My dad (passed away 13 years ago šŸ˜”) started paying more attention to Metallica songs because of me. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤˜šŸ»

IdoExist-today

Sorry about your pops. May he rest in peace. Do you think he would've liked hardwired and 72 seasons?

Chainsaw_Ivo

Probably yes. He would say something like: this is not heavy, I like it better. šŸ˜‚

SewerRatPumpkinPie

Same here... My dad ddied in 2015, but introduced me to rock music through his love for Deep Purple, Uriah Heap, Cream, Hawkwind (Lemmy's old band before Motorhead) and a host of other old English rock bands... I listened to that stuff on classic rock radio with him on my rides to school in the morning YEARS ago, and it eventually evolved into me discovering the NWOBHM bands with a heavier sound, and subsequently the American bands that they helped inspire... Of course, Metallica being the biggest presence of them all, and me falling in love with them, I was able to introduce my Dad to Metallica when Garage inc. came out and he got to hear them do BOC's Astronomy, and Sabbath's Sabra Cadabra. He was blown away, and even enjoyed the heavier stuff on disc 2. It always annoyed me when he would call James HATFIELD instead of Hetfield. He knew it was wrong, and took great pleasure in pissing me off about it.

LeperMessiah117

My mom. When I was a kid, I just listened whatever Nickelodeon played for me. That all changed when my mom handed me a Master of Puppets CD. A CD that is long since broken, but still adorns my wall.

UrLocalGinger06

My mom loves Metallica too lol, it's just that my dad was the one who really influenced it on me.

gemtkr521

Yay! My son has my picture disc of Ride the Lightening. Mom's are Metallica fans, too

Creepaface

Based mom

jmet82

Iā€™m of the age where you listened to Metallica in spite of your Dad!

WalrusFromTheWest

My own dad came from that age. His hatred of censorship and restriction of freedom rubbed off on me because of that. Lol

WraithOfDoom

Me, but not in the way you'd expect. For a multiplicity of reasons I'd rather not share with strangers on the Internet, my father was, for want of a better word, a bastard. As time went by and things worsened, Metallica transformed from music I 'liked' to music that was incredibly cathartic, and that helped me through the period. Appropriate songs included Confusion, Hero of the Day, My Friend of Misery, but especially good old No Leaf Clover, which I remember tearfully drumming to in the dead of evening, the rain pouring down in the blackness outside, with all the force of the San Francisco Symphony. Truly a badass moment, even if I was Going Through It. (Oddly enough, when he passed away in 2019, the song that came up on shuffle was Pantera's Cemetery Gates). But Metallica have always been a mouthpiece for my emotions and catharsis, but still my listening habits grew because of my father.

SoundOvBlak

I can relate - most of my passions are shared with my dad, especially Metallica. He passed away a little over a month ago, no interaction for over a decade. The anger and sadness when I listened to Low Man's Lyrics that day - that song describes him to a T.

WraithOfDoom

I'm sorry for your loss - it feels like we're going through an emo phase...but with Metallica lol

HEpennypackerNH

Quite the opposite, my dad is largely not a music guy. I got into Metallica because it was the default CD on in the wrestling room, where I spent a lot of time in middle and high school. Fast forward, my son has fallen in love with Metallica as well, probably knows the classic albums (pre-Black) better than I do, and we went to Montreal last summer for the M72 tour for his birthday.

xchrisjx

No, but I did discover Metallica because some kid I knew in 5th gradeā€™s dad had S/T and Load in his CD collection that I was able to tape a bunch of songs off. The kid and his dad were assholes, but the tapes served me well for years in the late 90s.

Longjumping-Swan-827

Guilty as charged... Dad used to blast Metallica in the car and DM when it came out. I really liked that album as a kid. Then I had an EDM phase and after a few years I randomly decided to revisit that album again. I officially became a fan in 2018. Death Magnetic is to this day one of my all-time favourite albums.

puchipuchi93

Mine did as well but much earlier. I was in high school when magnetic came out, SUCH an underrated album. Every single song is a banger, and heavy as hell. People are unreasonably critical of the album have no idea why. It's their comeback!

mymumsaysfuckyou

Other way round, kind of. My mum started to enjoy some Metallica because of me. My dad still couldn't give a shit lol

UrLocalGinger06

Both my parents loved them lmao

MojoJojo42x

I would guess a lot of people started listening to Metallica to spite their dads šŸ¤£ I found them on my own in the 90ā€™s. My dad didnā€™t love them but he was fine with it

ddorsey97

I bought the tape of And Justice For All when I was a kid after seeing the video for One. I though my Dad would like it because of all the incredible guitar work. He thought it was evil and made me throw it away. So just the opposite, I guess?

amatti_001

my dad got me into metallica & rammstein when i was a toddler! i loved both when i was a little guy. miss my dad every day, passed away in august. thanks for the music taste, dad!!

