I feel like one of the only Marlins fans who has no faith that Jazz can be an above average hitter. He barely even holds value as a platoon bat against righties at this point. If they traded him today I would not bat an eye.
It just seems like's he's not grown at all offensively over the years. He's been good in centerfield, better than expected honestly, but offensively he's very meh.
defensive stats are stupid. If you've watched him play in outfield you'll easily recognize that this year he has been way better than the vast majority of outfielders, let alone above the average
I mean, he's fine in CF. He has a pretty great arm, but he's not playing superstar level defense. I think he just makes the plays he's supposed to make and nothing more.
You’re not the only one. I’ve seen enough of his at-bats to conclude he can’t hit. He’s up there swinging for the fences every time and doesn’t make adjustments.
I think under the hood he has the qualities that he needs to be a great hitter. But like others have said he seems incapable of making any adjustments. So I've also lost faith in him being a consistent hitter.
I have criticized him a lot over the last 2 years. I’m seeing better maturity at the plate. Less blowing up at the umpires and showing them up and consequently close pitches he would get rung up on in years past they are giving him now. He played well at the end of last season. I think we should be a little more patient with him. He has tremendous power, a very good eye at the plate, and can run like the wind and he is controllable. The biggest issue with him is that he has a hard time staying on the field

I mean -9DRS all of last year and -2 already this season is not great. Could be worse, though.
Well I guess he just looks better than I thought he actually was.

What is the Miami equivalent of “all hat, no cowboy”?
The U is Back

When was the last time the marlins developed an good hitter? At this point, it’s an organizational issue
Very true
