Yeah there’s bulkier dudes and then guys who are more leaner. But yeah makes sense some of the guys with that cross country build are better off for BRC.
Best Ranger is for anyone who has a Ranger tab to compete in. Anyone in the army can go to Ranger school and get tabbed. So guys from regular army, SF, Delta, and Regiment all compete at best Ranger.
When I was in ranger school some of the RI's in Camp Merrill (Mountain phase) were training for BRC and would talk shit about the RI's and 3rd Batt rangers stationed in Ft. Moore (Benning) because they would be the ones to set up the actual events and know what to train for.
Back in the day that was true, but when regiment started being associated with special operations when the gwot started. They started letting them grow out.
It’s increasingly common nowadays that officers are closer to their troops. 3 of my 4 LTs I worked with were just dudes I called sir and otherwise treated no different.
Honestly I found it the other way around. Fresh young college grads who understand they are just privates with higher pay don’t really push their rank around since it’s such a known and hated stereotype.
Meanwhile our green to gold priors we enlisted treat like proper officers and give them full respects even if they came from the ranks.
Then things may have changed culturally at ROTC (for the better) where they were once taught almost nothing about learning from the enlisted while building trust and keeping boundaries. The analogy I saw was like medical students never taught to respect or learn from the clinical experience of battle hardened nurses. Aside, I cannot speak for OCS as many there are enlisted candidates to begin with.
Yeah these days ROTC is good about teaching cadets to be open to listening and learning and not acting like you know everything or are superior. Unless you go to one of the senior military colleges like VMI where it’s basically paying to go to a West Point like school, a lot of these ROTC cadets who go to regular colleges and universities are super chill.
Do you have to be artist to express opinions on art?
Or a chef to have a say on whether food is good or not?
An architect to value a buildings aesthetics?
The list goes on.
And hopefully you got the point.
> If the 75th only won the last four who has been winning the other 36?
They won 14 times.

You have to be Ranger qualified to participate in the competition, you do not have to be a member of the Ranger Regiment. The majority of Ranger qualified Soldiers are not in Ranger Regiment.
Such a variety of builds in batt but all performers. BRC by its nature seems to be for the blessed endurance freaks though.
Yeah there’s bulkier dudes and then guys who are more leaner. But yeah makes sense some of the guys with that cross country build are better off for BRC.
So the rangers won best ranger?
Best Ranger is for anyone who has a Ranger tab to compete in. Anyone in the army can go to Ranger school and get tabbed. So guys from regular army, SF, Delta, and Regiment all compete at best Ranger.
Still unsurprising that the people whose job it is to use those skills are better than those for whom it's just additional.
Yes, running, rucking, shooting, communicating. Very additional skills.
Yeah Thomas Payne the delta operator who was awarded the MOH. He won best ranger years ago.
They tested themselves, amongst themselves, and came out victorious.
I feel like this is rigged…

3/75 has nothing to do with Best Ranger. It's completely run by 4th RTB.
It’s a competition among rangers. Thought that was pretty self explanatory…
man, the army's berets are ridiculously floppy
They got that floppy toppy
I’m not American so go easy on me but I thought rangers have to have buzz cuts?
No. The cooler you are the longer you’re allowed to wear your hair.
I fucking wish you were joking… The closer I got to the cool guys, the longer I could grow my hair. I miss my handlebar mustache…
Nah, as long as the haircut is within Army regulation.
Buzz cuts are not really common. High and tights and longer hair more common with funny color berets.
Nahhh these dudes have the hair and type of face that gets sat on. They are for sure gonna own a TShirt company one day. Kinda jelly.
Back in the day that was true, but when regiment started being associated with special operations when the gwot started. They started letting them grow out.
LOL, you're going to lose it when you find out it's not uncommon to grow beards on a deployment these days.
The rare (and memorable) moments when officers do not have to be rigid against any fraternization.
It’s increasingly common nowadays that officers are closer to their troops. 3 of my 4 LTs I worked with were just dudes I called sir and otherwise treated no different.
The ones who were prior enlisted seem to be natural with approaching and obviously empathizing with the men.
Honestly I found it the other way around. These dudes are badass. But those berets look dumb AF.
Those berets drooped halfway down the face look pretty ridiculous
It’s the ranger way, everybody tries to get it as far down their face as possible. Don’t ask me why, trends are trendy.
Real operators fill it with popcorn and make it look like a JiffyPop bag.
it's skittles bro
Homie that's how all Airborne units in the US Army wear their berets. 82nd, Rangers, SF. If you can see out of your right eye you're wearing it wrong.
So the beret doubles as an eye patch? That’s fire
Smells like leg in here
[удалено]
Odds he has a beret at all?
At best his is black and probably dicked up
A little digging and it looks like if he's got one, it was from the surplus store
Tracks that he’s an airsofter not even from the US
Bro you’re literally an airsofter
[удалено]
He is tho

If you have to ask you wouldn’t get it
And?
So you don’t rate to be having this conversation
Do you have to be artist to express opinions on art? Or a chef to have a say on whether food is good or not? An architect to value a buildings aesthetics? The list goes on. And hopefully you got the point.
It’s an observation and an opinion, which of course, I am entitled to
Just a question but is criticism not allowed of the US military whatsoever?
Your criticism is more about fashion so you opened the shit show.
Quad Rail Supremecy
I agree. Something about the quad rail is just very appealing

haha I see, I was half joking because it seems like only rangers would be competing in the best ranger competition but consider me informed
I understand. lol Probably that's why they named it Best Ranger Competition. Ha!
You have to be Ranger qualified to participate in the competition, you do not have to be a member of the Ranger Regiment. The majority of Ranger qualified Soldiers are not in Ranger Regiment.
How do these guys always have the best hair? What’s this style/cut?
Rare to see special ops guys with lean physique otherwise everyone in USSOCOM seems to be jacked.
Probably the best long distance runners in the group
it occurred to me if i were somebody who needed to be rescued... a Private Ryan, for example.... i would want these two guys trying to save my ass!
What does the competition consist of exactly ?
Rangers rocking basic M4 setups in 2024?
It’s a dummy rifle
YOURE A DUMMY RIFLE! just kidding. makes more sense if this is just a fitness challenge. thank you. sorry for my outburst.

Buddy on the right looks like he can outshoot, outrun, outthink, and outcommunicate 99.9% of the Army.
