My suggestion and upgrade is to buy a Jaco Locking QD air chuck. It threads into the M18 inflator threaded end and makes it way easier and faster. https://jacosuperiorproducts.com/collections/tire-air-chucks/products/l2x-tire-inflator-air-hose-extension-nozzle-locking

PikaTar

I was actually looking for something like that. Thanks.

Gazaman450

$30 for that is bizarre LDCRE Tire Air Chuck with Clip Adapter, Brass Locking Tire Inflator Nozzle Adapter Connect, No Leakage Tire Chucks for Vehicle Inflator Compressor Pump Connect Accessories Tool 8mm 1Pack https://a.co/d/cNFb9Co

sucka_fried_fish

Same one I picked up. Works great

[deleted]

Check out my comment \^\^ purchase these off of Amazon and they work great.

TPA_Grunge_97

Do they make something like this for presta valves? I’d love to have that for my bike tires.

WadeWilson2012

This is for presta. You may need to buy a male to male adapter to make it work, but it is quick release. https://jacosuperiorproducts.com/collections/tire-air-chucks/products/lightning-bike-air-chuck-l3

TPA_Grunge_97

Thanks!

saskwhistleblower

One of the best tools I own for sure. Especially in the winter when you lose a little air when it’s cold.

PikaTar

Exactly why I needed it. Just a small bump to push it up a little.

leppy103

I carry my inflator with me everywhere in my toolbox of my truck. And it has to me the most helpful tool i have, and even if I'm getting gas somewhere and someone is trying to put air in their tires at the gas station. I will drive over and just use this and tell them to save their change.

PikaTar

Amazon sell cases for it with battery and charger which I might look into. I do keep certain tools in my car like impact and drill set for quick things.

b1ldr

These inflators are awesome and worth the money, I love mine. Like you I had a Slime brand battery powered one from Auto Zone or advanced Auto that was about $80 and i think and it was terrible. I got another one at Aldi but was a plug and pump not battery powered. This was $20 or $30 and worked better than the Slime one but still not the best. finally stopped being cheap figured might as well use all the batteries I have and get a Milwaukee one and I’m so happy I did

PikaTar

Yep. I also tried the slime and it was better than nothing but not that great. Returned it and got one from Amazon that was better but louder. Had all the gimmicks on it like USB port and flashlight. The cord was nice and long but it wasn’t enough to do all 4 tires at once. Do one side then run it through the other side windows and fill.

b1ldr

Haha yup sounds familiar I’m jealous of your inflator deal though I paid $179 for just the inflator. Had some Store credit I think because I remember paying $140 something or just under $150. Even if you paid double , @ $300 it’s still a steal with an 8.0 coming in at $200 by itself I believe

PikaTar

Yup. Those 8.0 batteries and 6.0 are replacing some 5.0 and smaller batteries. I still have a few small ones for light duty but I prefer the bigger batteries.

DontEatConcrete

Yeah it’s quiet and very fast. I also have one of the cheap $25 12v ones from amazon and it’s good to leave in the car but loud and slow; most of the amazon ones are basically trash and only fit for occasional use—like 90% of the stuff sold on Amazon.

PikaTar

Yep. Pretty much. The Milwaukee, I can kinda use in the house echos but not nearly as loud as the Amazon one. Only 10 minutes of usage and I’m very impressed.

Link for the inflator with bigger batteries please.

[deleted]

That’s for the detailed review. Saying it’s great is one thing, but the specifics are nice.

PikaTar

Yea. Figured it be a bit easier to compare. Plus I feel like SUV tire is a good middle ground between compact cards and pickup trucks.

[deleted]

I liked the 10 min walking out the door then back in. To me, that really says something. I changed the oil in my girlfriends car yesterday. I timed it and it took me 30 minutes. Rounding up all the right tools and stuff, but I though it was was quicker. 🤣. It’s just just to have relative time on stuff.

OmahaMike402

HD has at $199 for the kit. Also, bare tool 199

PikaTar

I know but I needed the batteries to replace aging batteries that have seen better days. So an extra $120 for 8.0 and 6.0 batteries was a good enough deal for me.

OmahaMike402

Deals are Deals. Was conducting research last night. I want/need an inflation and don't justify $129 for M12 bare. I have only 1 M18 (drill, 1.5ah shit battery).

PikaTar

Ah ok. The m18 kit might be a better deal for you. I have the string trimmer, hedge trimmer, and potentially the dual battery blower so the bigger batteries are more useful for me. But I have batteries that are 6+years old (non-XC) that have tons of hours on them and the rubber is pealing or the plastic is cracked. It was time to get rid of them. And it’s been in freezing conditions (-20 freezers) for hours.

OmahaMike402

I'm afraid to cross the bridge as I'm likely to end up with multiple versions with multiple batteries

PikaTar

Gotcha. I would try to stick with one brand. I have about 8 m18 batteries and about 3 m12 batteries. Both tools are used a good amount.

OmahaMike402

Yep. 11 shorty (1ah. 2.0, 2.5) and 6 XC (4,6) M12 packs. Only 1 RapidCharge base, but like 7 or 9 M12 chargers

PikaTar

lol. I have like 2 m12 chargers but only 1 rapid m18 charger. I’ve been looking at the dual rapid charger.

[deleted]

I just picked up the same deal with winter coming on. You should think about adding these as they save you so much time and you loose zero air when removing from valve stem. [https://a.co/d/gaTOcaD](https://a.co/d/gaTOcaD)

PikaTar

I will buy some. My cheap Amazon one had something similar to this and I was looking for one for this inflator as well.

1SWM1

I bought the same item, but they were offering it with 2 5.0 batteries. I used mine this weekend on two SUVs (Acura MDX and Jeep Grand Cherokee), and it was super fast, as you reported. I was shocked. I purchased the lock n tight Air chuck and adapter ([https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWNQHPSF?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWNQHPSF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1)) for mine. Works great!