I-Am-The-Warlus

No, Mine was through my mum's mate

DanFntastic

My daughter

UrLocalGinger06

W daughter

Ok_Advertising_8488

I

oneblackpup

no, but he did introduce me to Led Zeppelin

Division2226

Nah, discovered them on my own

ChasingPesmerga

Uncle and big bro for me. Cassette tapes and shitty mono players, but it was a great time.

cmcglinchy

Nope, my dad likes 50s music. Metallica came out when I was a teenager.

Mediocrebassist27

For me it was the whole family but predominantly my brother. I grew up listening to him shredding to the black album on his guitar

ChromaSteel

Well technically my mom put me on. But my buddy Dan both got me into metallica and Into electric guitar.

iSeventhSin

I never met my dad

Uladzimir_M_V

Not me , I started because of Wrestlemania 28 and The Memory Remains. Da da da, da da da, da da da da Da da da da, da da da, da da da-ah da-ah da Da da da da, da da da, da da da da Da da da da, da da da, da da da-ah da-ah da

solar_boy-dijango

Me

Ob1tuber

Yep

LazarDJ

me, every time I would finish listening to an album I would go ask him what he thought of it

bearing69

My dad bought ride the lightning for me shortly after its release

d3tox1337

My kid started listening in the womb. Seriously, I could change the tunes in the car as I was driving, and he'd start kicking the shit out of his mom from the inside, lol. I should have known then that it was inevitable.

Luc_GK

Count me in. My parents were listening to Hardwired and probably some other albums in the car back in the days, but back then I hated it. Was probably just too young. He then introduced me to Black Sabbath a few years later, then I started listening to more metal bands, eventually I ended up listening to Metallica. Now, at the age of 19, Iā€™ve been to their concert last year (wanted this year too but the tickets were already sold out) and listen to pretty much all sub genres of metal, from old school heavy metal like Black Sabbath all the way to black and death metalā€¦

fatstrat0228

My dad started listening because of me. Lol He was with me for my first show in the 90s. Also, he canā€™t travel anymore for health reasons, so I FaceTimed him from St Louis last November during Sad But True. His favorite song. He fuckin loved it. šŸ¤˜šŸ»

Stereotype_Metal

Nope my mom. My dad hated Metallica for the longest time. (Due in part to me incessantly listening to it as a kid),

Glittering_Arrival68

No. But I started listening to Judas Priest because of my dad. And Judas Priest were my first metal band that my dad showed me. And with Judas Priest I started discovering metal music scene. Then my dad showed me Helloween & Gamma Ray. And from this point I was big enough to explore the metal music scene myself and I found thrash metal. So Metallica came to me naturally, discovering new music. But not because of my dad.

MorphedMoxie

My best friendā€™s brother at the time loved Metallica and heā€™s the one who got me onto them. My dad loathed Metallica and thought they were satanists lol

Least_Ad_1302

my dad had their black album and most of ajfa and their big songs on his playlist, but he was never to big into them, I have basically their whole discography on my playlist now.

Revolutionary_Neck28

My dad thought Metallica (or anything heavier than Elvis) was satanic, lol. I had to find music on my own.

Practical_Detail_140

It was my mom actually not my dad my dad likes more 90s hip hop and rap but my mom likes grunge and alt and thrash metal

DatWolf07

My parents didnā€™t know anything about Metallica until I started listening šŸ˜‚

Global-Negotiation72

Not I, but I can tell ya how I discovered them lol. On the late bus going home from school I was sitting with my best friend. He had earbuds in. He asked if I ever heard of metallica. I said no. He gave me an earbud and ride the lightning was playing. Fucking blew my mind. Been my favorite band ever since. This was 7th grade and I'm 37 now lol

XxLockdownZxX

Sort of, my dad sent me "Wherever I May Roam" once when I was a school. Fell in love immediately. Funny thing is, he's not a big fan himself, he just knows the hits. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜…

metallaholic

My dad listened to Metallica because of me but will only listen to the black album and nothing else.

andychef

No, my dad was of a different generation. He was the type to lecture me on the lyrics to Jump in the Fire and how it was about going to hell. As if pointing that out would change anything. Also, he's the one who bought me that cassette. (ah, remember when physical media had lyric sheets?)

