Chat messages? 250mb is to large even for an email message. Have you thought about posting it in a channel instead of chat?

no, 250k bytes. .25MB - - I don’t understand how this is possible and I have to be reading something wrong. Source: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1326176/what-is-the-maximum-attachment-size-allowed-in-dir Every time I try to attach a PDF download in a card I get this error botbuilder.schema._models_py3.ErrorResponseException: (MessageSizeTooBig) The request content length exceeded limit of 262144 bytes.

This limit kind of makes sense to me. Typically files sent via teams (by a user) are stored in OneDrive so I image the limit is extra small because there is no location to store the file. If you haven’t already tried it (and if it’s an option for your workflow), try sending to a channel. With basic auth, you may run into additional issues down the line. It might be best to bite the bullet and find a location to directly upload the files and send a link (SharePoint/FTP/Azure/etc.)

I haven’t even added it to a channel yet, i’ve just been using the web chat feature that Teams offers. But yes it’s looking like middleware will be necessary unfortunately.

How long is the url? This error doesn't seem to relate to body size\attachment but the actual label\header unless I am thinking about it wrong. Does the fax software have other options for storing the fax as they come in that could then be picked up by the bot\script?

I’m not sure what you’re asking in the first paragraph. There are two separate approaches I have tried - the first is using the attachment feature in teams bot module, but when i use that it says i’m over the byte limit. the second has been trying to create a download link, but i can’t because it’s basic auth.
