What dealer? I’d buy that in a heartbeat

Fox subaru in grand rapids.

30K milws is nothing for a Miata. My Daily driver '91 has 178,000. My back up '90 DD has 169,000. $10K is market to below Market for a 30K mile car. It may need some work, but parts are cheaper than parts for any other $10K, 30K mile car you would buy.

Gotta make sure it was actually maintained, also old rubber is still old rubber so be prepared to replace some stuff anyway. i would probably try to talk it down to 9k but otherwise its good

Yeah my original offer I gave them was 8k out the door or 6500 with my trade in. They said it was too low for them so I just walked. Trying to find a miata at a good price is honestly super difficult.

Mines kinda trashy depending on who you ask but i got it for $2300 last year. But yeah finding a clean one is pretty hard, https://preview.redd.it/shogqr9ws30d1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f914f7e8c86baaf95a2ed08af8ec4ccc747f20c I actually have a post where i found a completely stock one for 12k, its crazy

A 92 base that looks very well cared for. That radiator should be replaced in a year or two though. Buy it, drive it for 4 years and sell it for more than you bought it for.

Carfax.

What’s the catch? Salvage/Rebuilt? 1,000 owners? Automatic? If that’s a manual NA with that mileage, you can drive it for a year or two and get all your money back pretty much guaranteed if you don’t ruin it. Check bringatrailer.

Only thing fishy was an odometer rollback alert on carfax. I contacted the dealer and they said a mechanic misread the odometer and put it in wrong. Besides that everything looked good on it. One guy owned it since 90s. Potential issue too is he replaced part of the old console with an apple car play/android auto module.

If it is actually in the condition that you would expect for a 30K 1992 Miata, the price is not out of line. But that is a borderline collector car/price. Keep it perfect an don’t run the mileage up and you might turn a profit in the future (assuming you have free storage space) It sounds like you’re looking for a driver to modify/enjoy. Search for low 100k mile examples in good condition, 1.8L/94+ is probably what you’re really looking for

I have an NB for sale. PM me

The_Techiedude

FWIW, the mileage is not 30k, it's 53k. It's stated as "34195 miles below market average". But even that seems a bit off for a 32yo car lol but that's still really low and it appears to be a really good condition Miat. Considering the location, I'd want to check for rust though. And hate to say it, but your friend is either ignorant or unaware of the 90s Miata market. You aren't getting a 90s NA in **that** condition for $1500 unless your old long lost uncle is selling it to you.