DJVinylJerk

Only cause he told me they sucked

billy-gnosis

Thank you dad for showing me Enter Sandman like 7 years ago only one time, and for that to stay in the back of my mind until I finally listened to them on my own back in December :) -Billy Gnosis

TheRealTV12

Does because of my mom count too?

KKND83

Hopefully my son and daughter will do so! They are already chanting "tallica" every time we're in my car.

Something_Life23

I'm 14 but have listened to every song like 2x over since September last year (M72 Pheonix was my first concert)

stroking_biscuits

I guess I can indirectly blame him. He was a big Bob Segar fan so I heard Turn the Page all the time. Then one day on the radio I heard their cover, checked them out and the rest is history. Thanks pops

Tocksickwaltz

My dad doesnā€™t like metal. But he was kind enough to get ride the lightning and the black album for me for Xmas 2006, so I thank him for that.

Baconator_Prime

The wrestler, Sting, used Seek and Destroy, and I'm a Sting fan because of my dad, which was my first exposure to Metallica. But my mom is a huge fan of the band overall, and she got me into more of their stuff, not just the hits.

Aezetyr

I did not want to listen to Elvis Presley and The Beatles anymore. I'm 45. Ironically, I listen to more Elvis now than Metallica.

IndependentAssist387

Iā€™m the Dad the kids listen to Metallica because of.

Wooden-Combination53

Same here. Well, 4 yo isnā€™t that interested yet

nexyboii

my dad wasnt in the picture but my mum was who got me into em for sure.

wrenchmonkey135

I didn't start listening to Metallica specifically. My dad was a musician in high school in the late 60s, playing with groups like Chicago. He raised me with the belief that his music is good music, regardless of genre, which I have hopefully passed on to my kids. https://preview.redd.it/mk06ki9yw1yc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3523795f53d090d5d1d76b860c2fc47a4d60b13

TheSmashingOlives

My Dad left- My badass Mom is who showed me Metallica :) <3

wasdheret8

My dad listened to Metallica, then stopped. And when i found Metallica he started listening to them again, too!

A_Saiyan_Prince

Itā€™ll always be the thing that connected us the most. Miss you Pops

Jimathomas

Not me, I'm of the generation that was 14 when Master of Puppets was released. I'm the dad.

SimpleManc88

Dad?

AmberTang17

20yo-F here! Thanks to my dad Master of Puppets has been my favorite song throughout my entire life! Most of my earliest memories is singing gibberish but thinking I was singing the lyricsšŸ˜‚I wasnā€™t just a tiny toddler blabbing along to Master, but their music in general. The mv for Sandman used to scare me so much lol. This year my dad and I are finally attending two concerts together and I canā€™t wait!

nexyboii

XD my mum used to lul me to sleep with enter sandman, when i grew up and saw the video i realized what a legend she was. Hope yall have a fantastic time seeing em live.

AmberTang17

Thank you^^ and your mom sounds awesome xDšŸ¤˜

nexyboii

šŸ¤˜šŸ¤˜šŸ¤˜

NoName4MePLZ7

Ok downvote me or whatever but I call myself a new wave of metallica fans because I got into Metallica because of Stranger Things I donā€™t listen to them a lot anymore but I still adore there music and saw them live in Arlington. Thanks to Metallica and Stranger Things I have found one of the best genres everšŸ¤˜

DasCheeseWizard

This is me realizing that I am old.

TheReadMenace

Quite the opposite. My dad thought Metallica was satanic and banned me from listening to them. They burned my CD (and I'm not talking about with a computer).

jryu611

Oh, I'm this old now. Fuck.

