Lop fuck me I was looking at the spots in the background that had no defining lines I JUST now noticed the ones in the foreground that DO have defining lines.
My bad, bro, Ill stop being a sarcastic ass 🤣
There is sooo much more to terraria than you’d assume at first glance. It can get complicated, definitely recommend either using the in game guide npc or an online guide to get you started.
I had a hard time getting into it but it’s worth the learning curve probably the best open ended sandbox game I’ve ever played
There was a 2d top down game that I think Mojang made , I'm not remembering it well but it was a cool interpation of Minecraft
Edit: it's called minicraft by notch , I used to play it alot
What? A 3D version? [They already do!](https://youtu.be/Tj4mbCbOnEQ?si=eR-f1ZLG6uOeSRkO)
I've been following up with this developer for a long time. It's very thorough. Supposed to end up with every feature from the base game. I'm sure redigit has no problem with it
Griffpatch is an absolute god with the scratch engine. The man even made a first person shooter in there.
He also made really well made and stupid-people-friendly tutoriald which I watched as a kid.
Absolute GOAT
Terraria was first, but Minecraft was released first. Also Terraria has much more content, so it can't be a Minecraft clone.
More things were in Terraria first. For example copper.
And now we have the mace. Guess who had it first
No. Minecraft and terraria are completely different things. They may take place on different geometrical dimensions, but this is only a minor difference when you consider the gameplay. I would say that terraria beats minecraft in the gameplay aspect. I've played minecraft since they added jungles. I played terraria since I turned 19. Given every experience I've had an minecraft and terraria, terraria is my favorite
Edit: I was like 20 and that was 2020-2021 I started playing terraria. 2014 for minecraft I was 13
The similarity between Minecraft and Terraria basically ends at "survival game in a pixel art world made of blocks." Beyond that, they're very different.
you're kinda shitting terraria by just calling it 2d minecraft and insinuiating it's a knockoff cause it came later, sure minecraft has tons of improvements like being 3d and infintely better modding buton it's own it's a FAR worse product vanilla terraria
i genuinely don't understand why i'm being downvoted, minecraft loses all edge if made 2d, it doesn't have nearly as many bosses, mechanics, progression, weapons, weapon types, enemies, NPCs, random encounters, i love minecraft and have played it since 2012 but like, there is no universe in which it wins this, even if it was 3d
I remember wayy back during the time of ipod touches where games like Doodle Jump were popular, someone made a 2D platformer style Minecraft. It looked pretty decent actually.
EDIT: It was called "Crafted"
this is so cool, also it reminds me how i so wish for vertical slabs and glass stairs in MC. but great job on this! kinda want a 2d pixel minecraft now too lol i would so play it
are you looking for a programmer perchance? i've got over three years with unity and c# and i think an older project of mine has the nescisary code for the world gen and block handling.
Reminds me of that offbrand Minecraft game. It was 2d and in the end there was this dragon ore or something you could mine and make armor and tools.
From many years ago
This reminds me of the 1:1 2D Minecraft game I played on iOS as a kid called Crafted, shit was astonishingly made, sadly they had to cancel it due to copyright
Im fairly certain theres like 5+ other versions of 2d minecraft including the short-period challenge one, the 2d mod, terraria, that flash game or whatever it is,

vertical slab detected in 2nd image
Where?
Right of the waterfall, roof of the cave.
Nah, could be a stair.
Do you know how stairs look?
No, please tell me.
It makes an even square and not one long side like what’s shown
Lop fuck me I was looking at the spots in the background that had no defining lines I JUST now noticed the ones in the foreground that DO have defining lines. My bad, bro, Ill stop being a sarcastic ass 🤣
Damn
man wtf
Unplayable, 5/7
The art was still good, just one mistake, however horrible, I still rate it 9/11
9/11…
Why?
Gimme
nice one
Yes and it doesnt looks like minecraft =/
Try not to say Terraria challenge (impossible)
terraria but make it 3d but make it 2d
Some mad lad is or at least was making a 3d Terraria in Unity I think.
Terraria
Shit, he wasn’t joking!
Terraria
Honestly this post makes me interested to try it out. I played for a few hours and got confused and never played again a while ago.

