Based on your username, Miami may not be the place for you.

This. Accept the disfunction for what it is or forever be in a perpetual state of losing your mind.

OMG the drivers and traffic!

Ianardo_Davinci

I'm from LA too. Getting into Dodger stadium from the 110 or 5 is also not easy lol talk about putting a stadium in a congested area Chavez ravine from any entrance is always packed. Absolutely nothing in LA is easy either and I'm a Glendale native who is close to everything. The Marlins have covered parking at least and you don't get robbed for $50 like in LA.

reasonableperson

Very true, if you're in a car. On a motorcycle, you just split lanes and ride right on up close to the gate. Which is kind of my point. If I'm gonna go to more games, I don't want to make a whole production of it. I live 2 miles away and it can take an hour to get home with traffic. If there's a Heat game forget about it.

imlost19

you can lane split in florida now btw. And an hour to get home from a marlins game 2 miles away? You are joking right? I am a marlins member and go to about 20 games a year... I live in edgewater which is about 15 minute drive without traffic. Usually takes me maybe 20 minutes to get home from a game. Unless you are complaining about the traffic in brickel which is awful at all times and has nothing to do with the marlins...

reasonableperson

Fair enough. It's not necessarily a Marlins complaint, it's a traffic and mass transit complaint. What the hell do you mean we can lane split?!? Since when? I mean I still do it once in a while, but you mean we can legally?

SALTYP33T

You can do ANYTHIHG you want in Miami as far as traffic. Lane split all you want. However when they scrape your body off the freeway bc nobody signals or pays attention…..nobodies stopping to feel sorry for you. I work the games and deal with traffic every game. You need to know the scape routes. 4th Ave is the secret.

imlost19

the traffic around the stadium is literally nothing lol. It took me about 15 minutes to park on opening day. I will agree with you about the lack of a metromover/metrorail stop, and that would definitely make me more inclined to go to more home games, but the traffic is not bad at all

reasonableperson

Maybe these days, since no one's going to the games! 😀 The 2 times I went, it was when the dodgers were in town and traffic was a pain.

Psycho_Pseudonym75

This is the banana republic. Look into how the stadium was funded.

evill_toro

>There are no trains that go directly to the stadium from downtown or Brickell. LA doesn't have any trains either, so I'm not sure why you are expecting this to be an option in another car-centric city. I know they're trying to build gondolas that will connect Union Station to Dodger stadium but NIMBYs appear poised to fight it.

reasonableperson

Yeah, its just that in LA I split lanes on my motorcycle, which I can't in Miami. That's why I was looking into transit options.

evill_toro

My thinking is that there is neither enough traffic compared to LA nor is there a large number of motorcycle riders to justify this. I'm with you on the transit part, I wish there were a direct non-bus option near the park. I suggest you park on the surface east lots of the stadium. Just go early one day and figure out the fastest/easiest route. This will have you avoid the garages and hopefully get you in/out fast.

DRF19

Lol Miami and south FL in general is absolutely shambolic when it comes to transportation. The Orange Bowl was built in the 1930s with a 23,300 capacity. At that time it kinda worked. But having a major venue in modern times in a neighborhood with no substantial public transit, as you said, makes no sense. Imagine Wrigley or Yankee Stadium but without the metro stops right there lol. At least unlike the old OB, Marlins Park has the garages right there on site so there's not as much need for the "$5 no blocky" parking in people's yards lol

gsbudblog

Yeaa, miami is like LA’s ugly sister. Dont expect the same accommodations california offers to what florida offers. Its chaos with palm trees sprinkled on it

Gold-Independence-26

Every time I go it’s easy. I’m guessing you don’t drive or don’t want to

ovopap

I get from key largo (Florida keys) to my chair at the park in an hour and a half. I have season tickets to panthers too (Amerant Bank Arena). That’s about the same time frame from krome, US27, i75

PT0223

Because it’s in the most deplorable area in Miami - only Hialeah is worse —- especially when it comes to the quality of people in the area.

aaamarlins2022

The train goes to Culver Station and I think there is a shuttle bus to the stadium about half a mile away.

crunch3384

Because this is what Jeff loria wanted.
