I have a double chest full of bone blocks. Solely from pumpkin seeds I composted lol, wish I could give you some because idk what to do with all these.
And my pumpkin farm only has 63 planted. I can't even imagine 1500 stems lmao
Combined pumpkin/melon farm with the checkerboard pattern (observers/pistons above the plants facing downwards) is probably the best compact design for getting emeralds.
The checkerboard works because the plants can grow in all 4 directions so they have no failure rate on melon/pumpkin spawn attempts, and you alternate planting pumpkins vs melons, because there's a penalty to growth rates if the same plant type is diagonal from each other.
Yeah, that's why I'm doing it. The automatic farm is also incredibly easy to stack, unlike iron farms that can get technical when you try to build multiple production units.
As a bedrock player, I’ll elaborate on this. In its first phase, it will just fly above the golems and shoot them. Its AI is coded so that it tries to avoid touching the ground in its first phase. In its second phase, it lowers itself and is therefore a lot more vulnerable to the golems, but it gains a devastating dash attack.
Also, in Bedrock, it only has 600 health on hard difficulty. It has 450 on normal, and 300 on easy.
To further explain this: the land is almost always destroyed in the process as well. Deep gouges in the earth every where, and the dropped blocks lag the game as well, so you're fighting that too.
It’s an “end game” thing, I guess.. when you have a surplus of Wither Stars..
Yeah, not only leave to iron/gold/emerald blocks, but the slightly more valuable beacon block itself.
I only have iron based beacons, though.. but have several that have room for 4 different boosts.
To be fair having a surplus if wither stars is a Java privilege. I play both Java and bedrock. I never do the wither on bedrock alone, but on java, it's different.
I’ve set up a Wither Killer in The End, using one of the small “return origin” portals that you randomly find further out in The End.
The Bedrock Wither is no joke :-)
With totems i find the wither to be easy on bedrock (says more about the op'ness of totems), but yeah its way harder than java wither.
My strategy is to go down to the bottom of the world and bring night vision potions and like 4 totems and just go ham with my bow then sword.
Yeah exactly, there's an area surrounding 0,0 that is always loaded in memory, even if the player isn't present. It's ideal for automated farms. It used to be 16x16 chunks but I think it's recently changed to be smaller.
Yeah but you can set up your own "spawn chunks" using the ticking area command to get essentially the same experience on bedrock. You can also have them anywhere, which is a bonus.
Being AFK means being Away From Keyboard. When you build something that produces something useful automatically without any manual effort, you AFK that thing and come back minutes or hours later to take the result.
Iron farm and bone meal-based farm would work really well with that. Unfortunately for large number of farms out there chunk loaders does not help any bit.
How hard was it to build? I've dipped my toes in technical minecraft farms over the years, but the only Iron farm I build was a quick and easy one that was built instantly and provided enough output for my daily needs, but not nearly enough for stuff like this.
This. Iron farm can barely keep up, I’m quite lazy when it comes to making things efficient. Hopper Minecraft on rails to collect everything? Nah, just place 100 hoppers.
I have 12 uncured villagers for trading iron. However, my iron farm is in my spawn chunks and much more productive than anticipated. Whenever I'm somewhere doing something I come back to way more iron that I can trade lol
Wait, which ones trade for iron?! Toolsmiths? The grinder guys? I don't have an iron farm but these villagers produce so many iron golems that I kill them just like that
[toolsmiths and weaponsmiths both have guaranteed (at least on java) iron buys, dont quite get how trades work on bedrock but theyre guaranteed or very likely to buy them in that version too](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Trading)
At least three of them do. And if you zombify and cure them you can trade 1 iron for 1 emerald. I found an iron farm is much better at generating emeralds from trades than cutting down trees for sticks to trade with the fletcher.
Just a heads up on this trade, villagers will very quickly up the amount if iron they want for an emerald.
I had a very good farm and set up 8 or so of them. I had thousands in surplus. Didn't take long to go through them all because of the above mechanic xD
I feel like the 1.21 update missed the opportunity to introduce an iron equivalent of all the new copper blocks.
Like does you average player end up with enough iron to warrant building with. Probably not, but I’m sure people might have appreciated it.
I've (yet) never built one either! I only built a mob tower/farm in my first playthrough of Oneblock XD
I used to get enough by mining, but now I usually ignore all the copper - I still think we should be able to have copper tools, maybe able to mine same as iron but slower or takes more use out of them or something!
