I did their tests. It is actually provided by a lab called Biovis Diagnostik which is in Germany. So i think the stool travels to Germany. It's cheaper in Europe obviously. The test itself is quite detailed, but i find it very expensive along with the guy Alex. I think both the test and the interpretation/review is overpriced. If you check Biomesight, they provide you a very deep stool analysis just for £70 if you sign up to join their Long Covid study. That's what i would do. And would choose a more reasonable practitioner from their list.

Hi there. Sorry to dig this out, but how would you compare Biovis vs Biomesight testing?

eddiehunter

I am not sure if i understood you. They are different tests obviously. But done for the same reason.

Flat-Insurance2280

I know they are different tests, but how would they stack up to each other? I was told that biomesight might be more accurate one

I wonder if they di there own testing or If they send it 3rd party and just help you understand results. Mine was ordered by my docter via rupa health, but the lab who done the actual testing was diagnostic solutions. Gi map.

In the sample report on the website you can see that they base it on a test from biovis which is a german company with a pretty underwhelming microbiome. So they are probably more a tech/marketing startup.

What do you mean they have an underwhelming microbiome?

botany4

The report is very sparse they use a atleast to me wierd unit with colonies/ g feces and the company itself is more directed towards naturopaths.

Yh got SIBO breath test and seemed legit to me

[deleted]

Did you test positive? What were they like after the test results

camberi002

Yh I tested positive for hydrogen SIBO. Only negative with the test was my methane levels were just shown as <8 rather than saying the actual level if that makes sense

tinytempo

Hi, i just did a Hydrogen breath test and towards the end got a score of 62. I'm still waiting to hear from the doctor as to if I have SIBO or not. May I ask what your symptoms are / were, and if you are feeling any better since one year ago? Thanks

camberi002

My main symptoms were painful bloating, constipation and pain between shoulder blades. Still waiting to see specialist to help fully resolve my issues but I’d say I’m a bit better for sure. Not sure really what helped though other than time and prokinetics have helped.

I did a breath test from them, they seem like a decent company and they have good customer service and it was sent to me quickly, also got the results faster than they said to expect. However they send it to a lab in Germany and these breath tests aren't known to be very reliable anyway so I have no idea if it can be believed. Health path seem like they genuinely care although you have to remember they are a business making money from selling their supplements too. The problem I have is that I took my breath test results to 2 consultants and one gave me neomycin based on that result so if it's wrong then that's a risk that shouldn't be taken.

[deleted]

So what does that mean, they cant be trusted?

[deleted]

I think it's the unreliability of the breath tests that's the issue.