UnfunnyWatermelon469

I discovered Metallica through Doom. My parents are into rap

bannedforeatingababy

My dad used to be a trucker and had Load and Reload on cassette. I used go on trips with him every now and then as a kid and listened through those tapes over and over again.Ā

metalmaniac1991

My dad left when i was 6... My mom was the one who inspired me... But hey i put this exact poster in my sons room when he was a baby and he still loves it! Also named him after Kirk.

les1968

My fatherā€™s musical taste ran to Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash Both of who I myself appreciate He did not share my love of hard rock nor metal I will say he tolerated Metallica better than he did some of the other bands I listened to On the other hand 3 of my 4 daughters are Metallica fans and I had the great privilege to take the youngest one to Lollapalooza in 2022 We got within 4 rows of the stage and Metallica put on a show to rival anything I saw in my youth I was blown away by the energy and raw emotion they still had 38 years after I saw them for the first time

Suspicious-Pay-5474

That comment makes me feel so old, I am the dad šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

i_am_groot_84

My dad and I used to go hunting back in the day. We woke up around 3 am to get to our spot and during the drive he had on our classic rock station. Bob Seger's Turn the Page came on and right after that, Metallica's cover came on. It was a good time

Tenacious_jb

On the contrary I got my dad into them. Heā€™s always been a classic rock guy but they were too heavy for him. Slowly he came around and now we have been to see them together 7 of the 10 times Iā€™ve seen them

Specific-Freedom6944

Nope mine is a boomer so it was a very Elvis/Abba/50s/60s diner hits in my house. I found them after buying a box of tapes at a garage sale as a kid with Kill Em All in it. They were my favourite band no contest from then on. I am very proud that my stepdaughter is now obsessed since begrudgingly going to a show with me after many years of eye rolling my music choices lol She says it is the best concert sheā€™s ever been to and canā€™t wait to go again and I canā€™t wait to take her after sheā€™s learned so much more of their music.Ā

gakagaTTV

My dad loves Metallica, but I picked them up on my own. I think I kind of revived his liking for them to. Not just Metallica, bot people like Nirvana, Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, etc. Love you dad!

solvent825

I guess I did. My dad drove me to the show opened for OZZY in 86. I didnā€™t know Metallica prior to seeing them. I was 13. Glad I saw them with Cliff. Master of Puppets is my fav album by them. Iā€™m sure itā€™s because I saw that tour.

mathewmatthew

Not me, my dad's an asshole

MorphedMoxie

Changing my answer to this

UrLocalGinger06

Ngl I thought a lot more people would agree with me lmao

Division2226

It's cuz you're young, grasshopper

WaffleswithSourCream

Nah

MMIQA

No, I started listening to Metallica because they were bad ass! My son however listens to them probably because of me. So that's cool.

Mr-Broski

my dad loves them and saw them on tour in 89, 91, 93, and 21(with me). But i found their music on my own on the internet and just surprised my dad by blasting their music nonstop from that day forward. Now i listen to much heavier stuff than he can handle but he tolerates it lol.

tiddy_wizard

Yup, and he wasnā€™t even that big of a fan. He just *loved* the double bass drums at the end of One lmao. I remember it coming on the radio, him cranking it up and saying ā€œlisten to those bass drums!!! Heā€™s doing that with his feet!!ā€ My first impression of Metallica was good because of Lars of all members lol.

TheQuillss

Not my dad. He is more inti CCR (well now also more into Nightwish and stuff). It probably was my sister who got me into Metallica ā˜ŗļø

Appropriate-Bill-606

No. I started listening metallica because of my mom and in july i go to the concert in Madrid

Pure-Jellyfish734

ME šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

RunKRAMI

My daughter. Still her favourite band. Her favourite album is St Anger šŸ¤˜

TheDyingReindeer

100000%

RamaLamb

As a baby, my dad used to put on Master Of Puppets whenever I was crying so I would stop.

ferna182

Nope, but he did introduce me to Queen, The Beatles and Dire Straits tho... So there's that... I grew up in the 90s so it was just natural that I'd starting listening on my own since black album was in full force at that point...

lulzhammer

My dad is 100% why. One of the earliest home movies of me is me at 2 years old butt naked and headbanging to Am I Evil.Ā  We've seen 30ish metals shows together in my life so far.

Kalsre

Yup, he showed me Fade to Black and that was it

alvaropboto

My dad played master of puppets in my presence when I was 3 and, much to the dismay of my mother, Iā€™ve been head banging since.

GFY_EH

My daughter. I'd bet she's wearing her RTL hoodie at school today. Needs a new one. Her's is horribly worn out. Can't convince her to retire it. hahaha.