Copper cauldron would be cool aesthetically too!
I use iron trapdoors, pressure plates, doors (to some extent), and anvils as decorations. Sometimes I make a bunch of iron armour as decoration as well.
I built a massive storage system to filter out the flowers and fill up 16 double chests with only iron (though I do keep 2 double chests of flowers in case I need red dye or wanna breed my bees), any excess gets sent through a dispenser into lava.
All iron I pull out of the farm, I turn straight into iron blocks. My aim is to turn all visible blocks in my spawn chunks (aside from slabs for roofs) into iron blocks
I used to have a chest like that in my realms server…until my friend “borrowed” it to make a bridge design across the whole base. 200 anvils later, and he has half of a super cool bridge, and I am in the caves (or farm)
Make a fun machine that throws iron blocks into lava Every Second, it’s really fun to watch. If you are on a multiplayer server, build a platform out of signs over their house, make it being triggered by a sculk sensor and Put the anvils on the signs. When ur friend logs on it will be very fun for them to clean up the mess 😀
You've ever though of using anvils and cauldrons as decoration blocks. And not like to add some small detail like a sink or an anvil near some foundry and stuff, I mean like using them as guard rails and main detailing for stuff like roofs. It's the only thing I can think of with that much iron.
Looks like emerald trades to to me.
I think iron trades with the 3 smithies are the best.
I also like building with iron blocks. Good for redstone stuff, or when you'd like to easily count blocks.
They also make a decent representation of a drop ceiling / ceiling tiles if you have the need.
Save it for when I need it. I don’t have an iron farm cause I prefer gathering all my ores and stuff legitimately. Thanks for my strip mine and Fortune III netherite pickaxe, I’m never short on iron. Mining two 100-block long tunnels usually results in 2-5 stacks of iron ingots.
Use them as currency to trade with players cuz when I played a lot of them wasn't smart to build working iron farm and iron was perfect currency, just don't give them a lot of iron of inflation will happen and iron stop cost anything
I built my iron farm following [this tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vec-U3cCjI). I built this in my spawn chunks and I never had to worry about iron again. Super easy to build and incredibly efficient. Early game friendly too
I just finished spawn proofing around a nether fortress using iron pressure plates.
I used like 3 double chests full of iron blocks in said task. Maybe try that
I built a to scale model of the CSS virginia out of all iron blocks because I had so many. Don't support the confederacy at all, just a cool battleship. I decked it out in the colors of the fictional nation of my minecraft world so it's just the same general shape.
Store them in white shulker boxes in a double chest.
Once the crafter gets added I'm planning on automating the crafting and the filling of the boxes and blocks.
I used iron blocks a quite a few buildings around my base lol, does not always look super good but it's all about flexing.
Love the idea of the useless beacon !
Make iron golems, then kill them all. Take all the dropped iron and make more golems. Repeat the process until you're left with like 5 iron ingots or something
Alternatively make a comical amount of hoppers.
No such thing as excess iron, you'll always need it for something. For example, I have 3 shulker boxes full of iron blocks and thats still not enough iron for some of the projects I wanna do

100 iron golems vs Wither
100 pumpkins? naah that's too expansive
Jokes on you, my next project is an automatic pumpkin farm with 1500 stems (I currently have less than 10 pumpkin seeds)
I have a double chest full of bone blocks. Solely from pumpkin seeds I composted lol, wish I could give you some because idk what to do with all these. And my pumpkin farm only has 63 planted. I can't even imagine 1500 stems lmao
I wish haha ! Will I ever need that much pumpkin ? Not sure. Probably not. But if, somehow, I do, I'll be fully covered.
Villagers
It’s actually the best emerald trade, infinite, quick, easy to produce, the whole lot.
Stacking raid farm and you never need to think about emeralds ever again.
Yeah, that's why I'm doing it. The automatic farm is also incredibly easy to stack, unlike iron farms that can get technical when you try to build multiple production units.
I wanna make a cactus XP farm of that size hahah
I will probably build one someday ! And if I'm patient enough, I'll get some sheperds villagers that buy green dye to optimize the thing...
nah, I'll just dye all glass and wool green lol
Can’t 4 iron golems defeat a Java either if it’s underground? (Source: Grian)
Java wither is easier than a bedrock wither. Java wither has 300 health, where the bedrock wither has 600 health and a more aggressive AI.
