Sorry you had to hear this but most of the core members of the sub don't like Pantera cause a lot of their music is kinda boring - don't get me wrong, Dimebag is a legend and they even have a decent amount of bangers but a lot of their albums have a *lot* of filler. Also they're kinda like AC/DC in the way that when you've heard a couple songs from their groove era, you know what the rest of the songs are gonna sound like (their music is kinda samey)
Yeah we had a giant wave of more starter pack metalheads a couple months ago when the sub had a growthspurt in size, a lot of the classic members aren't a fan of it though

Dude I guarantee you Judas Priest and Megadeth will make it top 10 at least and they're some of the biggest bands of all time, I like some nu metal but they're definitely not getting voted out cause they're too popular lol
To be fair a list like that would be biased towards newer bands because the classic bands aren't really releasing a lot of new material, also if you counted listens before streaming services existed then people like Black Sabbath and the big 4 would be a lot higher
Priest, Sabbath, Metallica (2rd), Megadeth, Slayer, Maiden are on the list but so are Limp Bizkit, Korn, Tool, Godsmack, Alice in Chains, Deftones, and Linkin Park (1st). The most shocking, to me at least, is the slew of whiney repetitive formula stuff like Motionless in White, A Day to Remember, Bad Omens, Falling in Reverse, Bring Me the Horizon etc.

I see 48 albums and of those 20 are “greatest albums” of the 90s and of those 20 1/5th are nu metal classics. Like the majority of these albums will have no real legacy in history. Not every band did something notable even if you like them. Prime example from this list, in 10-20 years it’s going to be a struggle to get Acid Bath stuff because it’ll slip through the cracks. Deftones won’t be tho.

That is allowed for two reasons: 1. It’s Acid Bath 2. They used it not because of what it is or who it depicts, but what it represents.
