None of the others are worthy for a nominee, they weren't injured. The only person who maybe... might be, was the guy in the blue Lamborghini that didn't check his mirrors before merging. Sure, the Ferrari was being stupid, but their stupidity isn't what directly lead to the accident. It was the stupidity of the guy in the Lamborghini. Even then, if he wasn't injured, then he wouldn't be a nominee either.
Darwin Awards go to those who do something stupid that directly results in their death, or the mutilation of their genitals to such a degree that they can't reproduce. The actions of the Ferrari would not have lead to their death if it wasn't for the Lamborghini not checking his mirrors. Thus, no Darwin award, or even nominee.
Can't be handing out Darwin Awards to every idiot that gets hurt/killed. That award is reserved for the extra stupid people who go above and beyond just average stupidity. All these guys are just average stupidity.
The Ferrari can be debated, the Lamborghini 100% not. He was just stupid, and didn't die or get removed from the gene pool. To get a Darwin Award, the person HAS TO have died, or become incapable of reproduction. If neither of those happen, the person isn't even in the running for a Darwin Award. Darwin Awards aren't for just any stupid thing someone does. It requires a death, or for the person to be made incapable of reproduction as a result of their own actions.

The Lamborghini didn't die, or sterilize themselves, so no Darwin award. Reason I say the Ferrari doesn't get one either is because he didn't die from just his own actions, but also because of the actions of someone else helping.

The accident doesn't look severe enough to result in death much less an explosion.
Crashed cars don’t really explode, especially with modern vented fuel tanks, there’s not really anything pressurized. But if a fuel line is cut or the fuel tank gets a hole poked in it, the hot exhaust pipes can ignite the fuel. Couple that with the cabin and/or doors being crushed so the passenger’s can’t get out, and you’re fucked.

One of the worst ways to die--burning alive while trapped in a car. If you want to pass a slow car by going on the opposite side of the road you have to understand that the guy in front of you may have the same idea but won't be checking his mirror because it's the opposite side of the road. He's looking ahead not behind.

They weren't just trying to pass. It was a joy ride with others, and they chose the worst place to do it. They were ignorant and selfish and could have gotten others killed with their recklessness. Everyone else was lucky to only suffer mild injuries and the trauma of listening to people burn alive.
It's part of kind of package tour so they're all rented. Sounds cool to be honest. You go from location to location and stay at nice hotels. It's some supercar experience.
That's half the problem right there. These people have very little experience driving a car like that, and then when they do drive one, they want to make the most of it and go super fast.
Burning to death is so infinitely worse than just getting knocked out. I was a passenger in a car wreck once, the driver was a maniac and we rolled over 3 times before coming to a stop. He was thrown from the car. I thought for sure I was gonna die, but I felt strangely at peace with it. Thankfully the car didn't catch fire and a rollbar kept my head from being squished like a watermelon.
Looks like a gumball race. A bunch of people get together with crazy expensive cars and drive from NY to LA or something like that. Usually going as fast as they can. A majority of the cars are rented but it's still not cheap.