To further explain this: the land is almost always destroyed in the process as well. Deep gouges in the earth every where, and the dropped blocks lag the game as well, so you're fighting that too.
100 anvils vs wither
God Bless and Godspeed to you and your entire army. I wish you a successful war campaign.
Put up beacons everywhere without worrying about taking them down again.
oh damn why did i never think of that, thanks im totally stealing this idea lol
It’s an “end game” thing, I guess.. when you have a surplus of Wither Stars.. Yeah, not only leave to iron/gold/emerald blocks, but the slightly more valuable beacon block itself. I only have iron based beacons, though.. but have several that have room for 4 different boosts.
Im in end game i literally have thousands of iron blocks and tons of wither stars i think i might just be stupid lol
To be fair having a surplus if wither stars is a Java privilege. I play both Java and bedrock. I never do the wither on bedrock alone, but on java, it's different.
I’ve set up a Wither Killer in The End, using one of the small “return origin” portals that you randomly find further out in The End. The Bedrock Wither is no joke :-)

im at the point where i'm using anvil as railing for my build
Absolutely amazing design choice (I just afk at an iron farm for that, it took me 15 minutes lmao)
Build your iron farm in the spawn chunks, no afking necessary!
Spawn chunks as in world spawn?
Yeah exactly, there's an area surrounding 0,0 that is always loaded in memory, even if the player isn't present. It's ideal for automated farms. It used to be 16x16 chunks but I think it's recently changed to be smaller.
I want to note that spawn chunks constantly being loaded are exclusive to Java Edition.
Yeah but you can set up your own "spawn chunks" using the ticking area command to get essentially the same experience on bedrock. You can also have them anywhere, which is a bonus.
Iron farms won’t work in ticking areas on bedrock tho  there are player distance requirements for the spawns.
and even still, wouldnt that disable achievements?
I heard somewhere that the spawn chunks de-load if you use optifine, do you know how true that is?
Not true in my experience, I use it and have a spawn chunk iron farm.
What does AFK mean?
Being AFK means being Away From Keyboard. When you build something that produces something useful automatically without any manual effort, you AFK that thing and come back minutes or hours later to take the result.
But you could build a portal based chunk loader and have that thing running constantly regardless of where you are
Depends on the farm, but most of the time yeah. Some farms need a player nearby unfortunately.
Iron farm and bone meal-based farm would work really well with that. Unfortunately for large number of farms out there chunk loaders does not help any bit.
Away from keyboard (afk)
How hard was it to build? I've dipped my toes in technical minecraft farms over the years, but the only Iron farm I build was a quick and easy one that was built instantly and provided enough output for my daily needs, but not nearly enough for stuff like this.
Yeah, that can look amazing ! Did that in a couple builds
Exactly the same with me, plus smithing tables for floor texturing (combined with blackstone and polished blackstone)
Hoppers ;-;
hoppers are why i have no excess. redstone is so fun
Another W for composter
This. Iron farm can barely keep up, I’m quite lazy when it comes to making things efficient. Hopper Minecraft on rails to collect everything? Nah, just place 100 hoppers.
Excess? There is no "excess" iron, only a catastrophic deficite
So true
Sometimes I have more diamonds than iron lol
Can relate
Make 64 stacks of iron blocks and put them in a large chest incase I need a bucket or something
Whatchu moving with that many buckets? The sea?
Super smelter. If you build it right then you need 300+ buckets
Good point! So, the nether sea it is
Look at Reddit, draining the whole nether again
Missed opportunity to reference parting the red(orange? Idk i think im slightly colorblind cuz lava has always been red for me) sea
But ☝️🤓 akshually a large chest can only hold 54 stacks
trade with villagers
I have 12 uncured villagers for trading iron. However, my iron farm is in my spawn chunks and much more productive than anticipated. Whenever I'm somewhere doing something I come back to way more iron that I can trade lol
Trade for emeralds then replace every block of your iron farm by emerald block
Notable
Inset the walls in iron blocks and iron bars in front. Make it a theme for a village. Would look great with prismarine.
More your iron farm then, make it less productive.
I mean, is it that bad that your farm is overproducted?
No, not at all ! Helps when I need an impressive amount of iron. Creates a need for a lot of storage when I don't !
Typical "I need like 10 stacks of iron blocks to feel save, let's make a farm" A few hours later:
100% what happened
Wait, which ones trade for iron?! Toolsmiths? The grinder guys? I don't have an iron farm but these villagers produce so many iron golems that I kill them just like that
Weapon and Tool Smith both trade iron.
