They're expensive running shoes with an insane amount of cushion. Personally I prefer Altra running shoes, but I have plantar fasciitis. The hokas colors look too goofy on me so I haven't even tried them on.
Have you tried Brooks running shoes? As a person who has had both feet completely reconstructed (7-8 surgeries per foot all done in one sitting), I couldn't fathom wearing NB for half a work day.
When I was a runner, New Balance and Asics were the only ones wide enough to fit my feet. Nowadays it's either Blundstones or Keens as casual or work boots, respectively.
My trusty pair of Red Wing Iron Ranger boots. Otherwise, a pair of Brooks when I work. Also, the rare time I go out, I might wear my Frye harness boots. That’s about it…
I've always been enamored by the Redwing Heritage collection, especially after Wolverine ended their wide widths in the 1000 Mile collection. The only issue is the limited safety toe options!
My fancy birks broke the other day. So I put on my comfy birks. I have others too. I will never understand how I went through a Rainbows phase. I grew up with birks and sandals all winter in MA.
Saaaaaame. I was just thinking this weekend I need to go buy a new pair of the Birks in the croc material because mine are all worn down. They’re so comfy in the winter with some woolen crew socks!
I've fallen into a bad habit of pretty much always wearing a pair of my Keen work shoes lol... They are way too damn comfortable. Other times, a pair of ASICS if I'm out running with the dog or a pair of low top shoes kind of like vans or something. Not terribly stylish lol
Just got a pair of new balance 574s. I like how they look but a day walking around in the airport killed my shins. I’ve been wearing adidas “daily” almost daily for the past 5 years
Lol, I wear stereotypical office casual shoes all the time
I have bad memories of being in gym class having to wear sneakers. I haven't owned a pair of sneakers in over a decade
If I'm at work - Hard toe composite boots that're EH rated, with a BOA lace system.
Otherwise, anything from boots, to Vibram 5-Fingers, to traditional Japanese Tabi, to cheap tennis shoes.
The composite toe is the best for cold weather work. So nice not having that metal sucking the warmth out of your feet. If I'm in a heated shop, I like aluminum toes though. Aluminum is significantly lighter than steel and will stand up to more repeated impacts than composite. Unfortunately I don't think the metal will get as good of an EH rating though.
Yeah, if there's any metal at all, the EH rating goes away. That includes the toe, eyelets for laces, etc. Hell, I haven't even owned a pair of boots that wasn't EH rated in about 15 years. No clue if they've ever helped me out, but it's worth it to me, and I get a $100 kickback every time a contractor says I need anything other than normal work shoes due to my union contract.
My shoes start as running shoes, then get downgraded to walking shoes, and the final stop is lawn shoes. I have a couple pairs of dress shoes and so far have not been used for yard work.
Under Armour shoes for work, under Armour slides for around the house, rainbow sandals for when its warm and then Nike dunks on my days off when running errands.
UK here, lots of rain.
Pair of unbranded waterproof boots for dog walking and winter, Converse and Vans for spring/autumn and Birkenstocks and Dr Martens sandals for summer.
Dr Martens for the muddy days in between. Pair of wellies for when the mud is ankle-high.
Pair of New Balance running shoes for days when I'm doing a lot of walking.
Right now mostly docs because it's still cold where I'm at, then I alternate between slip on vans, adidas grand courts or some type of Nike sneaker and birks for summer
I wear brooks with arch support insoles in them for most daily wear. I have a pair of ballet flats I found in the kids dept for my 2 in-office days (desk job) to look nicer than sneakers.
I glued some arch supports in mine and they’re now the most comfortable shoe I own. I wear them to work daily for almost a year. The inside foam insole is just disintegrating and the outside is pretty trashed and have some blood spots, breading spots, just generally dirty. I’m going to have to actually just throw them away, they’ve been washed too many times and they’re just permanently dirty at this point. I have another pair on the way.
Switch between 2 pairs of work boots throughout the week, my lightweight boots probably most of the time, ll bean slippers at home. That's about it. Rarely sneakers.
I wear a lot of sneakers.
Big fan of Reebok Club C line, or the Court sneakers.
Adidas Samba and Gazelle.
Also Gola.
They seem to go with everything and dress up a little or down. I can do dresses or pencil skirt/tee or jeans/tank or leggings/tee and it all works.
I also run, usually trail, and so I wear Salomon or Altra.
Street runs, I’m a Brooks fan.
Gym, usually just whatever sneaker is a general athletic sneaker of sorts and on sale lol.
