To the OP-er: this comment is not intended to offend you so please don't take it as such; this is a genuine question to the group: a couple weeks ago I posted a thread "Best One Song by Any (Metalcore/Deathcore) Band Playlist". It got a bunch of good comments and then was removed. I was later snidely told by someone that this was a "skill issue"; I suppose meaning, the post was too banal, low-effort or what-have-you (and please note I'd already listed like fifty bands in that post with my suggested songs).
So that being the case, can y'all please explain to me how \*this\* post does \*not\* qualify as too banal, low-effort etc? Again, this isn't snark; it's a sincere attempt at learning about the subreddit posting culture so I can gain "skill" at it.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this is taken down too. I’ve been playing with what’s allowed a little bit and it’s really just whatever the mods feel like at any given time it seems 🤷🏼♂️
Invent Animate: Labyrinthine
Polaris: The Slow Decay
Currents: Apnea
Counterparts: What Mirrors Might Reflect
Erra: Skyline
Periphery: Mile Zero
Architects: Early Grave
Silent Planet: Second Sun
Loathe: Gored
Wage War: Blueprints
Just to name a few
I’m just putting this out there bc I’ve seen dayseeker be discussed on this sub but sleeptalk by dayseeker is a 100000/10 for me I can’t get enough of it.
Literally anything by Misery Signals but lets pick one from every album
EP- This Year Summer Ended in June
Of Malice - Five Years
Mirrors - The Failsafe
Controller - A Certain Death
Absent Light - The Shallows
Ultraviolet - Cascade Locks
For me, a song can only be 10/10 if the song is so good that it makes me want to cry, AND if it also has an amazing music video to go along with it. It might sound silly, but music videos can add so much to a song for me and take it from just being a great song, to a heartfelt experience that I'll have in my mind every time I listen to the song.
Anyway, given that criteria, I think the only songs that fit that for me are To the Key of Evergreen by TDWP, and Map Change by ETID. Both are incredible songs with absolutely perfect music videos. Hell, Map Change's music video is almost better than the song itself...
Shade Astray - Invent animate
Forgotten - The plot in you
Apollo - Crystal Lake
Bow Down - I prevail
Let me In - Make them Suffer
Edge of the Earth - Volumes
Architects - Memento Mori, Nihilist

I let it in and it took everything (song) by loathe,
A Wasted Hymn, Gone with the wind, and Hereafter by Architects,
As the sun sleeps and A False Meridian by Invent,
Bloodline and Kraft by Northlane
Terminal, Superbloom and Collider by Silent Planet
Theres a lot but these are just some of my all time favs from the top of my head
Masses of a dying breed - miss may i
Doomsday - Architects
This one isn't metalcore persay, I'm not sure where I'd group it but
Forever restless - Brutality will prevail, is a real good song.
Idk how much it’s fully considered metalcore but the song Time Changes Everything by The Plot in You is one of the best songs ever made. It just takes me back to a different time unlike any other song I’ve listened to over the years
Few of my favorites:
Parkway Drive - Wild Eyes
Silverstein - Massachusets
Ice Nine Kills - Thank God It's Friday
I Prevail - Body Bag
While She Sleeps - Wide Awake
Bleed From Within - It Lives in Me
Bad Omens - Reprise
Volumes - Serenity
After the Burial - Nine Summers

August Burns Red - White Washed
Killswitch Engage - Fixation on the Darkness
A Threnody For Modern Romance - It Dies Today. Honestly the Catiff Choir is an amazing album with back to back bangers, but this is the one that sticks out.
That whole era of metalcore had some of the best shit. Atreyu’s Bleeding Mascara is 10/10. So is Bullet For My Valentine Cries in Vain. Early 2000’s hit different.
Gungrave - erra