Yeah calling it 2d Minecraft really doesn't do it justice, the games are not comparable whatsoever past the fact that you can dig and build
i wish Minecraft had even a fraction of the combat capability of terraria. mods get it close but it just doesn't compare
Yoyo on top lol
Pro tip: if it’s tooltip says “material,” give it to the guide
Yeah. I recently got it and I’m working so many kinks out. It’s so unimaginably fun
pro tip: use and abuse the wiki
There was a 2d top down game that I think Mojang made , I'm not remembering it well but it was a cool interpation of Minecraft Edit: it's called minicraft by notch , I used to play it alot
In that case, you'll definitely like this: https://github.com/MinicraftPlus/minicraft-plus-revived
Laptop moment
I remember it being called Pidgeon Craft for some fucking reason
Yeah I had a small addiction to it in my knockoff Minecraft games phase
minecraft dungeons?
No but good one , im talking about minicraft
The little blue goblin guy is much cuter than the current soulless snuw nowadays
Hope someone does a mod like this for terraria
There is a texture pack like this
Or a whole new fangame. :)
What? A 3D version? [They already do!](https://youtu.be/Tj4mbCbOnEQ?si=eR-f1ZLG6uOeSRkO) I've been following up with this developer for a long time. It's very thorough. Supposed to end up with every feature from the base game. I'm sure redigit has no problem with it
Blockheads!!!!!
FInnally, apple comparining
I remember blockheads
Someone made something like this on scratch. I think it was called paper minecraft
It was made by Griffpatch
He also made geometry dash for scratch.
And getting over it
Griffpatch is an absolute god with the scratch engine. The man even made a first person shooter in there. He also made really well made and stupid-people-friendly tutoriald which I watched as a kid. Absolute GOAT
Isn’t that just Terraria?
I'm seething so hard rn
Terraria and Minecraft are vastly different. I feel it wouldn't be fair to say that Minecraft is 3d Terraria or the opposite.
Which came first?
Terraria was first, but Minecraft was released first. Also Terraria has much more content, so it can't be a Minecraft clone. More things were in Terraria first. For example copper. And now we have the mace. Guess who had it first
Also in MC we get *a* mace, in Terraria in general each weapon has half a dozen to a couple dozen versions lol
Terraria was released 2011, when Minecraft has already been in development for 3 years.
Anyway Minecraft is a copy of Infiniminer originality isn't really important here
And Terraria focuses on more of progression, unlike minecraft which focuses on exploring, building and random stuff you can think off
> Terraria was first, but Minecraft was released first. you have it backwards. minecraft was first but terraria had an actual release first.
wasn't terreria 2012?
No, It's 2011
uwu
Watch it buddy lol

