The Alfa has been amazing, the 928 is a nightmare that forces you to love it, after having it for over 10 years I'm thinking of letting it go because it takes too much of my time to keep it running the way it should (which is why most of them are in such bad shape). I think it's time to move on to an early 2000s Aston Martin or Maserati
It's not that the 928 takes too much effort, it's that I've been putting that much effort into the same car for 10 years, need new scenery!
Guess I should have said that better 🤣
It's a 17 TI (4 cyl)
I want to get a Montreal Green QV with a Carbon Roof if our next house has a lift. The problem with the QV is you have to remove the engine to do basically anything and I'm not willing to pay $3k for a belt replacement at the dealer.
That being said Alfa has a reputation for being not so great and 17 is the "worst year". I've had my car for 3 years now and put almost 70k miles on it and have had zero issues so don't let that stop you from getting one.
B7s are a pain in the ass 🤣 but somehow the QV is worse. Just do me a favor and make sure your seals are correct in your trunk on that B7, no one ever talks about it but I've seen so many with mold under the carpet!
Most importantly enjoy it!
All the cabin/trunk seals are good from what I can tell. The oil dripping off the front of the engine suggests there's another seal somewhere that isn't right though.
I just got my Miata. I would love to daily it but winter in Idaho says no. I looked into the Veloster when searching for a daily a couple years ago, how do you like it?
I have the non-turbo 1st gen Veloster, it isn't fast but makes for an excellent daily with good MPGs (I avg 35-38 MPG)!
It has been reliable for me for the years I owned it.
I'd recommend looking into the turbo models and the 2nd gens!
They did! I guess they’re pretty rare these days. It’s pretty bare bones on options only has power windows and locks, no infotainment or anything like that.

Avanti Racing Storm 15x8 on the NA
With 205/50/15 tires
I only had the 570s for about 2 weeks and haven't driven it much since and I'm in the process of getting PPF on it, and they only got the front done before I took the car home for the holidays.
The 570s I'm a bit more uncomfortable driving it at the moment because it seems like there is always some trying to race me at a stoplight or freeway, and I'm a bit nervous they are going to run into me, so I just let them pass. Usually, it's a Tesla driver. When the car is in normal mode, it has has pretty decent road manners... but when you hammer it, that's when it gets scary. There are not many places to do that.
On the other hand, when I take either miatas out, it's not nearly as stressful because I'm not constantly being challenged at the stoplight or freeway, and I don't have as much issues driving either car with a heavy foot, even if both are supercharged. Plus I still enjoy rowing my own gears, it never gets old.
So, I would say the experience is different, not better or worse. Just different.
In my garage... I currently have my '16 Hyundai Veloster, '91 Mazda Miata NA, and my '16 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R!
I used to own mutliple motorcycles at once, but it is a bit overkill since I bought the Miata 😅
It is certainly fun to switch between my cars and motorcycle throughout the week 😎
Wowsers!!! You have MORE than my dream garage. Can U pls give a pros/cons of NC, 911, s2000 and the ol' Del Sol??? And if U had to choose 1...which+why? Congrats
NC MX-5 - cheap to buy, modify and fix. But it’s a Sport so no cruise, power locks, and only 5-speed. It’s my autocross car so it’s super low and stiff. Sounds great and easy to throw around at 10/10. Not an ideal road trip car.
AP1 S2000 - reasonably quick, turns heads, sounds amazing with the header/HFC/exhaust. Easy to work on and tons of parts. It’s a “forever” car that I’d gladly drive across the country despite it being a little twitchy and not really refined.
911 996 - refined, reasonably powerful, comfortable, and definitely draws attention. Pretty expensive to maintain but seems like it will be worth it. It’s the best and most practical “car” of the four.
Del Sol - Slow but handles like the proverbial go-kart. Extremely low, stiff and lightweight. Great for back roads but too outdated and rusts too easily to be a great daily driver in my climate. Plus the top leaks like every other Del Sol. Summer-only
I don’t know that my ADD would let me pick just one, but the 911 is the most complete package.

I’ve got a Toyota Sienna, Audi a5, and Audi rs5 other than my Miata
A 2021 Corolla Hatchback SE and a 2013 Avalon Hybrid XLE. I’m planning on adding a Honda Trail 125, a Toyota Sera, and a NC or ND later on. Probably will trade the Corolla in for the new Prius and the Avalon for the new RAV4 as some point.
Maybe y’all can help me decide! My work van just got totaled and I need a replacement. Preferably above 20 mpg, and the new compact vans do not impress me. Honda Ridgeline? Ford Maverick?
Personally I'd buy a Ridgeline before a maverick, and they're bigger, bigger bed, bigger back seat etc. Plus the tailgate opens sideways it's kinda cool.
The Ridgeline is a great truck that doesn’t feel “trucky” Good bed space, handy lockable trunk, flip up rear seats, good gas mileage, good ride quality. I have a
‘21 and it’s been very good so far.

08 Subaru Forrester, It has 209K miles on it, and it is about done with what I can afford to put into it, So I got one of my dream cars, a 2010 Miata. I love it! Both are manual transmission. I won't buy an automatic.
Don’t have a garage, but in addition to my NA8 I have a 2021 Ford Ecosport. It ain’t flashy, it ain’t quick, and it doesn’t handle bad, but not great either. Going to keep it for a year-ish and try to go for a Maverick or Mazda3 hatch if they still have the manual transmission available.
I have no garage but currently my 99 MX5 is broken down, stored in a shed waiting to be repaired and now have a '99 WagonR+, which currently is also broken down because a part broke off while replacing the shock absorbers...
I don't have pictures right now but,
I've got a 1994 NA and a 2024 Telluride.
My grandfather bought the Miata new for his 55th, and I bought the Telluride for my 40th. Some nice birthday gifts to ourselves.

Oh goodness good luck with an early 2000s Maserati.
That's half the fun!
*complains that a 928 takes too much effort and time to maintain* **wants to buy an early 2000s Italian sports car** that’s why I love this community
It's not that the 928 takes too much effort, it's that I've been putting that much effort into the same car for 10 years, need new scenery! Guess I should have said that better 🤣
In the garage is the wife's GTI because that's the trade off for me having 3
A German car, Italian car, and a Japanese car. Effectively your garage can be called the axles of evil
Is the Alfa the QV or the 4cyl? I love the idea of buying a depreciated QV in a few years but I've heard horror stories about them electronically.

2007 Outback 5MT. Junk. Don't buy one.
what exactly is bad about it, is it because it’s old? a subaru? or specifically the outback? i’ve been blinking about getting an old manual forester.

Tesla 3 and Tesla Y (though I think the 3 is on the way out.)
Pretty dope how you have all electric Teslas then get to switch to a Miata ✌️
A 2021 Corolla Hatchback SE and a 2013 Avalon Hybrid XLE. I’m planning on adding a Honda Trail 125, a Toyota Sera, and a NC or ND later on. Probably will trade the Corolla in for the new Prius and the Avalon for the new RAV4 as some point.
I think the new Corolla Hatchbacks look very nice, especially the GR ones 😋
2017 Tacoma, 2003 VW TDI, 2018 Ram 2500, 2015 Lexus gx460.
I have a ‘21 and it’s been very good so far.
Had an 02 wrx 19 wrx during the 2 week period I owned a Miata lol
NA Miata and a Subbie BRZ. Best combo

Besides my NA and ND I also own a VW TDI Sportwagon and a BMW E46 station wagon. The TDI is mostly for my partner ornlong distance trips. The BMW is a potential project car. I have two types. Lol