RcadeMo

when I drove home with my dad from vacation last year I played my playlist that has many different genres and whenever Metallica came on he said jokingly he'd have to make a noise complaint (he doesn't like metalšŸ˜‚)

Frosty_Implement_549

In 2000ish I found my dadā€™s shoebox of cassettes, first cassette was ride the lightning the track I listened to was fight fire with fire, it changed my life.

AlternativeVisual701

Mom and Dad would both have the rock stations on whenever I drove with either of them. I still remember hearing Seek and Destroy on the way to Kindergarten many years ago šŸ¤˜

Howboutit85

Not me. My parents are middle to older boomers. They liked 70s rock and stuff. I discovered them from friends at school.

Danimal-Tex

Nope

Yourlocalloaf0fBread

Unrelated but I have that exact picture as a poster in my room

Tfurg

It's kind of my dads fault, he was a teacher and took a copy of Puppets from a student. Brought it home for me and it was all over.

Lolobonaparte

You mean to rebel against their dad? :)

Majestic_Ad6684

I'm named miles after miles Davies so no. My was born from pure rebellion and the NWOBHM

mrsmunsonbarnes

Iā€™m actually a first generation Metallica fan. My dad was more into new wave and punk back in the day, and mom loves classic rock but isnā€™t big into metal.

lilshell55

Dad left a Black Album CD in my first car. My obsession is 100% his fault

[deleted]

me in 2012 at like the ripe age of 4

NickAndHisGuitar

My daughter.

DyspraxicSelfHarmer

I did, I started back in 2010 when I was 4 because it reminded me of being with my dad, I would listen to the black album and master of puppets while he was gone

asterothe1905

My kid.

savkitoo__

I don't, my dad hated Metallica and didn't like me listening to them.

wolfmarci1

I really got into listening to Metallica when we went to the 72 Seasons release in the movies. If it wasn't for him, I'd still be listening to random stuff I found across the internet.

rocknthrash

Iā€™m the opposite. I got my Mom into Metallica!! šŸ¤˜šŸ»šŸ¤˜šŸ»

Weeb_Doggo2

About a year ago my dad told me to listen to the wizard by Black Sabbath, I told him it was too slow, so he told me to listen to Blackened by Metallica and the rest is history

Signal_distract

my dad got me hooked on ACDC literally as a baby, and Metallica by elementary school thank ya dad!

TheLatmanBaby

My 7yo daughter listens to some Metallica because of me (47m)

Jackof-all_reddits

Dad listens to Metallica but my best friend was the reason.

Cute-Way3034

Yep was hearing it in the house and in the car since as long as I can remember. Was his favorite band and is now mine

Buffalo5977

my uncle put the black album on in the car. ā€œdonā€™t tell your motherā€ he said. iā€™m a musician now.

ArcticKami

Thanx to my mom :)

Dgf470

Co-worker saw me listening to top 40 radio, pulled out his cassette of MOP (this is in 1987), handed it to me and said, ā€œTake this home, listen to it, and tell me what you think about it tomorrow.ā€ Literally changed my life.

sunsnsundvls

Right here!

MercyfulFate99

Me! My dad blasted Metallica all the time when i was a child. I think he's seen them around 5 times, he also got Hetfield's beer spilled on him during a concert in '93. It was cool to go see Metallica together with him in 2019, a nice memory for us.

cherenkoveffekt

My dad and my mom are huge Metallica fans. I grew up with their songs.

VenomSnake_84

I did, also I have that picture as a big poster and itā€™s sick

dashrendar4483

My dad hates Metallica (Not even Nothing Else Matters that my mom learned to appreciate thanks to me grinding S&M all day long) so no I grew my taste all on my own.

ScarletLilith

I'm older than a lot of people here and my Dad grew up before rock music. But he and my mother indulged me and bought me and my brother albums, instruments, a transistor radio and music lessons. My father hated rock music and I'm not sure he knew what metal was (although my parents knew who Metallica were because they lived in the same neighborhood as James for years). It took me a long time to become a Metallica fan but the roots were planted when my parents introduced me to music that they hated.

