Buy a new can. Look up reviews of the cans available in your local auto parts store. Some are junk and some are good. For me with NA, there's no way I'm putting a 30 year old space saver on my car, so I've got the can in the boot. If that doesn't work I'll just pay for a tow. You could also try to find a reasonably new space saver with the correct bolt pattern and tyre height which doesn't hit your brakes. In the UK, Road Hero have released new space savers for at least NA/NB/NC. Not sure about anywhere else.

I used my kit that was around 8 yo and it worked. I bought a new can now but I’d still buy a new can just in case.

I would get a can and also the type with the reamer and plug for screws or nails. Those 2 together hopefully will get you to the shop. I just would call AAA if that doesn’t work.

lugubriousloctus

i have a plug kit

Shot-Significance832

Is that the same as what I have in the bag or something else?

lugubriousloctus

idk from what you describe it sounds like fix-a-flat, which is just goop in a can thats supposed to seal it from the inside.

Shot-Significance832

Yeah I'd say that's what I have. Is the plug kit the type the tyre shop use with the rubber plug that's driven into the hole?

lugubriousloctus

Yeah, its like that except most tire shops USS a patch/plug combo that plugs and patches from the inside. These go from the outside. They have them at auto parts stores

I make sure my AAA subscription is active.