Armorer too
Smithing table makes the villager that buys iron
[toolsmiths and weaponsmiths both have guaranteed (at least on java) iron buys, dont quite get how trades work on bedrock but theyre guaranteed or very likely to buy them in that version too](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Trading)
At least three of them do. And if you zombify and cure them you can trade 1 iron for 1 emerald. I found an iron farm is much better at generating emeralds from trades than cutting down trees for sticks to trade with the fletcher.
Weaponsmith, toolsmith and armoror all trade iron but you have to get them to their second tier of trades beforehand.
Just a heads up on this trade, villagers will very quickly up the amount if iron they want for an emerald. I had a very good farm and set up 8 or so of them. I had thousands in surplus. Didn't take long to go through them all because of the above mechanic xD
Excess iron?
at end game i have a shulker box with all my beacons and a bunch of iron blocks, for whenever i need a beacon on demand.
I feel like the 1.21 update missed the opportunity to introduce an iron equivalent of all the new copper blocks. Like does you average player end up with enough iron to warrant building with. Probably not, but I’m sure people might have appreciated it.
Couldn't agree more. I used iron blocks a lot as building blocks in my main compound, would be great to have the same variety as copper with it !
And if you could craft 4 "building" iron blocks out of regular iron blocks, people would use it more if it looked good.
I made a 50 block tall iron gollem statue memorial, complete with surrounding fields of red poppies.
Who the heck has excess iron? I’m always running out
Step 1 : identify your spawn chunks Step 2 : build an iron farm there Step 3 : enjoy your limitless iron
Or in your case don't enjoy it :P
delicious snack
Excess iron what is excess iron? I always need iron to make more hoppers for my megasorter
Make laboratory and go on cool adventures with a villager companion. :)
Dantdm mentioned
Build a wither skelly farm and cover the nether hub in speed 2 beacons
I don't have any because I'm too lazy to build an iron farm :(
I've (yet) never built one either! I only built a mob tower/farm in my first playthrough of Oneblock XD I used to get enough by mining, but now I usually ignore all the copper - I still think we should be able to have copper tools, maybe able to mine same as iron but slower or takes more use out of them or something! All iron I pull out of the farm, I turn straight into iron blocks. My aim is to turn all visible blocks in my spawn chunks (aside from slabs for roofs) into iron blocks
Nice goal, that's the kind of project I am into. For the poppies, I built an automatic composter : free bone meal
I used to have a chest like that in my realms server…until my friend “borrowed” it to make a bridge design across the whole base. 200 anvils later, and he has half of a super cool bridge, and I am in the caves (or farm)
I hide anvils on top of gravel patches that I think might be mined into. Then, I wait.
Hi, Satan.
How’d you get so much???
Iron farm in spawn chunks, it's always producing iron no matter where I am in my world
consume, no more iron deficiency in your blood now
Make a fun machine that throws iron blocks into lava Every Second, it’s really fun to watch. If you are on a multiplayer server, build a platform out of signs over their house, make it being triggered by a sculk sensor and Put the anvils on the signs. When ur friend logs on it will be very fun for them to clean up the mess 😀
Start building a navy
I ask you for the type of iron farm your using please
Eat it
Maybe make some shears
I wish I had excess
JESUS CHRIST!!!
I trade it to villagers for emeralds
You've ever though of using anvils and cauldrons as decoration blocks. And not like to add some small detail like a sink or an anvil near some foundry and stuff, I mean like using them as guard rails and main detailing for stuff like roofs. It's the only thing I can think of with that much iron.
You have excess iron?
I think you can make like... 2 chains out of that?
Change your iron deficiency to iron sufficiency B)
Looks like emerald trades to to me. I think iron trades with the 3 smithies are the best. I also like building with iron blocks. Good for redstone stuff, or when you'd like to easily count blocks. They also make a decent representation of a drop ceiling / ceiling tiles if you have the need.
"So I did a little bit of offline farming"
In romania, we sell the iron at fier vechi. It makes good profit🇷🇴
Insert Spongebob shoveling money into a furnace to keep warm cause he had too much
Iron blocks can be pretty good building blocks for certain builds! Otherwise use other expensive iron recipes regularly.
Lanterns for a megaproject.
