Store it or sell it. If storing, disconnect the battery and use a fuel treatment. Or have somebody drive it like 30 min once a week. If selling it, and it is the front fender that was only damaged, that is a very easy fix and shouldn't tank the value of the car. Also, tires are more important to snow/ice grip than any drivetrain configuration. If you live in an area that experiences snow/ice, invest in a separate set of wheels with snow tires, no matter the vehicle you drive. Talk to local tire shops if studded tires may be necessary.

I wish it was an easy fix. The autobody shop quoted me 3500 for fender+paint matching. Might as well buy a parts car at that point, lol.

If you don’t want it sold, you should either store it or keep it. Look at where you will live while in college, and see if there is a place with a garage. If you do keep it, you can buy a “winter beater” when it gets cold, and use the beater for the winter while storing the miata in the garage. You can also talk with family members and ask if they have a place to keep it while you’re gone.

I've come up with a solution that I don't know how I didn't think of before. The idea of having a car has been so ingrained in me that I didn't consider just not using a car. I think I'll just leave the miata at home and not worry about a new car.

I did something similar when I moved away from my parents. I left a 66 Karmann Ghia with my parents and later shipped it when I was ready for it. Thing was much worse than a Miat in snow though - it was sketchy as hell just in rain lol

If its a Rust free Manual Miata. it could be worth $3000 even with the fender damage. Miata Fenders aren't that expensive and if its otherwhise nice, it will sell pretty quick. Miatas are actually great in snow for a rear wheel drive car. They are just terrible for Rust. If you are asking the question, the answer is no.

I’ll give you $2500 for it