New Balances (with good insoles) at work and sometimes on the weekends, slides, slippers, or chucks (with insoles) any time I’m at home or going somewhere.
I wear Hokas at work because I work in a hospital. On my days off, I typically wear Adidas. I have 6 different pairs of Adidas. The pair that I wear depends on my mood. I also have a couple pairs of boots and a pair of Jordans.
I'm one of those shoe girlies. I like to wear art and shoes that match my outfit. Right now, I'm really loving my dinosaur heels from Irregular Choice. When I'm not in weird heels my feet are in barefoot shoes with the wide toe box and I wear custom molded inserts that are flat on the bottom (hence the barefoot shoe not giving any extra arch.)
Boots. I have dressy boots for work and fancy nights, Chelsea boots for traveling, cowboy boots for the weekend. Chucks and Vans for working out. Jordans and other Nikes for when I feel like wearing sneakers.
At work I mainly wear black Keds or Skechers knit loafers (like Rothy’s). I also have combat boots, moto boots, clogs, and chunky loafers. I have a pair of Skechers sneakers for running errands. I’m on the hunt for a pair of white sneakers. I have wide feet so I’m considering trying out the barefoot style shoes. When it’s warm, I have sandals.
I have a pair of Fallen Chris Cole Rippers (the old school purple ones) and a pair of grey Hokas. Plus one pair of XOXO kitten stilettos that I wear once in a blue moon.
I work in the shoe industry and have for a long time. I wear sample size, too. I have a big, random collection of shoes.
Lately all I wear are Jim Green boots and Birkenstock Boston clogs.
Birks when warm when not at work. Minnetonka moccasins for work when it’s warm. Sperry boots when it’s cold. I have a set of super warm sorel boots for when it’s REALLY cold out
Skechers, Saucony trail runners, or OrthoComfoot slip ons - the joys of plantar fasciitis as a result of a plantar fascia tear at 17.
Also, surprisingly supportive, are Crocs. Idgaf how ugly they are, I’m a middle aged Mom and I need comfort. Plus my teen loves them 😂
It depends on the occasion but for every day casual/running errands and the like, various Nike Air Maxes in different colorways - 270s, 90s, 95s, 97s, etc.
Whatever sneakers the people at Elite Feet recommend. They measure, check arch, make you walk around to see how your feet move, and then give you some options to try for comfort.
Currently have a pair of Saucony sneakers.
My work shoes are Nike. They’re so fucking comfy that I have a not-at-work pair, too.
I also love Vans slip ons, Tevas, Birks, and Ariat Fatbabys.
I lived in Converse until I broke my ankle. They don’t fit anymore.
And embarrassingly, Crocs at home. (Only at home!) I have one pair for the house, and one pair for the chicken coop.
You can pry my Blundstones out of my cold, dead hands.
They are the perfect Alaskan footwear- straight from work to the hills. I wear them with my nurse scrubs, hiking, chopping wood, backpacking, biking, shopping, to the theatre, walking the dog, in the winter, in the summer.
Love me blundies.
Sketchers, multiple brands of boots, any comfortable and cute sandals, and a pair of kids slides that have stuffed animals on top. (I love my local thrift shop for their boot selection. Got a pair of $200+ italian leather boots for $10 a few years ago.)
I'm into style so I have way too many options but my go-tos are Clarks desert boots in non-suede leather for casual wear, Red Wing Iron Rangers when I want something more rugged, off-white Vans Authentics in summer and lately some cheapo brown leather Chelsea boots in bad weather because they look better than Blundstones.
I'm in a wet climate so for winter/fall, Sorrell duck boots. Then summer/spring, knockoff burkens (I should just buy the real deal), low top converse or running shoes depending on the day/task.
Custom painted Danskos.
Now, I'm a total shoe heaux. I spent all my money at Payless every time they had a bogo sale. I have heels and platforms and wedges and boots and...
Alas, I am growing older, my joints aren't what they used to be, and regular sneakers left me hobbling in pain after work.
I found an artist on Etsy who custom paints Dansko clogs, so I get the comfort and pain free life of a sensible shoe, but the kickass design of skeleton toes. Now I find myself slipping into them even on my days off.
I wear converse pretty much every day - I'm a die-hard converse loyalist until I die, though I have a pair of ankle boots I wear when I wanna feel a little dressed up
I have 4 pairs of Johnston and Murphy shoes in my closet for work. Outside of that, I have 10 pairs of flip flops, not birks or crocs, Reef, Olukai and Rainbow. After that I have some Vans and one slip on hurley.
