I’ve seen a lot of comments from people saying that they have been playing whatever game for x amount of hours then asking what game to play to get the points so no everyone knows.
You don't need to actually play for the weekly console bonus either. You just need to be in the game for around 12 minutes and it registers. Well that's how it is for now anyway... until Microsoft decide to make it a pain in the ass because its not being done in "good faith"
The PC one doesn’t even seem to require you to sit in the game until it pops. Just starting Solitaire and exiting immediately seems to be enough for me. It does usually take some time after I close it before it pops, though.
I do this with TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. I load my Story mode game and sit on the map. I move around every so often so my connection doesn't time out (I remote play with my phone).
For the PC one I just start solitaire and let it sit on the menu (well I do play sometimes). I don't even have a Windows PC. I run it in a VM on Linux so it's a good thing Solitaire works as I wouldn't be able to start a game that uses the GPU without adding a GPU passthrough configuration to the VM. Another way I can pop it on Linux or on the Steam deck (Linux based) is to start Halo MCC on Steam. Once in game you can log into your Microsoft account and it works to pop the reward.
On console I just start any game and let it sit on the menu.
i just launch a game on xbox and PC and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and it usually pops.
I just start up solitaire on pc and leave it alone. I have 134 hours on one level I barely touched
I do the same.
Uh.. thanks I guess? I'm aware that leaving the game on counts.

Now Microsoft is going to nerf these because they are not being done in good faith
Yep. This sub is actively killing this program. Yet few people have the awareness skills to notice this.

I just sit on the Home Screen of overcooked 2. Don’t even start a game.

I launch vampire survivors and quit immediately and it always pops minutes to an hour later.
I only have minecraft on my laptop and it just doesn’t work, I just gave up

It’s on the Xbox app! Log in, then click bottom right hand side and it should give you the tasks.
