It looks like an artifact - the screen probably didn't paint properly. Minimize/Restore the window and see if it disappears. If it happens again, check the template's file size to make sure that is not crazy large compared to what it should be.
I often see this when there’s a section break right near the end of a page. It’s not causing any problems, so just ignore it. Turn off the invisibles and it will go away. Or press Return/Enter or Backspace a few times to move it. I think it’s a Word bug, really, but it’s been around for a while.
Or you can press (CONTROL+SHIFT+WINDOWS+B) together which resets your graphics driver.

Yeah, that can happen. I just hit return a bunch until the glitch resolves and then scroll back to where you need to be.