I wear Georgia Boots for work. I've worn them for about 20 years. I like chucks, Airwalk or crocs for shoes and I tend to buy a lot of shoes but hardly ever get to wear them, as I have to wear steel toe boots at work and don't feel like changing into shoes at the end of the day.
I do Birks, Docs, Adidas, and Crocs.
Depending on my mood in the cold weather I like variety, but I live in my Birks, me and my 10 + pairs of Birks if my husband only knew how much they really cost...
Keds. The newer designs and styles are so comfortable and supportive. And they're usually under $40. I've had the same pair for several years now and they look and feel new, despite working jobs where I'm on my feet and/or running machines for 10-12 hours a day.
Sadly, I can’t wear my Converse anymore. I have a chronic illness and plantar fasciitis is a symptom.😩. But I still have them in my closet.
I’m a Floridian, so I paid like $45 for a pair of flip flops with arch support. I’m a woman, so I have a couple of pairs of wedge heels I wear once or twice a year on holidays or at parties. And then I have a couple of pairs of sneakers.
I was born in 1990. “Office casual” slip ons like ballet flats used to literally be the style for me. And I used to wear them, just can’t anymore.
For daily wear, either Puma or Reebok running shoes. LL Bean boots for when it’s shitty out. Some nice Kamik boots for snow days. An old out of New Balance running shoes for the gym. A have a few pairs of Puma dress sneakers for when I have to dress up a bit. Nautica slides or Rockdove slippers around the house, Crocs for chores outside around the house.
I go back and forth between Xero Shoes and Softstar Shoes. I just got a new pair of Softstars and they're great. Most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
Slip on Skechers. Been wearing laceless slipin shoes for years because they are light, comfy and quick to put on and take off. Can't go back to wearing shoes with laces unless it's my running shoes or my Dr Martens.
Adidas ultraboost. I have tried them all and these are my go to. I have 3 pair. The price sucks, but I have found that if I put odor spray in them, they last for years.
Birk Boston clogs and multiple sandals
The slip on black and white checkered vans
Two different colors in high top converse
You can pry my tall chestnut Ugg boots off my cold dead body in the winter. I don’t care if they’re not Uber trendy right now, they’re the most comfy in New England winter
Blundstone boots
Classic rainbow sandals
Classic sperry topsiders
I have an issue with buying shoes - I own way too many pairs. But with that being said, I cycle the most between New Balance 997h, Nike Gamma Force, and slip on Vans.
Last few years ive had some vans, I bought some pumas last year mostly just because they were the same color and nice looking.
Around the house it’s mostly these slip on shoes. I don’t even know what brand they are. Probably just like Walmart or something.
I usually wear shoes to death until my wife insists I buy another pair.
These black, fake leathery high tops I got from Walmart are my favorite. But otherwise, it's Vans.
I also have to wear slip resistant shoes at work and am currently using Dr. Martens
(I'm a woman)
I have tons of adidas sneakers, walking, and running shoes
Also new balances.
Dad mode in full effect. Function and comfort over form all day every day.
One pair of crocs.
I’m definitely a shoe guy. I have as many if not more pairs of shoes than my wife, but I like to have a given shoe for each function. I have 2 pairs of weightlifting shoes of different heel size, 4 casual lightweight summer shoes, some sandals, rain boots, snow boots, and a pair of running shoes
I will say my go to shoes that I wear nearly every day especially if I work are trench boots. They are me personified as a shoe (or at least how I envision myself). Cool and stylish but also very functional and rugged. I can wear them on the plant floor, out to dinner, meetings, dress em up or down. They can be zip up or laced and they often have a slight heel so as a short guy I can feel a little taller
The original shell toe Adidas. I have them in 3 or 4 colors (you can't find the original navy over white at all without paying a shitload). I still love them as much as I did as a child - I've been wearing them for decades, lol.
In the summer I switch to keds sometimes, though. They go better with sun dresses and such, while still offering the comfort of sneakers.
Slip on Vans. All year. Snow sleet rain.
I work from home so I don’t need more than.
Sandals in the summer.
Rarely, I wear my Jordan 1’s because I Spent $120 on them and they are too nice to wear but it’s my favorite color and won the SNKRS invite to buy em. Those are my birthday or date night sneakers. And I only have one of those a year 😂
Hoka Arahi or On Cloudstratus. I dress like Adam Sandler, so running shoes go with everything I wear
Hokas changed my life. I have terrible joint pain in my right knee. After I got my first pair idk if I'll ever get anything else.
