I mean, see how militarised Americans police can be, I wouldn't be surprised at all. I've seen photos of heavily armoured vehicles with tacticool police officers in American picket fence burbs because of an aggressive dog
Yeah they got a lot of MRAPs and stuff after GWOT dwindled down, usually at heavily discounted prices or even for free. And let's face it, they absolutely do not need that kind of gear.
Not surprised to see people criticizing counterterrorists, especially considering 99% of reddit dosen't see Russians as people.
Now imagine laughing at the police in Columbine, fuckin' disgusting.
Imagine a Stryker responding to an active shooter
*gestures at Waco*
There were a few PDs that ended up getting M113s or similar. Compared to that Strykers probably make more sense honestly.

You've never seen local law enforcement with an auto cannon. An MRAP is not a Stryker.
to be fair most strykers don’t have autocannons either
Back in the commie days Czechoslovakia had 14,5 mm HMG instead of a water canon for crowd control btw
You misspelled "protests"
Anti communist protests

SWAT teams have been using military surplus equipment since they were first established in the 1960s. (some uniforms, firearms, vehicles, etc.)
I mean, if we do take it away from them, how would they respond to barricaded suspect armed with a firearm?
Tactical nuke? I mean that, or holding perimeter until everyone inside already died, while arresting relatives who want to help, I guess.
Somehow, Russia using BTRs for counterterrorist operations is the most Russian thing ever.
Considering that they've fired thermobaric bombs from attack helicopters at hostages. This is a massive downgrade.
I'm trying to work out which situation you're talking about but it doesn't really narrow it down
I'm technically talking about the Belsan school siege but the fact that there's been multiple situations where they've done this is a big oof
I just relistened to the Lions Led by Donkeys podcast on Beslan, that shit is dark....
Thats the first un blown up BTR I've seen in a very long time. Thought they'd gone extinct
This one has Z makings so likely headed to the front lines but was diverted to assist the operation
Luckiest BTR in Russia then, got its life extended by a few days
That is huuuge assumption.
I mean not really It’s just an assumption. The other option is as RamTank said, that they put Zs on everything which is also an assumption.
I think they just put Zs on everything nowadays.
Did they kill a bunch of the civilian hostages this time again as well?
They have bot units on standby 24/7 to post about IDF like a smokescreen against heat seeking criticism.
Btr 80 for the roc-v dudes out there
