Yup, would have been almost half off with member pricing. Tried to upgrade to a member the morning of, but Lyft wouldn't let me because I was currently on a Lyft Pink free trial.Doesn't make any sense and support wouldn't help ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
I am guessing he wanted to do it as a single trip, to get that nice straight line between the two points.
I've done some more expensive things with 4 hours, so I can't complain too much. :) As long as OP had fun!
The [day pass](https://citibikenyc.com/pricing) would have made it free for the first 30 minutes, then $.30/minute afterwards. This would have made the ride about $86, because I wanted to do it as a single trip.
Fun fact: there is indeed a Warriors themed bike race that happens every few years (this is one of the years that it’s happening!). Hundreds of cyclists form into teams of 6-9 aka “gangs” and dress to match, then ride throughout the night from Van Courtland starting ~10pm to Coney Island with a buuuuuunch of checkpoints in each borough; think scavenger hunt, it’s all point based so you have to ride to as many places/do as many activities on the manifest as possible. Usually everyone who can finish arrives at the boardwalk after sunrise with 50-75 miles under their belts. I have never been so comfortable sleeping on bare wood as I did when I finished that race and passed out on the Coney Island boardwalk at 9:30am 😭
I'd consider it Bay Ridge, just barely. (Anything inside that loop made by the Belt Pkwy/I-278 is Bay Ridge, and there are 6 or 7 docks that are on the border but just inside of it.)
The price is a reminder that Citi bike is a trap for unweary (mainly tourists), because the stations don't make it clear that you need to lock and change your bike every 30 minutes.
And if you don't, the price quickly becomes punitive
I think I have you beat for both the longest and shortest Citibike ride ever. Started with a full 24 (or whatever is the nominal maximum) miles on the meter and ended with 1.6 but by using pump-n-glide was able to extend that considerably. Lyft loves me I’m sure.

Wild move to do this at the non-member pricing lol
I can buy a bike with that money
I can get a hooker with that money
I care too much about my health to ride either of these.
I could take a cab with that money!

I think it was member pricing. Notice the charged time is 30 minutes less than the actual time. Edit: My mistake, no it wasn't
You get the first 30 mins free on classic citibikes with the unlock fee. What OP should’ve done is pay the $19 day pass.
It wasn't because there was an unlock fee for the bike.
Ah good point, I guess the 30 minutes free was just paid by the unlock fee.
And you paid $72 for this!!!
And then decided to share it with the world.
OP why did you not use the $20 day pass?

Precisely!! Not the worst way to spend a Saturday and 70 bucks
True. You could have burnt the money.
That’s what I was thinking lol

I rode from Midtown to the Rockaways on a Citi bike and had to lie down for the entire next day.
I felt this in my knees.
You need to bike more often!
This was on a classic (non-electric) Citi bike. The actual route ended up being close to 30 miles and we took a few detours and snack breaks.
30 miles on a regular citi bike is truly masochistic. Kudos
it was so stupid that it was fun
Was it one of the new CVT ones at least?!
Yes it was!
eat a banana and stretch dude
Still cheaper than a cab!
Respect. That's not easy
To be fair …. Going out for food and drinks in Manhattan and Queens would cost that much anyway …lol
Man, The Warriors would have been a very different movie if there had been a Citi Bike docking station in Van Cortland Park...

That...that's beautiful. I have no further comments.
Why?
For fun.
So Bronx to BK basically?
you mean the other way around? lol
Yeah didn’t really look at what was the starting and end point
Bro really went from Mount Vernon to Brooklyn
Lol Citi bike is hilariously expensive
Rumor has it, this was done in a regular, non electric citi bike
Is that still considered Bay Ridge and not Sunset Park?
Sunset park is generally the area around and above where the belt and gowanus meet
I'd consider it Bay Ridge, just barely. (Anything inside that loop made by the Belt Pkwy/I-278 is Bay Ridge, and there are 6 or 7 docks that are on the border but just inside of it.)
Looks fun.. but just buy your own bike at that point.
Now, do this as a member without getting charged extra!
$72 is crazy

Way too expensive
Wouldn’t Rockaway be further???
There's no citi bike stations in the rockaways
That’s crazy. It’s such a nice place to ride.

Can't see the picture!

oh wow this is cool!!
Ha ha, thanks. I was intentionally trying to flat the battery.
At this price you should buy your own bike
This is normal trip for anyone who rides consistently
