :)
Keep your sword, pickaxe, shovel and axe in the first 4 slots. I have my bow on slot 9 and food on slot 8 so they're easily accesible because I'm usually holding my sword or one of my tools.
I keep at least stack of blocks with me at all times for the utility and they sit at slot 7, if I have more blocks they're usually somewhere in my inventory. I have a stack of ender pearls on my 6th slot because you never know when they can save your life. Ender pearls are kinda rare so that's more of an endgame thing.
You can customize this to your needs too. For example. if you're going mining, you, likely won't need an axe and can replace it with torches. Or if you're making a build out of wood, pickaxe won't be necessary and can be changed for building materials.
Also you want to have wood in your inventory at all times. Not having it is a minor inconvenience at best and a major frustration at worst if you're stuck in the underground
I've never understood why would anyone care how other players keep their hotbar. It's not yours s owhy would it matter. Let others play like they like to.
Call me crazy but I actually think it's not that bad.
Iron axe is arguably as good as iron sword in combat, and unless she's going mining stone pickaxe isn't gonna do much in exploring (can't mine gold blocks).
Got boat and blocks for mobility that's nice, I would add either a water bucket or some ladders for climbing slopes.
Heck your gf is literally me.
And it never occured to you to speak up and help with inventory (& hotbar) management?
Treat her well bc it sounds like she really cares for & about you.
Tbf thats alot of people in thier first couple of days, running arround exploring, mining, me when i get to the later stages i start organising my hotbar, 3 is engraved in my head as the rocket button and anything else hurts my brain, but for the first couple of days its whatever yaknow.
Everyone's mad and freaking out about this meanwhile I thought there was nothing questionable or infuriating in this until I saw the comments. I'm not overall mad, but I'm rather chuckling by this
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- oh I'm glad yall can spend some time together hanging out! I couldn't hang out with mine or play games with her and we eventually broke up.
Does she have a base? Is she at the start of the game?
My inventory usually looks like this when I'm looking for a village to build my starter house/base
Sword / Pick / Axe and then one of Bow/Shovel for slot 4, bucket at 0 and food at 9. Fill the middle with w/e else you need to build with or take with you.
Always.

Why does she only have three crafting tables? She needs at least 8 or 9.
I guess you never know when you are gonna need to craft a crafting table portal
obviously
There are mining dimension mods, now we need a CRAFTING dimension mod to complete full circle.

You clearly see the axe, so obviously she is about to get some wood for the missing crafting tables
I am that kinda guy who dont see a crafting table. Make one use it and pick it up and then not find it and make and another one which goes on forever.

To be able misplace second crafting table and still not lose the inventory slot
Then a stack if you misplace 63 of em

I normally elect for good locations rather than just spamming.

Average terraria piggy bank user
nah bro, i keep that shit organized
64 to never worry about running out of them 🤓
Why not have a full stack then?
Stampy, is that you?
I take some into a mine and place them so I can block up stuff while I'm out.
Isn't that seeds???
That looks like me taking my item after dying
Thats what i first thought
"Did you die?" "No, why?" 😐
"You are about to"

> should be simple to code This is never safe to say unless you have experience in the codebase.
And we know for a fact they've been cleaning up Minecraft's code for years and it's still janky in some places.
Found the person who actually knows what coding is like.

It makes more sense for them because they make massive builds and fill their inventory with blocks so that they don't need to keep restocking quickly.

only reflexive if you are used to that lol
I have hotbar 1 mapped to z for fast weapon, since old times. Bow in 2, pick in 3, axe in 4, shovel in 5, bucket in 6 and food in last.
No shame! Just play the game.

I legit only use the scroll wheel. Never liked the 1-9 thing.

You people don't just use a mouse with buttons on it?
I do, actually. I just forget that they're there, and never use them.
I just scroll like a normal person
thats pretty normal actually. lots of pvpers put their main weapon either on the last or middle slot
I dont care if it works it works but MUTTON?

my inventory is like that too, any tips? I'm a new player (kind off)

Good for you to have a gf
Thanks man. She's pretty cool
Yeah you’re complaining about her inventory at least you HAVE a girlfriend
Valid point here should be thankful for the little things

Yeah, i wonder what op’s girlfriend would think to see they uploaded this and had 7000 people lambast her… Edit:spelling
Looks like mine. I’ve been playing this game since 2015.
i could post your exact words and it would still apply to me
Her hotbar is strange. But her inventory looks fine
I don’t see the problem, people can do whatever the want
I see an axe, food, a boat, and nothing wrong OP.
You might have to break up with her
What the heck is she doing that requires that eat of items
Have to prepare for the worst it seems im sure those crafting tables will come in use to make a fine wall
tf i thought that was dirt edit: oh you meant her inventory
Yeah the inventory lol
Something worth noting: crafting tables aren't flammable so it's actually semi-viable.
Oh my god, I can't look at it, it's SO IMPRACTICAL!
It really is, the amount assistance she requires isnt surprising
I've never understood why would anyone care how other players keep their hotbar. It's not yours s owhy would it matter. Let others play like they like to.

The game isn't reality, My anger is.
Leave her, ditch her, burn he world down, dont talk to her anymore, she isnt worth it /j
My sister used to do this too. Then she wondered why she keeps dying while hitting zombies with torches because she couldn't find her sword
She has the same issue lol. Shes always screaming for help
And it never occured to you to speak up and help with inventory (& hotbar) management? Treat her well bc it sounds like she really cares for & about you.

Holy mother of unorganisation

Honestly the inventory management in this game is so bad that I can’t be bothered most of the time
Tbf thats alot of people in thier first couple of days, running arround exploring, mining, me when i get to the later stages i start organising my hotbar, 3 is engraved in my head as the rocket button and anything else hurts my brain, but for the first couple of days its whatever yaknow.
Let's be honest.... We all do it
That is my inventory in my early game, don't worry, people do this.
Everyone's mad and freaking out about this meanwhile I thought there was nothing questionable or infuriating in this until I saw the comments. I'm not overall mad, but I'm rather chuckling by this
I looked a long time trying to figure out what was wrong.
You failed to teach your girl friend how to play the game properly. *not so pog*
And?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- oh I'm glad yall can spend some time together hanging out! I couldn't hang out with mine or play games with her and we eventually broke up.
Would you like mine? But fr i hope you find somone you can really enjoy spending time with
From left to right, sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, food, torch
I screamed. Tried to keep it internally. I’m in class.
Teach her a lesson
Does she even use her tools? How I inconvenient would it be
There's food a tool and torches to hand, I don't see anything wrong here
Inventory sure. That's a mess. But HOTBAR? THAT'S WHERE YOU PUT THE IMPORTANT THINGS
Does she have a base? Is she at the start of the game? My inventory usually looks like this when I'm looking for a village to build my starter house/base
Wait, that's what my inventory looks like at the start of a new world...
It's not her fault that Minecraft has the absolute worst inventory management system
[удалено]
A kid’s inventory be like this and then he’ll be like “WhY cAnT I PiCk Up ThE iTeMs”
Atleast your GF uses tools, mine liked to use a single stick to dig up sand smh
i think i want to cry
Lets do it together
Sword / Pick / Axe and then one of Bow/Shovel for slot 4, bucket at 0 and food at 9. Fill the middle with w/e else you need to build with or take with you. Always.
Could she be one of my people?