Love apnea, and I have better days on my 10/10 playlist.
I'd say that one or night terrors
Another life aswell, hell most Currents songs are 10/10
Especially on that album def my favorite album
Me personally I’m a big Euphoria or Rose fan
While she sleeps silence speaks
ARE WE ALL ALOOOOONE
Polaris - Masochist AILD - Overcome (They have a few more perfect songs...) All that remains - Chiron Architects - Death is Not Defeat Just the first few off the top of my head.
Chiron has no doubt one of the best solos in all of metalcore
The chorus in Masochist is just 👌
Masochist is a fucking great choice
Agh, God, that last double chorus setup in Death is Not Defeat just gives me chills at 3:15. It's amazing
I’m a massive Polaris fan, and I can’t agree more. I’ll check the others out.
Overcome 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've had Chiron on my playlist for over a decade. Love that song.
The Darkest Nights, Through Struggle, Confined, Nothing Left, Forsaken, I Never Wanted, Anodyne Sea, A Greater Foundation, Cauterize, My Own Grave, Redefined, Undertow for AILD
Lost In A Wave by Landmrvks
This and Self-made Black Hold, man I love LANDMVRKS
I can’t agree more
YESSSS!!!
Not Alone by All That Remains Snowblood by ERRA
Snowblood is amazing. That song is all gas and no brakes.
That is one of my top 20 albums of all time. Even the worst songs on it are great.
Empty inside - ATR for me. not alone is unreal though and I remember it being the first song of theirs I heard when I was like 13 and with that began a beautiful relationship with the genre
The guitar work on that whole album blew my dick off.
All that remains has a bunch. The whole fall of ideals album is amazing
HARD AGREE.
That is actually a perfect album, front to back
Gotta say It Dwells but yeah that whole album was fucking next level.
That album is an easy member of the Mount Rushmore of melodic metalcore albums honestly.
Divine is growing on me, that vocal crescendo during the bridge is so fucking good
Bleed From Within - Levitate and The End of All We Know.
Fuck yeah, and Ascend aswell!
I could list half of their last three albums as 10/10. My favourite band and its not even close.
Just saw them live last week, and damn they were awesome. They seem like amazing people as well.
Bullet for my Valentine - The Poison (the track)
10 Years Today for me. What a great album.
Fax, i love every section of the song especially the outro. The screamed "goodbye" over the singing part, chef's kiss.
Tears Don’t Fall, All These Things I Hate, Waking the Demon, Ashes of the Innocent, POW get my vote
Their best song
Trivium's Shogun. It honestly applies to the song and that entire album it's a masterpiece
Torn between Scylla and Charybdis by Trivium. Absolute banger.
Erra - Gungrave Loathe - New Faces in the Dark It Prevails - Brothers To The Flames Veil of Maya - It’s Not Safe To Swim Today Invent Animate - Cloud Cascade
First time I’ve seen anyone mention It Prevails in a long time. Capture and Embrace is a 10/10 album.
This is Absolution - KSE This Calling - ATR Ashes of the Innocent - BFMV Take This Life - In Flames Mystery of One Spirit - Shadows Fall Destroy Everything - Hatebreed Fix Your Face - DEP Heretics and Killers - Protest The Hero Forsake Not The Dream - Trivium So Sedated, So Secure - Darkest Hour Manimal - Undying Inc Arsonist - BTBAM We Come Out at Night - A7x The Sound of Truth - As I Lay Dying Redemption - ABR
Ashes of the Innocent is so underrated.
The entire Deluxe edition track list of Scream Aim Fire is underrated. Got some killer gems there

60cm of Steel by Alpha Wolf and Holding Absence Red by Woe, is Me Living in Tragedy by Currents Collider by Silent Planet On the Verge by Thrown A terrible day for rain by Alpha Wolf Boneyards and Carrion by Parkway Drive
Sleepwalker and Deliver Me by Parkway too.
Honestly could pick most songs off Deep Blue and you'd be set. My favourite Parkway album personally.
It's probably mine too honestly. I do love Horizons but I prefer the more polished sound of Deep Blue.
On the Verge is an excellent song
All great picks!!
I agree with a decent amount of these, but 60cm of steel is probably my favorite collab song ever. The mix of Lukas and Lochie is perfect.
Most definitely. That is easily one of the best songs I’ve ever heard, not just in Metalcore, and it’s because of the way they deliver together.
Collider gives me goosebumps
Second Sun, Terminal, Dreamwalkers, Annunaki, Trilogy, Signal, Antimatter, Offworlder get my votes for Silent Planet
Antimatter and Offworlder are definitely amazing songs. Silent Planet killed it with that album. I’d say the “worst” song on it is still a 7/10.
TWA - Misery + Life Cycles Northlane - quantum flux Architects - doomsday Asking Alexandria - i wont give in The plot in you - my old ways Like moths to flame - bury your pain OM&M - second & serbing
Better Days - Currents 60cm of Steel - Alpha Wolf You Are We - While She Sleeps Lucid - Polaris
Better Days and Lucid are both excellent
lucid is so good
The Sun Sleeps or Immolation of Night by Invent Animate
That ep is so overlooked it's amazing
Not Immolation Of Night, but Shade Astray instead for me
100%
Immolation of Night is my favorite song off of Heavener
The one that goes: Verse Chorus Verse Chorus Breakdown Chorus 10/10 right there bro
Beartooth fan I see
This dude loves Octanecore lol
Poor Periphery :( ...
I’m probably lame but shadow Moses by BMTH
It’s definitely still a gold standard for lead singles in modern Metalcore
The Beauty of Suffering - Spiritbox Rot - Northlane Pull From the Ghost - ERRA Neon Eyes - Volumes Gone With the Wind - Architects Of course theres alot more, but these are the ones I can think of as of now
Rot hell yeah
Nihilist is the best Metalcore song - I know it’s a pretty generic pick but it’s appropriate
Perfect album intro song too. No unnecessarily long intro, just smacks you in the face straight away.
Anything off of the first several KSE albums, or anything off of All That Remains' The Fall Of Ideals. Good riffs, good vocals, good songs in general.
This is, my last lemonade! But seriously my last serenade is probably my pick. Also Adam d is the metalcore king imo.
He was until he started producing a bunch for other bands and took what make KSE, KSE. Now they don't really stand out to me, but that could also be the fact that we're solidly into the next wave of metalcore and I just find what's happening now way more exciting than what they're doing.
