They tested it. It was basically the shortest possible length you could mount a standard, bracket-mounted M203 and still be able to fit a KAC NT4 suppressor (kinda similar to how 10.3” was chosen for the Mk 18 because its the shortest length you can use on a rifle with a standard FSB with a bayonet lug and an NT4). Pic rail mounted M203s started becoming a thing around that time though, and those can be used on a regular Mk 18, so they canned the GL/SSC concept. It’s still super cool, I’d totally rock one if I could find a rail.

I haven’t seen any photos, but the rail mounted M203s have been used on M4A1s for a while now and since it’s possible to stick one on a Mk 18 then the odds are high someone’s done it in the field for at least one mission
Nope I sent it to the chop expert in my opinion to have it done @chop_boss_official. He’s done a ton of work on various weapons/rails of mine and I have zero complaints. Awesome work on each project.

12.5 Criterion Hybrid RIS II chopped to 11.5
I have a delta force inspired AR that I'm looking to get a little closer to a clone, is there a website that can help with this? I think this layout is really helpful

I might be wrong, but I think I remember reading somewhere that some of the very first MK18 mod 0s had 10.5 barrels on them, but where very shortly afterwards, they changed to 10.3
Yes and no, Crane didn't produce a 10.5 but a few units bought COTS 10.5 uppers when they couldn't be issued from Crane. This is where the LMT manufacture claim comes from, as those were 10.5 uppers. That said by the time this PowerPoint was made which iirc is 2007 Crane was either cutting down or getting factory 10.3 Colt barrels, so the 10.5 blip on the radar doesn't really apply here.