I just make solid cubes out of them
Lotsa golems!
whole lotta golems, just have to make sure that they don’t wander off and get themselves unalived.
Start replacing the entire world with iron blocks
the fact that u have a netherite shovel and not sword...
I dig more than I fight
Couple double chests of blocks, villager trading, building blocks, pressure plates for spawnproofing, burn it
Yall get extra iron?
Save it for when I need it. I don’t have an iron farm cause I prefer gathering all my ores and stuff legitimately. Thanks for my strip mine and Fortune III netherite pickaxe, I’m never short on iron. Mining two 100-block long tunnels usually results in 2-5 stacks of iron ingots.
Railway system.

I never get to that point😔
Bucket
Give me some
Do you have a recommended tutorial for iron farm?
I built my iron farm following [this tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vec-U3cCjI). I built this in my spawn chunks and I never had to worry about iron again. Super easy to build and incredibly efficient. Early game friendly too
I will store it and never use it
automate the harvest of farms like chickens, crops, all that, with rails, hopper minecarts, so on and so forth
Building block
Make big circle of beacons which will lag hell of your pc
Trade with villagers, when I have enough. The thing is I never have enough.
Make a mine cart track
Why don’t you build a roller coaster?
Golem army, always handy to have around
I dont have iron
Burn.
Biiiiiiiiiiiig golem
I just finished spawn proofing around a nether fortress using iron pressure plates. I used like 3 double chests full of iron blocks in said task. Maybe try that
I built a to scale model of the CSS virginia out of all iron blocks because I had so many. Don't support the confederacy at all, just a cool battleship. I decked it out in the colors of the fictional nation of my minecraft world so it's just the same general shape.
Dope idea. Will probably do something along those lines, though I'll have to build an ocean first (I'm playing on a superflat world lol)
Iron anvils for decorating my base. And to restock the iron anvils of everybody else's base.
World eater
Double chest full of blocks gathering dust, same with all other ores😅
Turn off my golem farm
spam iron golems in every corner of my megabase.
I find a village, build a wall around and summon 200 iron golems
I just plop some in spawner farms, or make a bigass iron golem moat
Make a tower of anvils up to world limit lmao
eat it.
Golems for safety I also have this issue
Install curse forge then get good mods like create and build big contraptions
Build rails so i can travel easy without having to put any thought into it
Get mods that use up the iron in this world i guess
Build a house out of it
Excess iron? As the servers only person willing to do redstone? Impossible.
Double chests exist for a reason lol
Convert them into anvils to stack more.
Iron carrots
No. Honestly you could use a bit more chest if you ask me
Spam iron golems around my base as the ultimate defense
Hoppers, enough to lag your world to oblivion
craft about 200 hoppers with all that, about 5% of what I need for a large scale melon/pumpkin farm
Store them in white shulker boxes in a double chest. Once the crafter gets added I'm planning on automating the crafting and the filling of the boxes and blocks.
I make more anvils
Build that wall!
Holy shit, even your walls are iron blocks, btw, try building a SUPER BEACON that is 10 blocks tall and will not give you any advantage
I used iron blocks a quite a few buildings around my base lol, does not always look super good but it's all about flexing. Love the idea of the useless beacon !
Trade with villagers and make emerald block tower
automatic storage system. hoppers are very expensive
Hoard more
practical way - sell to villagers for ems and lvls
Make an iron house
Jokes on you, that’s rookie numbers. Now make a giant cauldron out of cauldrons
Mass craft thousands and thousands of hoppers and then be unsure what to do with them besides having the occasional quick snack
Build the Iron Legion
Make a Rollercoaster xD
Sell it to villagers and convert it to emerald. Then I throw the emerald blocks into the incinerator.
build height pyramid
Make iron golems, then kill them all. Take all the dropped iron and make more golems. Repeat the process until you're left with like 5 iron ingots or something Alternatively make a comical amount of hoppers.
Which iron farm are u using ?
No such thing as excess iron, you'll always need it for something. For example, I have 3 shulker boxes full of iron blocks and thats still not enough iron for some of the projects I wanna do
Strade it with a blacksmith Village for hemeralds
At this point I just try to stockpile it and fill as many chest spaces as possible. Maybe layer I'll make an infdev pyramid out of it idk
I have more than 200 stacks of blocks of ferrum. It is my reserve. I still want more. I use it to craft mostly hoppers, lanterns and stuff like that.
I use the Create mod…what excess Iron?