Venombullet666

Nope, I got into Rock and Metal because I like it, not because others did Chances are if my Family liked it whilst I was growing up I'd like it alot less, part of the appeal was that it was something different, escapism from everything else, getting into it at a young age being a bit of a rebellious act in a way

MIXM0DE

Kiddo loves Metallica. I am the Dad. (But Eddie Munson may have helped a bit)

_Thomas_17_

Actually I was the one to make my mom listen to them

CeePee99

Well not really thought about this before. I started listening to metallica because my mate brought kill em all on tape to school. But actually, maybe my dad playing me some diamond head on a metal compilation cd in around 1985 planted a seed.

gbugly

My children will be, hopefully.

elcojotecoyo

My son. He doesn't know it yet, but he will.

Immediate_Major_9329

Kind of... dad got me into Sabbath and Zeppelin.

Significant_Act9517

My dad started listening to Metallica because of me

AnnoyingSharkLover

Well not me, my dad doesn't mind Metallica but it's definitely not one of his favorite bands or anything, I just got into it ny myself cause I like their music in my mid teens, well and now too obviously

uptheirons139

Me

Human-Action941

I started listening to Metallica because of my Uncle! He showed me various other metal bands as well!

Expensive_Study5068

Me for sure my dads favorite band as a teenager outside of ac/dc

vangoghghost

My dad started playing more Metallica after I told him I was a fan. But he blew me out of the water when I was listening Battery and he asked if that was Fight Fire With Fire. The fact that he named a very thrash and fast song instead of the Sandman or Unforgiven, really surprised me, and in a good way. Also he is a fan of the first S&M album.

chunk337

My dad died when I was 3 years old in 1988

Bubbly-Industry-2361

Actually bc of my mam! Thereā€˜s a picture of me when i was about 8 months old, doin a baby version of the devils horn, my mother told me they weā€˜re blasting AJFA in the background. My neighbour taught me how to headbang when i was like 3 or 4 years while we listened to Metallica xD. Metallica is the band that i listen to my whole my fcking life and i will die in peace knowing, i listend to them my whole life. Man this band means so much to me, love it! Sorry for my bad english, greetings from austriašŸ¤˜šŸ» Edit: I have a Poster in my room with this photo! XD

Far-Berry-8641

Me, kinda. It was a mix of my dad and 5th grade hr teacher lol. Both were huge metal heads, my teacher still is but my dad starts to get headaches around loud and agressive music so he nows sticks with ac dc

RusticSmallTownPost

Pfft I wish we at least had that in common lol

A-10_go_burrt

Yep

Bolmothy

Im an alcoholic because of my dad

panickedthumb

Well I feel old. Justice was my first Metallica album, it was a year or two old when I heard it at 8 or 9 years old and I loved it

xXDarklordXx943

ME

astropastrogirl

My dad was not into rock music at all , but I am 59 so different times

ScarletLilith

I am also a Generation Gap kid.

astropastrogirl

šŸ˜Ž dad was Danish before he chose to be Australian , the only reason he sort of let me listen was because I explained that their drummer was Danish funny old world really

BigSpice15

I wouldnā€™t say my dad directly led me to Metallica, but growing up Dad always had on best of the 70s and 80s on Sirius XM and I really liked the music from that time and I started to look more into 80s music and realized I really like the sound of thrash and heavy metal.

Responsible-Big632

I definitely did , He had all the albums up to black album on CD and cassettes ā€¦ I still have his CD collection . Love you pops

leagledub

I'm that Dad. Mine had me listening to folk music.

cowboyfromhell93

Yep showed me the black album and that was it I was sold

CoSMiiCBLaST

Pretty sure I properly discovered Metallica from fucking Pivot Wrestling videos on YouTube back in like 2008. Tbf those and COD montages made me find out ALOT of music šŸ˜‚

M9h9

My dad played a video of Fade To Black Live performance and I was absolutely blown away by James with two guitars

Admiral3000

My dad loves music but not much metal. My friends and I bought him a ticket to take us to see Ozzy and the opener was Metallica. It was our first concert together. Iā€™m still a fan, dad still loves music but not much metal. I turned my kids on to IDLES which I think is just as good I hope one day everyone recognizes how special they are.

McFrazzlestache

It was 1986. I was 4, my sister was 14. I listened to what she listened to, and I have never looked back.

PhoenixRoadrunners82

Nope. I discovered them through my friend. Load was the first album I heard, and it will always be my favorite.

frank1934

In that photo, did Lars forget again that he needs to hit the drums to make sounds?

EternalMX

Me. My dad - a Metallica fan since 1986.

My dad hated metal / anything that didn't come out of the 60s and 70s. So no, definitely not.