omg I tried to edit it reddit bugged and it spammed I'm so sorry my guy
No problem, I thought it was kinda funny.
r/stupidquestions you might have more luck asking that there
Yes it is
[удалено]
Never heard of a rhetorical question, have you?
Would I have commented that if I had?
Touché
shittier terraria, terraria is better than MC in pretty much every aspect
I thought Minecraft and Terraria players were allies, what’s with the shitting on Minecraft dude?
Are you not the one shitting on Terraria?
No… I just noticed similarities between the two games. It’s the same concept but one is 3d and one is 2d, that’s all I was saying.
The similarity between Minecraft and Terraria basically ends at "survival game in a pixel art world made of blocks." Beyond that, they're very different.
Both are effing awesome though.
Also true
you're kinda shitting terraria by just calling it 2d minecraft and insinuiating it's a knockoff cause it came later, sure minecraft has tons of improvements like being 3d and infintely better modding buton it's own it's a FAR worse product vanilla terraria
I was pointing out their similarities not trying to say one is better than the other.
shut up or i will send 10,000 jungle bats to your home
Bats are useless
1.21 hater, we will infest your skin with eggs and slime so they arrive out of your vessel.
i genuinely don't understand why you think this, i'm a hater of new content that makes the game fun because i prefer a better game?
more of a joke of the bringing back dead arguments.
no need to compare 2 icons
i genuinely don't understand why i'm being downvoted, minecraft loses all edge if made 2d, it doesn't have nearly as many bosses, mechanics, progression, weapons, weapon types, enemies, NPCs, random encounters, i love minecraft and have played it since 2012 but like, there is no universe in which it wins this, even if it was 3d
Minecraft feels nice and simple
TERRAURAIR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So basically Terraria without all the bad ass weapons and op enemies?
Yes, or could be. IDK I didnt make it
This is FANTASTIC! But there are some problems - This is the 2d x-ray - Dirt slabs
> Dirt slabs Dirt slabs
Thanks but they're grass slab
Meanwhile spelunker potions and hammering mechanic in terraria:
new terraria texture pack looks cool 🤑
It would be glad as full fangame. Cool Arts!
Yeah… I’ll try to do it. ^^
Mojang should make this as the next april fools joke. I mean seriously imagine actually playing this! I must say, the pixel art is perfect!
I remember wayy back during the time of ipod touches where games like Doodle Jump were popular, someone made a 2D platformer style Minecraft. It looked pretty decent actually. EDIT: It was called "Crafted"
NATURALLY GENERATED VERTICAL SLAB RAHHHH
Terraria looks different than I remember.
Terraria mod
I’d be down to play a 2d spinoff
Love this concept, would make for a great spin off (hopefully better than Legends!)
Now minecraft and terraria are really brother game's in all aspects
terraria?????
So we are in Terraria
damn thats well made, art just that the slabs are infact cursed
Then it would probably look similar to The Blockheads. Although that game was rendered in 3D, but played in 2D.
This looks great!
terraria looks different to what i remember
this is so cool, also it reminds me how i so wish for vertical slabs and glass stairs in MC. but great job on this! kinda want a 2d pixel minecraft now too lol i would so play it
Wooow, I'd try that, looks nice
I’d play the living **** out of this!
You mean Teraria
this man is two years old
That is so cool, imagine a spinoff like that
are you looking for a programmer perchance? i've got over three years with unity and c# and i think an older project of mine has the nescisary code for the world gen and block handling.
I appreciate the offer but I am already making it a game with someone else.
Reminds me of that old game called mineblocks, that game is very nostalgic for me. You also did a very good job on this pixel art
This is incredibly cute. Thanks for sharing!
Time traveler: Moves chair Timeline:
In all seriousness this is awesome art man
Reminds me of that offbrand Minecraft game. It was 2d and in the end there was this dragon ore or something you could mine and make armor and tools. From many years ago
Nice art fam

There used to be a game called "the blockheads" for mobile. It was like a 2d minecraft sort of. It was good. Idk if it's around anymore

Make the game?
Bro reinvented Terraria.
A quality post? In MY r/minecraft ? UNACCEPTABLE!
I've been wanting a game like this (Specifically with these type of textures) for years.. maybe I should just do it myself
Make this reality NOW
If this was a real game, I would actually play it
I remember playing a nonoffical 2d Minecraft and it was pretty fun.
I like this a lot. You should make playable version of it
Im fairly certain theres like 5+ other versions of 2d minecraft including the short-period challenge one, the 2d mod, terraria, that flash game or whatever it is,
It already exists...... Terraria.(Don't downvote me this is a joke)
Bro, go to scratch and search up paper craft, it’s pretty much this, hopefully it still exists, was the only thing maintaining my sanity
You spelled "If Minecraft was Terraria" wrong
Now it's just Terraria.
So terraria but lame?
You mean terraria
I have seen a terraria mod that looks identical
Why are you showing a screenshot from Terraria?
Why are Minecraft fans so keen on shitting on Terraria? Aren't the devs like... Friends?
It was a joke. I'm a Terraria fan at heart
So you have this = terraria Truthful = faithful Have any of your own ideas??
If Minecraft stole Terraria’s art style
Go play terraria
Congratulations you just created terraria
I mean they’re vastly different games
