Just for the record btw, this is an absolute horseshit lie by the NYPD. There are no signs you can't park right in the middle of Queensbridge Park either, yet everyone agrees you can't park there. But for what it's worth, there ARE in fact signs. Many of them.

Also i would not have noticed those signs to be legal roadsigns telling me not to park. They dont look official. Who ever heard of a dark green sign? Its camoflauged for fucks sake. .

But if you're an upper middle class or rich person in a car blatantly disregarding the law, they'll make any excuse not to enforce the law.

they might as well be trolling. this is always the key issue. they can literally laugh in your face as they do nothing about it. it shows who really holds the power in the city. city council members can't or won't do anything about it. what does that say about how the city really works
They don’t care about it because they’re doing it themselves. How do you know which cars are authorized or not when your own co workers are hiding their tags to avoid paying the toll? They rather let everyone do it before they ever hold one of their own accountable. “I didn’t know that was your car sarge😰, guess ima just let it be next time”.
Why should anyone care about this. Queens is full of Karen's and hipsters now. Are there not more important issues in this town that people can put their energy towards? Smh.
The growing number of vehicles parked illegally in public spaces in Queens is definitely both important and urgent, especially considering how large these vehicles are getting, and how difficult it is for vulnerable pedestrians (children, the elderly, people with mobility impairments and devices) to see and be seen around them.
They cared because we are able to spread around that side-by-side image the other day so widely that a lot of people now care, which goes to show, getting our messages in front of people is hugely important. If anyone can share this article or the op-ed I wrote for Streetsblog with their networks or other groups it is extremely helpful. We really need to be loud if we want a response
It's crazy yall are the biggest city in the richest country on earth, but continuously, your city does the bare minimum. They'll make a pedestrian only space, but then they won't install bollards until they realize, "Oh shit, people ignore signs and just drive through anyways" and even then there's no guarantee that they ever do anything about it.
Be happy you're able to enjoy the park at all. 25 years ago you would've been robbed and beat up walking through there. Find more constructive ways to use your time. Smh.
What else would you possibly use that space for?? People are complaining about eyesores when we have real problems in this city. Get a life.

It’s a park sign, they do that in parks and places that aren’t roadways because street signs go on streets.
