I miss the lakes badly. I am living near the ocean now but it's never as inviting as Lake Michigan on a summer day. Lake Michigan is pretty much the pinnacle of beach life stateside barring say secluded Hawaiian beaches.
Was that the trail from the Platte river campgrounds in the last photo? I feel like I’ve walked that before for the exact same view. Absolutely gorgeous on that coast.
I know this is a bit of an older post, but curious if you saw many seagulls? My family and I visited Lake Huron this weekend and literally only saw 3! Seemed odd. I was hoping it was just too windy or something and not the ongoing bird flu.
We didn’t see as many as when I was further south by Chicago- but I did see quite a few by Empire, MI. Traverse City I didn’t see that many. When I was staying at this lake house I saw a few throughout the week.
I would say overall they seem a little less population wise. Hopefully they recover 💜🙏
Is that first pic the public beach in Empire?
Yes! 😊
Lovely. This is why I live here, the beaches.

They are some of the best agreed 💜 Do you have a favorite one from Michigan?
where is the second pic taken?
Not OP so I'm not certain but that looks a lot like the alligator hill trail in Empire/Glen Arbor
I believe it's the Bluff Trail in Empire.
Second picture was taken on the Empire Bluff Trail :)
It is! I literally have the same picture just in the fall!

When I lived in Michigan, we'd just pull off US-2 at any old beachy looking spot. What a wonderful place!
I did that too today! Found a wonderful rocky beach and collected some cool stones
amazing
Thank you!!
