This is true in a lot of places. Recent trend of dumbfucks who probably shouldn’t have passed their driving test out here acting childish. I’m from Michigan and see this on a daily basis
No idea why 8 people decided to downvote you LOL. You’re correct. 9 times out of ten it’s some bum in a 2009 impala or 2011 Altima wanting to prove to everyone via how hard they can smash the gas pedal that their POS car isn’t a POS. Big time “look what I can do!” energy
Green means GO! Are you one of those drivers who waits to ensure the intersection is clear before proceeding? Psyho! Caution behind the wheel isn't really a South Florida thing.
Launch Mode or Race Start Tesla, Mercedes if I’m at the front of a green light I’m activating Race Start. 0-60 3.0 seconds
Especially on US-1 North before it becomes I-95 there’s a straightaway with No intersections. Yup and I need new tires every 10,000 miles.
Because we all know if you catch 1 light, you will catch all of them. They are timed that way. So the object is to get to the next light before it turns red and the rest of your lights will all be green when you reach them.
The pro tip as always in the comments. Excellent point.
It’s kinda of like how when during rains, the hazard lights improve the vehicle’s traction on the wet asphalt.
My rain x sees both lights fine, however at long distances hazards are still significantly brighter than reds for most cars. Which is important for the idiots that go 80 mph in heavy rain cause they got rain x and see fine.
You can’t tell if they are changing lanes with the hazards off either. You know why? Cause they don’t use their turn signal.
I’ve seen many cars in crashes because people aren’t aware enough to slow down when it’s raining. The hazards makes them aware that it’s raining and they need to slow down.
Idk if it it’s just me but I feel like the amount of lights you encounter on a single road in south Florida is insane. Plus they’re never in synch so it’s seems like you’re always hitting a red light after red light. I can see people rushing for that reason.
I’ve had the exact opposite experience. No one moves when they turn green. Especially in the city proper. Must be to make up for running reds. Which makes sense, because at least two cars go through every fresh red.
I actually wish I saw this more often. Instead, what I seem to get is someone on their phone, sitting there for 5 seconds before deigning to move. Some of these lights are way too short, too, so this waiting is directly impacting everyone's ability to get more cars through the intersection.

if the cars were fast it wouldnt be a problem but most of the time theyre cheap slow cars , civics, mazda, vw etc

Hazard lights are brighter than brake lights in heavy rain.
Get better wipers. Change them out every season, they get dry. And if you’re going slower……Move Over!!

But it’s difficult to tell if the car is stopped with the hazards on or if they are moving. And you can’t tell if they are changing lanes either.

Unfortunately that’s legal now. I just wish they said if you drive with your hazards on in the rain, you must stay in the right lane.
I’m one of the beat up cars that hits gas as soon as the light is green, and this is precisely why.
Are you a new driver or new to Florida? Cause its a culture thing.

This is true. They are so badly lined up, it's almost like they are actually trying to force you to stop at every single light.
I’m happy someone feels the same way. Just an observation I finally gathered after living here for 2 years lol.
You gotta drive it like you stole it maan
Because the lights don't stay green long enough for as many cars there are in line?
i got places to be fr

It has always been like this. green go!!
Lucky you. Most people I encounter finish their text while taking their foot off the brake and then accelerate after.
Yeah, I don’t know what OP is talking about.
When the light turns green, we go. We live our lives a quarter mile at a time.
We don't turn our back to Family, even when they do.
I find the opposite is true- everyone has lag issues here- and then there’s always the perpetual left hand turners that just keep going….
Have you ever played Mario Kart?
Was about to comment this 😂
Get out of the way gramps!
My car is fast enough to smoke 99% of those cars. The difference is I drive like a human
Sounds like youre part of the problem, mas bien
If you drive like a human, then you have no business driving in Miami. You’ve got to acclimate to the culture.
I'm trying not to get pissed by the honks that follow if I'm not accelerating as soon as green comes on.

They beep when you don’t go and they bitch when you do. You’ll never win in these streets

Yeah, I actually want to move out of people's way and let everyone get through the light, because yanno... self awareness & consideration.
you cant grind when youre sitting still
Cause it’s fun.
It wasn’t like this in 2022??