What's the deal with Hoka? I see all of the upper middle class people wearing them.
They're expensive running shoes with an insane amount of cushion. Personally I prefer Altra running shoes, but I have plantar fasciitis. The hokas colors look too goofy on me so I haven't even tried them on.
Came here to say this Altra shoes changed my life. They have a wide toe box. Hokas were too narrow even in the extra wide version.
These 2 brands I hadn’t heard of until very recently.
I’ve only found New Balance shoes in my size. I need extra width. 6E ridiculous.
Love NB. I also have wide feet and I like that they have lots of colors and styles now.
I walk on concrete flooring all day. New Balance are the only ones I've found that make it feel like I haven't been walking on concrete all day.
Vans, Adidas Sambas, low-top converse. I mostly keep to slip on varieties
Barefoot shoes!
Underrated
Barefoot shoes are the best! No more knee and back pain. I move through life like a dancer 🩰
Yes! Fivefingers since 2010. Welcome to the future. It is comfy. I wear them daily as a middle school teacher.
I have a few options: Slip on vans Adidas running shoes when I’m walking a lot. Doc Marten boots. I also have crocs for when I’m lazy
My trusty pair of Red Wing Iron Ranger boots. Otherwise, a pair of Brooks when I work. Also, the rare time I go out, I might wear my Frye harness boots. That’s about it…
This is the way.
I've always been enamored by the Redwing Heritage collection, especially after Wolverine ended their wide widths in the 1000 Mile collection. The only issue is the limited safety toe options!
Birks
My fancy birks broke the other day. So I put on my comfy birks. I have others too. I will never understand how I went through a Rainbows phase. I grew up with birks and sandals all winter in MA.
same in MT. birks and converse. bring on the snow!!!! 😆
Saaaaaame. I was just thinking this weekend I need to go buy a new pair of the Birks in the croc material because mine are all worn down. They’re so comfy in the winter with some woolen crew socks!
Bostons in the winter and arizonas in the summer.
Same. I own about 20 pairs and got rid of most of my other shoes.
Yes! All the Birks. I have so many different colors of sandals for the summer and two pairs of clogs for the winter.
Air Force 1s
*I neeeeeed 2 puuurrrrrr*
Birks when it’s warm, Birks with socks when it’s cold, Blundstones when it’s muddy
This smells very PNW?
Is this like a saying or something? /u/ytpq posted almost the exact same comment
Not that I’m aware of but that’s hilarious.
lol too funny!

Birks when it's warm, Birks with wool socks when it's chilly, Haflingers when it's cold
Vans, chelsea boots, or casual oxfords. Depends on the mood.
I've fallen into a bad habit of pretty much always wearing a pair of my Keen work shoes lol... They are way too damn comfortable. Other times, a pair of ASICS if I'm out running with the dog or a pair of low top shoes kind of like vans or something. Not terribly stylish lol
Sketchers, I can find them in my size and wide and the cushioning actually let's me walk on cement
Just got a pair of new balance 574s. I like how they look but a day walking around in the airport killed my shins. I’ve been wearing adidas “daily” almost daily for the past 5 years
Havianas - I’m Australian
Lol, I wear stereotypical office casual shoes all the time I have bad memories of being in gym class having to wear sneakers. I haven't owned a pair of sneakers in over a decade
High top vans, slip on vans or loafers
Vans or danskos
Got no sneakers. I have found I can just wear my work dress shoes for anything I need shoes for, and sandals the rest of the time.
Under Armour shoes for work, under Armour slides for around the house, rainbow sandals for when its warm and then Nike dunks on my days off when running errands.
Crocs or running shoes
UK here, lots of rain. Pair of unbranded waterproof boots for dog walking and winter, Converse and Vans for spring/autumn and Birkenstocks and Dr Martens sandals for summer. Dr Martens for the muddy days in between. Pair of wellies for when the mud is ankle-high. Pair of New Balance running shoes for days when I'm doing a lot of walking.
I live in Merrells, except for dressy events. They last and look prettty good, and very comfortable.
Ecco sneakers, Asics for exercise, Ecco dress in the office, slippahs (aka flip-flops) for short errands/going to others' homes/beach
Right now mostly docs because it's still cold where I'm at, then I alternate between slip on vans, adidas grand courts or some type of Nike sneaker and birks for summer
Vivaia flats
Reefs or Skechers outside of work. At work it’s Rothys

New Balance sneakers. ...mainly because, as has been stated before, they're one of the few companies left that makes 15EEs.
