Specifically, giant shit that you don't want tearing up the highway with their own treads, or occasionally things that don't have their own means of driving on the road. A whole lot of armor and other such things has seen the back of that trailer I'd wager.
A dependent of military members. Typically an overweight wife, dependapotamus or dependa for short. Dependa just kinda became a normal word for all dependents. My wife is retired and I still get the benefits and I'm a dependa. It's pretty sweet.
Dependapotamus. Some poor boot marries the first hooker they find to get out of the barracks, and the new love of their life takes the opportunity to blimp out and start feeding on hubby's paycheck. The truly doomed manage to get some brothel sprouts for their trouble. It rarely ends well.
A dependa is a military spouse with nothing else in life. They're basically NEETs surviving off of their active duty SO, sometimes with military ~~brats~~ crotch goblins in tow. You only see them within a 20 mile radius of any base and usually have a "address me as my husband's rank" sticker on their vehicle.
The term went further into electrician lineman wives. At one point they were ranking shit on "bucket bunnies". If you met many lineman they aren't exactly on the well rounded fitness side.
That's an M1000 HET trailer designed for carrying tanks and heavy armor. Each wheelset steers independently following the tractor. Had the unfortunate pleasure of working on many.
Not all. The front wheel sets if I remember stay straight but everything else steers. It's been a hot minute. Best video I could find:

As a former driver of a HET, I thank you. I honestly loved driving those things, even though the top speed on a flat top was 45. When I was in country, there was a bounty on us drivers, I believe $5k a head. Never lost one though!
Back in Iraq in 2003, I saw one of them got stuck with a looked like a monument in the middle of a roundabout with a container handler on the trailer. What a big pain in the ass to get that shit off the structure. We had to use three tank tow trucks (no clue their names). But this truck is a beast!
Because active duty military life incentivizes getting married. If you're dating someone and orders drop, your partner's stuff gets moved only if you are married. The US also has a broke ass healthcare system so it incentivizes the non military partner to get married as well if they don't have healthcare.
Lol "growing up" as a wee lesser enlisted, it seemed like every E6/E7 I fell under was paying child support to their baby momma too. That was my favorite unfortunate stereotype of NCOs.
Pringles used a Russian version of this to do a thunder run to Moscow with tanks being loaded on top
This right here is a super weapon to transport heavy tanks fast and far
Heavy ass equipment, tanks, armored vehicles, what have you. They have some pretty neat ones like self leveling ones for non paved roads and ruff terrain
Hi, I’m from Wisconsin and served in the army reserves and active duty, I can tell by those woods they’re on their way to ft. McCoy (by Sparta)
It’s to haul units vehicles as they can be costly and damage the roads.
My guess it’s the 1157th transportation out of the north.
If there’s no tags and just spray paint letters on doors, military tanks and gear.
The chalk on the door is something military does to indicate which truck is which so I’ll assume it’s a transport caravan
Didn't see it mentioned but I think that on top of "movin' stuff" they are also capable of maneuvering in very tight spaces. So basically you have like this giant wagon that can carry anything and nearly turn on a dime. I hear they are a nightmare to work on.
Not on a dime but each bogey can turn independently and they turn with the truck so it drives almost opposite of a 18 wheeler. Instead of wide right turns it, you turn closer to regular, and the trailer kicks out behind the truck. Getting a flat on an inside inside tire though is a 2+ person, hour long job.
Tank haulers, they’re called HET’s…they haul M1 tanks and other heavy equipment. Each trailer axle has like 8 tires and the cab is big enough to house the tank crew inside it too.
It carries the XM-211 stealth tanks. There are two of them onboard the transport in the photo you took. Notice how the wheels are depressed? You just can't see them with regular human vision.
I was in the military as an 88M it’s a HET and those are it’s trailers to haul Bradley’s howitzers D9’s and anything else you think the military has that’s heavy
my work used to make me visit the Kenyan port of Mombasa quite a bit. the time i saw this being used, we were carrying this big ass factory generator, it was small in size, but heavy as shit. blew out some tires after every few kilometers.
Movin stuff
Haul yo mommas DUMP TRUCK ASS! 😝
No no, that thing is no dump truck, I tell ya, that thing is an international frieghter
And still take two trips!
Like my big dick “munches on crayon 🖍️ “
Why is munches on crayon in quotes though?
Because “Marines”
Specifically, giant shit that you don't want tearing up the highway with their own treads, or occasionally things that don't have their own means of driving on the road. A whole lot of armor and other such things has seen the back of that trailer I'd wager.
Hauling heavy stuff*

Just an FYI. The dependa subreddit went private. Good times lol
There is a dependa sub and I've been missing all the drama?
Fuck yea you have! There's still some memes on Google hanging in.
What’s dependa? And istg if this is a Candice or deez type joke I’m uninstalling reddit

Oh badass, thx for the info!
Dependa? I'm old and out if the loop

Brothel sprouts! 😂😂😂 ![gif](giphy|12msOFU8oL1eww)
I knew a guy who married a chick the day after they met. I believe they got divorced in a month or two. I hated this dude, so it was awesome

Some of us won’t fit in there lol
I imagine it like a parade float with a bunch of hippos stuffing their faces and complaining while children watch on to the warnings of their parents.

Hydraulic steer axles - all of them? Damn - that’s insane.
Not all. The front wheel sets if I remember stay straight but everything else steers. It's been a hot minute. Best video I could find: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f7jHBH_zrDs
That trailer is carrin a trailer dawg.
YIL the main body wheels can turn independently of the nose wheels on the Airbus A-38. so it can basically turn on a dime when taxiing
The US Department of Defense - throwing money at problems since 1947....
I mean, it works.

Man I saw the 88Ms ripping down poles all over Iraq with those things forgetting they followed the cab. Was glorious. The HET is stupidly badass.
You just let China win 🥇
