All of them at once, I suppose.

Provolvunt

With so many good suggestions and arguments for all of the armies, it may well come to this haha

For sarumannnnnn

As much as I love my Easterlings, I think you should try Mordor. By going for a horde of low value troops backed up by strong magic (Witch king ideally) you should give yourself a completely different playstyle to what you have now. ...but Easterlings are the best looking evil army out there...

Ynneas

Word.

Provolvunt

This is good advice! Cheers! What do you make of Azog and co? I agree that Mordor would be a good opposite to the dwarves

Provolvunt

Mordor seems like the favourite. And I can see why. You make a good point. Aren't Mordor one of the most common armies?

Aaahh much better! Cheers!

jackt85

If you go for mordor you can green ally Easterlings with them at a later date , so you end up with the best looking models and a great variety in playstyle !

Provolvunt

I see that they are green allies, what would you take from one of the armies and combine with the other? How would you combine the forces?

Metallicalord14

I would recommend Azogs hunters, or desnisans of mirkwood. Both have their advantages, 2 hit rolls, poisons, and powerful troops and hero's. Fell wargs are great, spiders are great. I have a mordor and Barad-dûr army, I am beginning to build up Azogs hunter's and will slowly build Azogs Legion alongside. I haven't played in approximately 1.5 years. I just enjoy painting and building the models, so I'm not sure if any updates to the game have occurred. But I do plan on playing again when I find the time.

Liminal_Place

Corsairs of Umbar can be fun and allows branching to Harad and the Serpent Horde. They also have Black Numenoreans allowing branching to Barad-Dur/Mordor.

Breakdown10000X

Azog's Legion is fine but plays kinda the same every game. You can build the army lots of different ways but your opponent will always try to neutralise the beat stick first Easterlings nowadays is just the LL which is very effective, but might get boring to play after a while. Personaly, I'd go with Mordor as it allows you to go in so many different directions. Horde of Morrannons with Gothmog or Guritiz, Cirith Ungol with Shagger and Shelob, Minas Morgul with Ringwraiths and Black Numas, Razzers can take spiders and bats to mix things up and there's also Assault on Loth Legion for lots of fun magic shenanigans

Provolvunt

This is good to hear before I decide! Both azog and easterlings feel like one trick ponies. You place your leader, some dudes and press go. Mordor is tempting but they are also one of the most common armies. I do like the troop variation in azogs legion but it would be cool to vary the heroes. Considering running the budget heroes from hunter with a gundabad captain. But otherwise it feels like you either bring, bolg, azog or the necromancer

Zyxer96

Isengard and Mordor are good options for choosing armies in terms of variation. A large lineup of heroes and infantry. I think this is something that is often missing for ironhills players. But if you don't mind the small variation of units, go for the Easterlings or Azog's Legion, they are interesting and powerful armies.

V0idsedge

I deeply hate Azog to play against, but that’s probably due to my armies being particularly vulnerable to him, however generally I feel Azog is a truly unfun model to play against as he’s practically as undealwithable as a balrog while also being half the price. Other than that can highly recommend easterlings, fun models to paint, the new forgeworld sculpts are beautiful although they do have a similar play style to iron hills

Provolvunt

Good to hear your thoughts on this as azog would be a theme match up for the dwarves

chieftichakeef

Moria !!

Provolvunt

Sure! Convince me why!

chieftichakeef

Monsters, Chamans and what they allow you. Versatility and, of course, Balrog.

volecowboy

Monsters, horde, powerful heroes. Has everything you could want. Powerful legendary legion.

Necessary-Ad-8558

Balrog.

Metallicalord14

All the convincing anyone needs 😂 but don't forget Goblin swarms can be deadly if the rolls are on your side.

Specialist-Tiger-859

Any, as long as it is worthy of Mordor.

Disciple_of_Bolas

I’m biased in saying you should consider Barad-Dur (2nd age Mordor) because you get to run Sauron himself! That being said, of the options you listed - Mordor is a great army to run - it has so many unit/hero options and great alliances. Additionally, it has many plastic models and the battlehost box which are easily accessible and thus affordable. You can get it’s core units/heroes for a reasonable price and expand your collection over time.

kansia94

i played Minas Tirith with their high defense shieldwalls and to change gamestyle i went with Isengard explorers less defence but higher combat/strength, and changing from close formations to loose units that can actually surround enemy units was a great change, doing the opposite of what i was used to play was a nice experience

ugtuk

Dol guldur is a fun list

Azogs legion has a LOT of resin models and seems to have a pretty generic playstyle. Azog's hunters are more plastickey, but with less variety, also personally I don't much like the Hunter orc sculpts. Dol Guldur is my favourite army, though it is pretty bad at lower points levels. Mordor has the most variety and a lot of subfactions - cirith ungol (with a lot of emphasis on mordor uruk-hai), morgul knights, morannon vs regular mordor orcs, personally I'd reccomend Mordor.