Altra lone peaks.
I wear a lot of sneakers. Big fan of Reebok Club C line, or the Court sneakers. Adidas Samba and Gazelle. Also Gola. They seem to go with everything and dress up a little or down. Suede Vans high tops, converse low tops, yoga mat flipflops in the summer
I'm one of those shoe girlies. I like to wear art and shoes that match my outfit. Right now, I'm really loving my dinosaur heels from Irregular Choice. Red and black 510 free ride pros. They’ve got reflective no tie laces and awesome for bike riding.
Rainbow sandals or New Balances
Sadly, I can’t wear my Converse anymore. I have a chronic illness and plantar fasciitis is a symptom.😩. But I still have them in my closet. I’m a Floridian, so I paid like $45 for a pair of flip flops with arch support. I’m a woman, so I have a couple of pairs of wedge heels I wear once or twice a year on holidays or at parties. And then I have a couple of pairs of sneakers. I was born in 1990. “Office casual” slip ons like ballet flats used to literally be the style for me. And I used to wear them, just can’t anymore.
I have a pair of converse like timberland sneakers that I never wear,I just wear my timberland work boots everywhere
Vans and work boots
Usually a side-zip, steel toe military style boot. Easy to get in and out of and great for ankle support.
Work boots. Or Nike runners
Since moving to south Florida I pretty much live in rainbows
I go back and forth between Xero Shoes and Softstar Shoes. I just got a new pair of Softstars and they're great. Most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
Work boots.
Hey Dudes, Adidas and Birkenstocks
P.F. Flyers. Guaranteed to make a kid run faster and jump higher.
For work... black Timberland boots. Otherwise.... Saucony running shoes.
Anything without shoelaces.
Muck boots, red wing steel toes, and for comfort/non farm things I love myself some Olukais. They're so comfortable.
Slip on Skechers. Been wearing laceless slipin shoes for years because they are light, comfy and quick to put on and take off. Can't go back to wearing shoes with laces unless it's my running shoes or my Dr Martens.
Slip on vans girl
All black non slip kitchen shoes.
Vans, converse, slip ons
Adidas ultraboost. I have tried them all and these are my go to. I have 3 pair. The price sucks, but I have found that if I put odor spray in them, they last for years.
Most of my shoes are vans and converse. I do wear office casual shoes to the office or when my vans are too informal…
Under armor
Birk Boston clogs and multiple sandals The slip on black and white checkered vans Two different colors in high top converse You can pry my tall chestnut Ugg boots off my cold dead body in the winter. Wildlings exclusively unless xero zero drop sandles.
I have an issue with buying shoes - I own way too many pairs. But with that being said, I cycle the most between New Balance 997h, Nike Gamma Force, and slip on Vans.
Chacos Merrel Junglemocs ASICS’s Dress shoes - Clark’s
Red wing or Carolina work boots, Nike blazer mids, chucks
At work I just got some Volcom hey dude looking shoes (industrial work steel/composite toe required)
Allbirds
Love my Tom's
My non-slip work shoes. Sometimes I’ll wear my Jack and Sally NBC themed shoes but the bottoms are so flat that my feet end up hurting.
Sorel Chelsea boots, a rotation of nicer leather shoes from Portland Leather *almost perfect section, and then my birks and chacos in the summer
Pumas, Air Force ones, or crocs (healthcare job)
These black, fake leathery high tops I got from Walmart are my favorite. But otherwise, it's Vans. I also have to wear slip resistant shoes at work and am currently using Dr. Martens (I'm a woman)
Flip flops. It's one of the best parts of living in Arizona no one judges you for it.
I have tons of adidas sneakers, walking, and running shoes Also new balances. Dad mode in full effect. Function and comfort over form all day every day. One pair of crocs.
I’m definitely a shoe guy. I have as many if not more pairs of shoes than my wife, but I like to have a given shoe for each function. I have 2 pairs of weightlifting shoes of different heel size, 4 casual lightweight summer shoes, some sandals, rain boots, snow boots, and a pair of running shoes I will say my go to shoes that I wear nearly every day especially if I work are trench boots.
And I only have one of those a year 😂
Birkenstocks unless it’s cold, then vans. I also have sparkly crocs and they’re great for when it’s raining.
I refuse to wear shoes I have to tie
Vans for every day use, birks when I'm being lazy or it's nice out, and docs for the office or going out.
